| The owners have used the local jungle fowl, the Moa (and the ever present yet never the same Kauai Rooster) as inspiration for the colors in this new house. Nature is bold and amazing, so they decided to give in to the power! The cocks comb red floors are dazzling and inspirational while the dark wood trim and tropical wood accents and natural slate bathrooms bring an earthiness to the overall design of the house.
This two story house has 2 King bedroom suites with a/c and private bathroom on the first floor. Each King suite is designed with full privacy in mind. Heading up the Kauaian Kamani paneled staircase to the second floor you'll find views from the dining room (which comfortably seats 8) the cozy living room, and the fabulous ipe lanai. Also on the second floor is the third a/c bedroom with 2 Twin Beds that can be used for children or converted to another King bed. There's also the shower room and a full stainless steel, fully stocked kitchen. The owners believe preparation of meals is a major part of the vacation rental experience and want yours to be fun, easy and memorable.
The exterior is lushly landscaped and framed for privacy. Although this home is located on the main road of Hanalei, the speed limit is only 25 mph. here and once you enter the Hanalei Waterfall House gate you are transported to another dimension. There is a small guest house on the property that the owners live in while on island. Each house has a separate entrance and parking area; your privacy is of the utmost importance to them.
Situated at the start of Hanalei town the National Wildlife Refuge of Hanalei Valley sits just behind the taro fields behind the house. People come from around the globe to see the endangered Hawaiian goose, the Nene, fly freely overhead. Many species of birds, including the endangered and endemic, can be seen from the lanai. When you finished viewing all that mother nature has to offer from the house, take a stroll to famed Hanalei Bay in 10 minutes or less for miles of white sand.
It's located on the Nationally Registered Historic Roadway, Kuhio Highway, just past the historic Hanalei Bridge. If you are familiar with the area this house is the fourth building mauka side after the bridge, just past Postcards restaurant and across the street from the BEST SHAVE ICE IN HAWAII! |
