Description

The Outrigger Keauhou Beach sits directly on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Part of the seven-story hotel is actually built over tidal pools where Hawaiian green sea turtles glide through the tranquil waters. There are 309 rooms, three of which are Royal Suites, four indoor meeting rooms with 6,300 square feet of space, a day spa, ocean view fitness room, oceanfront restaurant and bar, swimming pool, six tennis courts and three large outdoor function areas. Kahaluu Beach Park, one of the best snorkeling beaches in Hawaii, is adjacent to hotel grounds. Kalona Salon and Spa, Kailua Village Artists Gallery and Charla Photography are located on property. A complimentary shuttle is available to the nearby Keauhou Shopping Center. The 10 acre property was once part of a large ancient Hawaiian community. Historical sites on property include the remains of two ancient heiau (sacred temples), a canoe landing and the Po'o Hawaii pond or sacred bathing pool once used by ancient royalty. A more recent addition is a replica of King David Kalakaua's summer home of the late 1800's. Cultural workshops and presentations are offered throughout the year.
