From Dec - Mar, these mountains are usually laced with snow (breathtaking). The home is ideal for either a family vacation or a couples private retreat for those looking to completely escape. Featuring TWO master suites, one with brand new Westin Heavenly Cal King bed, ultra modern bathrooms, one with a 72" soaker tub, walk thru dual shower (hand held & power shower) & huge walk in closet. Other bedrooms feature brand new beds and 600+ thread count linens, are especially spacious and all have great views. Gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar & bar stools, expansive dining table and 6 new comfy chairs, fully stocked pantry, new crockery and cutlery for the guests. Microwave, Huge Fridge/freezer, dishwasher, modern range, rice cooker, electric kettle, coolers on hand, ice machine, garage freezer, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, blender for margaritas and every thing else you could imagine. All clearly labeled, new and easy to use. The works! Since coming into the vacation rental market, the owner has received great comments and acts on feedback to maintain a quality experience. Some clients are rebooking for a month at a time. In 2008, all carpets and tiles are brand new. Rating: Review: my husband and i have spent a lot of time renting on the kohala coast...mauna lani facilities, waikoloa...and lived in hilo for 3 years, many years ago. the lynx house was so perfect for us. we found the quiet and clean air fantastic (especially just coming from hong kong!) the uncluttered serenity of the house was great. we had a problem with internet availability from there (i understand it will be available in a few months:) but we worked it out. and when we called brian for advice, he responded immediately and was very helpful.. we definitely would like to return. it was a bit of a hike getting up there, but the trip was an adventure with the free range cattle occupying the road! it was charming! favorite restaurant, hands down, was the harbor grill. outstanding. beats any restaurant on kohala coast! Rating: Review: The House was clean and very funtional and very sunny and pleasant. The sunsets were gorgeous and the blue ocean was wonderful to gaze at.I strongly recommend folks check this house out. Rating: Review: The house is beautifully situated above the ocean with a wide expanse of interesting vistas. It is well located for touring both the east and west sides of the island. It is a bright cheerful house and accomodate our family of 6 adults very well. Everyone felt that they had sufficient privacy. It's also lovely at night because it is high enough up to give a lovely cool breeze. We had the opportunity to go to the lava flows at Kiluaea, play tennis and golf, go snorkeling and swimming and hike. We generally ate at home for dinner but one night we went to Sushi Rock which was excellent and another night we ate at the Canoe House - fabulous ambience. i might add that while the house was very well equipped there are a few things I would change - I would get rid of the white carpets and put darkening shades or curtains in the bedrooms so that the sun does not come in at 5AM. These are minor details but could help. The bed was fantastic!!!! I'm planning on buying a new mattress now! Thanks to Brian for being so helpful each time I contacted him. The house is beautifully situated above the ocean with a wide expanse of interesting vistas. It is well located for touring both the east and west sides of the island. It is a bright cheerful house and accomodate our family of 6 adults very well. Everyone felt that they had sufficient privacy.
