Built at an elevation of 4,000 feet on the forest covered slopes of Mauna Loa volcano and the world's most active volcano, Kilauea, the town properly named, Volcano, is a small rural town. It is generally cool and wet year-round with lush green forests full of tropical ferns, orchids, anthiriums and many more exotic plants.
