Ka Hale Kaiola offers luxury in a beachfront home for your family and friends. This house has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, gourmet kitchen, vaulted ceiings, marble counter tops, hardwood floors and air conditioning. The furnishings are all Tommy Bahama and add to the great plantation style of the house. A large covered porch looks out to the ocean and has Brown Jordan patio furniture including two chaise lounges, a large round table with cushioned chairs, reading chair and ottoman and a bbq. The view from the lanai (covered porch) is spectacular. The beach is accessed by going down the staircase off the lanai, across the beautifully landscaped front yard and onto the beach for a swim!
Ka Hale Kaiola is located on the lush north shore of Kauai, the Garden Island. Kauai is known as the most naturally beautiful island in the Hawaiian chain, as yet unsullied by modern development. It is the oldest island of Hawaii and has towering mountains, scenic canyons and spectacular waterfalls.
Ka Hale Kaiola is just 15 minutes from the town of Hanalei and just steps to Tunnels Beach, the best snorkeling location on the island. Two miles from the property is the trailhead for the Na Pali Coast and the wonderful reef protected swimming and snorkeling beach called Kee Beach. The famous St. Regis Princeville Resort (golf, tennis, spa, and restaurants) and Hanalei Bay Resort are just 20 minutes away. The north shore of Kauai offers a multitude of fine restaurants and daily activities; a list of recommendations will be available to you for your stay.
The Ka Hale Kaiola property has a long and noble history. This Crown Lands parcel (designated during the Mahele as a part of Royal Patent No.7194) was once owned by Mikahela Kekauonohi, granddaughter of Kamehameha I, and wife of Liholiho Kamehameha II who later donated a portion of the property to the YMCA camp next door. This property then came under private ownership and currently resides in a quiet beachfront neighborhood. Here, you can escape to the old Hawaii amongst towering kamani and ironwoods trees; savor the moment of this relaxed tropical paradise under swaying palms and sprawling grass lawn. Bali Hai Peak (locally known as Mount Makana), made famous from the movie South Pacific, is viewable from this property.
There are two homes on the Makua Kai property. Each home on the property has been given its special name by a Hawaiian kahuna. One home is named Ka Hale Kaiola which means the House of Healing Waters. The other home is named Hale O Naue in commemoration of the ancient Hawaiian land it occupies. The houses are available individually and provide a beautiful private escape for your ocean side adventure or you may want to rent them both for a family reunion, small business conference, or group of friends. |

Advise any who stay at this locale do so for 10 days or more to really get into the ambiance of the area.
The great thing about the Island is its size where we could go to a Lua at the Hyatt in the south and be back in Hanelai on the North West coast in an hour and a half.
