| Hoku Loa is a romantic Honeymoon Cottage located just 350 feet from the
beach. This original fisherman's house has been completely updated and
is newly furnished with vintage rattan and tropical prints that reflect
the Blue Hawaii era. Relax on the front lanai as you watch the koi
and talapia that live in the tidal pond. The pond is a very clean
eco-system that contains mainly salt water and that is used as a
meditation pond rather than to swim or fish. Behind the cottage is a
screened in porch that provides additional dining options. Hoku Loa
backs up to acres of state land which include Puako's famous petroglyph
fields. This is a wonderful destination for outdoor enthusiasts who
enjoy hiking. The reef and water along Puako are pristine and offer
the opportunity to swim, dive and snorkel with sea turtles and other
amazing ocean creatures. The cottage can accommodate two people, but
there is a separate 3 bedroom home on the property, Hale Kai Kohola,
that can also be rented for larger groups. This tropical oasis with its
fishpond, palm trees, green lawn, and flowering trees is a perfect Big
Island hideaway.
