Also available are ATV excursions across the expansive ranch lands as well as horseback rides to enjoy this area's beautiful scenery.
The Mauna Lani Resort offers two impressive golf courses, the North and South courses. The North Course is known for its lush fairways and the signature hole #17 that begins on an elevated tee that challenges players to reach the green fronted by a bunker and set within a lava rock amphitheater. The Mauna Lani Resort South Course, which hosted the famed Senior Skins Game for a decade, is known for its treacherous yet picturesque 15th hole which goes over water. Golfers are advised to hone their skills on the South Course before attempting the more challenging North Course. After a day of fun and adventure pamper yourself with a beachside massage and other luxurious spa treatments. Fun day trips from this area include driving south along the Kona Coast to Historic Kailua Village and Kealakekua Bay, or north to Waimea town and along the scenic Hamakua Coast to Hilo town and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
