Great house, with good beach access for a non-beachfront property. The sand beach is rare on the Big Island. The close access to town made it easy to plan our day. "Huggos on the Rocks" and "Jackie Reys" are great places to eay. The only negative was the pool was way too cold to swim. We went in January so the sun may warm it in the summer.

Description
All rooms face onto the pool area and there are numerous lanais to step outside and enjoy the tropical breezes. All of your dining will likely be outside near the pool. The pool is not a shallow pool, so we recommend parents supervise the little ones closely, or take them to the lagoon, which is known as 'keiki beach' (keiki is hawaiian for children) because it is very sandy and protected.
The master bedroom has a jetted large tub and a double walk in shower. The other two bedrooms have queen size beds and each has their own lanai. There is a shared bath room between the two guest bedrooms.
When you get up in the morning, just grab a folding chair and walk over to the beach (150 feet). The water in the lagoon is crystal clear and no more than 6 feet deep at high tide. The tide pools warm up during the day and can be utilized year around. There's no better white sand beach on the island and from the beach you can see the village of Kailua Kona. After swimming, you can walk into town from the house or drive one mile. The location of this private community is perfect for quick access to nightlife and dining.
Activities: You can walk in five minutes to public tennis courts lighted at night, Olympic public pool, basket ball courts and hike from the house to the old airport which is a public park with hiking trails. Photography is fantastic at this shoreline. Kailua-Kona has para sailing, snorkel trips, Big Game fishing and lots of shopping in the village. Golfing is located 6 miles south in Keauhou or the Makalai Golf club.

Reviews
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ginger House! We loved the openess and the many sliding doors exiting to the pool or the lanais. The customer service was excellent! We would have loved to have four chaise lounges there, instead of the two provided for us. We bought two additional ones at Kmart and left them there. The house was amazing and furnished in the Hawaiian theme which was fun. Our only complaint was the two bedrooms on each side of the stairs with the open space. The blinds were nice, but these two bedrooms didn't give the occupants any privacy. We had a fabulous time and loved the proximetry of the beach and lagoon, directly across the street. Thanks for a wonderful and restful family vacation! The Kellys
