You will find an oceanfront resort style multi-level pool, oceanfront open air fitness cabana, and a bar and restaurant at the Halii Kai Ocean Club. The restaurant offers a selection of favorite Hawaiian cocktails and appetizers. Coconut Grove at Halii Kai offers a tennis court and a basketball court for Halii Kai guests. There is a $40 pool fee, per stay.
The gourmet kitchens have stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. The living room has been furnished with a tropical flair as you expect to find in Hawaii, including big screen LCD televisions. Enjoy the ocean views from the kitchen as well as the living area in this wonderful oceanfront villa. The bathrooms are very spacious and have large walk-in shower and deep soaking tub in the master. Unit 13H at Hailii Kai is truly breathtaking. We sat on our lanai morning and evening watching hundreds of humpback whales take care of their calves. The sunsets on the water were amazing. The unit itself was plenty big and well planned out. The kitchen appliances were world class and the unit itself is right next to the pool, ocean club and barbecue. The customer service was excellent - the instructions were easy to follow and we didn't have any unit issues. We loved exploring various beaches by day - Hapuna Beach was our favorite, and Spencer Beach was super kid friendly. Puako Beach was a local recommendation so it was very private, but their was quite a bit of lava rock on the shore line. We wanted to get out on the water and had numerous recommendations for Ocean Sports snorkel cruise. It leaves out of nearby A-Bay, and it was phenomenal. We left at 10:30, whale watched for an hour or so and ended up snorkeling to a black sand beach. The wind picked up a little bit so we got to sail for the last hour upon our return. We did head to the volcano for a day, and that was too long for what we actually got to see and do. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive each way, and we felt like the time would have been better spent on the nearby beaches. All in all, we had a great vacation and felt that we were in the perfect spot!
