Built at an elevation of 4,000 feet on the forest covered slopes of Mauna Loa volcano and the world's most active volcano, Kilauea, the town properly named, Volcano, is a small rural town. It is generally cool and wet year-round with lush green forests full of tropical ferns, orchids, anthiriums and many more exotic plants.

Volcano village is equipt with small shops, general stores, and a few restaurants. You can also visit Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park where you can walk through ancient lava tubes, hike through enormous craters and many many more. .
