The main house can accommodate 6 people and there is a separate Ohana on the property that can be rented as well and it accommodates 2 people. These accommodations sample Puako's charm in a setting for travelers looking for a secluded retreat. This unique home boasts its own fishpond on the property, much like the Ancient Hawaiians with their Royal Fishponds that were used only for the Alii. The fishpond is a very clean eco-system that contains mainly salt water and is used as a meditation pond rather than to swim or fish in it. This newly re-modeled home carries the tradition of Vintage Hawaii and is a stunning vacation destination for a family or group of friends to enjoy a truly memorable vacation. With a rich prehistoric past marked by its famous petroglyph fields, Puako offers tranquility and privacy, with sunny, balmy days and clear, starry nights. The reef and water along Puako are pristine and offer the opportunity to swim, dive and snorkel with sea turtles and other amazing ocean creatures.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay at Hale Kai Kohala. We felt like we were home again. Everything was nice and the fresh flowers were beautiful. "The Whales Tail was very comfortable and the snorkeling was fabulous just outside the door. Customer servise wasn't really needed. The best part of the trip was relaxing. The best restaurant was The Grill at the Fairmont Orchid. The best pictures were of the coast outside our house. No time to see the volcano, but nest time we will."
