The town of Kailua-Kona is nearby. Kahalu'u Beach Park, a great snorkeling beach and park, is just a few minutes south. Kona Country Club is three miles south, with two championship courses: the "Ocean" course and the "Mountain" course, a pro shop, driving range, restaurant and lounge. Beautiful Hapuna State Park, with a large sandy beach nearly 700 yards long, is about a 55-minute drive north on Hwy 19. Swimming is good, given favorable weather, and lifeguards are on duty. The dramatic Volcanoes National Park is a quick Helicopter ride away, or about a two hour and twenty minute drive. Star Gazing on Mauna Kea is always a favorite!
