Oceanside Villa Kapoho - We loved the location because is was quiet and secluded, but within easy driving distance to Hilo and the volcano. Our favorite part of the trip was snorkling in the Champagne Pond and Tide Pools. We loved barbequeing on the lanai and watching the stunning stars at night.

This turned out to be one of our best vacations!

Mauna Lani Golf Villas E-1 - Unit was spectacular - 5*. Can't think of a bad thing to say - great furnishings, great kitchen, great electronics, great grill...

We loved it.

One word of advice - don't put the the garage door remote in your rental car!!!! We noticed it half-way to the airport and had to turn around to return it. This just meant less time at Hilo Hatties.

A third bike for bigger child/small adult would be useful.

Waikoloa Colony Villa 1106 - Waikoloa Colony Villa is excellant in it accomodations. We circumnavigated the island twice during our weeklong stay and found that we were centrally located to everything. I would recommend this accomodation to anyone, including family.

Hale Ke Kai - Beautiful house! Excellent ocean view, we really enjoyed the sound of the surf. The location was great too, you could walk to the beach, and shopping was just a few minutes away. Our kids really enjoyed the pool too. Would highly recommend for any family, or two couples-plenty of room to spread out.

Lagoon House 2 at Kapoho - What I liked best was the warm, private lagoon and all the beautiful fish. The customer service I received was very good, however, I did get a bit weary of so many different agents e-mailing me with the same instructions for checking in and instructions on how to get there. We arrived in Hilo late at night, and had to find our way in the dark, in the rain (of course), and the instructions were so precise, that we found our way just fine! The best part of the trip was all of the nearby snorkling opportunities, and the relaxing atmosphere of Kapoho. We didn't eat our much as we bought a lot of great produce at both the Hilo and Pahoa Farmer's Markets, but one of my favorites is Nings in Pahoa if you like Thai food. We didn't bring camera's - if you can believe that. I wll tell everyone I know that is traveling & staying on the Hilo side about the wonderful gem of Kapoho. If you stay at Lagoon House 2, don't waste time getting into the private lagoon - pure joy! We followed the recommended advice of cleaning up all garbage right away, and had virtually no problems with ants or cockroaches - I did see a big one outside though. Finding the Champagne Pond was great because I have friends who live in Pahoa - LeiLana Estates, and when I visited them last Christmas, they didn't know how to get to it so it was something I could share with them. They showed me a smaller, quite warm pond near the big warm pond which was very delightful. We actually had very few tourist plans made in addition to the daily snorkeling we did. I was interested in a whale watching trip with "Captain Dan" while we were on the Kialua-Kona side for the last 4 days of our stay. Unfortunately, just at that time, his boat was out of water for needed repairs, so hopefully on my next trip I will get to see whales up close & personal with him. Although it has nothing to do with our stay at Lagoon House 2, we stayed at a bed & breakfast in Captain Cook that was a working coffee farm. It sounded good in the brochure, however, a working coffee farm is NOT the place to stay if you are looking peace and quiet. There were many neighboring coffee farms and everyone has at least 2 roosters that start crowing at 4:00 am, many people have dogs that bark at the wild pigs who venture on to their terrain during the night, and if that isn't enough to disturb your sleep, the coffee pickers arrive at 5:00 am and pick for 12 hours which can disturb a peaceful afternoon nap. We stayed at a place called the Cedar House B & B which was rustic, but nice. We had a separate, private cottage called the Coffee Cottage which was literally in the middle of the coffee trees and the pickers were right outside our windows all day long.

The Palm Villas G-22 at Mauna Lani Resort - The difference in my stay in this unit was that all kitchen accessories were readily supplied like ziplocs, foil, cooler, coffee thermos, etc. Also, toiletries were well stocked. I will gladly recommend this unit to family and friends as well as business associates for use in this area.

Lagoon House 2 at Kapoho - My family really loved to stay at Lagoon II, it sames from the fairy-tale... the place is quiet, peaceful, private and beautiful and natural. We enjoyed every minitue when we stayed there. It is absolutely a wonderful vacation HOME, There is the lovely lagoon view in the living room. The bed is comfortable. We had breatfast and dinner in the house everyday. We found all the appliances for cooking in the kitchen. I would definitely recommend to my friends to stay here when they come to Big Island. Christine

Kona Beach House - Convenient location; best lanai of any house we have ever rented; everything worked; a little warm on the lanai - outside ceiling fans would be helpful if they can stand the weather; we did purchase a couple of small room fans that we used on the lanai and the bedrooms at night - that little bit extra made it perfect (we left the fans at the house for the next group or the cleaners or whomever). We got some great pictures of sunsets from the lanai - perfect location for that. The sound of the surf right outside the door was wonderful. The sprinklers coming on every day made the front walkway a little slick, but everything was nice and green. Well maintained. The beach right around the corner was awesome - we saw the most fish and turtles within walking distance of the house of anywhere on the island. Kona Country Club restaurant was great and affordable. Golf was pretty sweet, too. September is a great time to visit - very small crowds everywhere. We'll remember that for next time.

Lagoon House 2 at Kapoho - We had a fabulous time at the Lagoon House II. It was exactly how it looked on the website even better since I was told by the neighbors, the house was painted earlier the day we checked in. We were sad we only spent a few days on the Big Island because we were there for a wedding down the street. We can not wait to stay there again and experience the Big Island in its glory. Thank you for the stay.

The Lynx Estate Kohala Ranch - The House was clean and very funtional and very sunny and pleasant. The sunsets were gorgeous and the blue ocean was wonderful to gaze at.I strongly recommend folks check this house out.

"What a beautiful house and location! Our family loved our time in this home and the town. We are already talking about our next trip! Our kids had so much fun chasing after the geckos and hanging out in the "Mai Tai" pool!"
