| Hale hah-lay means house. Makai mah-ka-ee means toward the ocean.
Hale Makai is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront immaculate beach cottage. It is located in a tiny rural beach community in Anahola on Aliomanu Road.
The sounds of the surf can be heard from within the beach home. Over the sandy berm, beyond the foliage is a white, sandy beach with a barrier reef. You can swim or snorkel during favorable tide conditions. For the surfers, drive to the south end of Anahola Bay called "unreals". Always be akamai (smart; intelligent) and observe the ocean for changes in the swells. All Kauai beaches are beautiful and enticing, however, respect the ocean and it's conditions. If the ocean is too rough, do what you came to Hawaii for . . . simply relax on the beach with your favorite book! Don't forget that sun block lotion!
How about taking your first cup of coffee and the beach chair to greet the morning sunrise? You may be lucky to catch passing whales during the migratng season. You may also be treated to catching a glimpse of playful dolphins beyond the offshore reef.
Kapaa town, shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, groceries, health food stores, etc. are just 10-15 minutes away!
Activities nearby include seasonal swimming, snorkeling, fishing, surfing, wind surfing, horseback riding, hiking, shopping, helicopter tours, ecosystem tours, tennis and golf. |
