The Hanalei Gourmet

A great eatery at the hub of Hanalei town, the Hanalei Gourmet has been around since 1985. Many Hanalei restaurants have come and gone, while the Gourmet has been consistently feeding the masses. The food is approachable and slightly gourmet, but with an environment non-pretentious and inviting. There's even a bar with "happy hour" and local entertainment in the evenings.

Hanalei town has many options for food, but for eating good food on a casual time table the Hanalei Gourmet is the best choice for easy walk up service. Their simple concept is to make good food, and treat you good in the process. Serving up lunches and dinners, and also featuring a "take out" deli counter adjacent to the restaurant for those wanting to pack a picnic "to-go" for your North Shore adventures.

The Hanelei Gourmet is easy to find, located in two of the old classrooms in the former Hanalei public school building that now serves as a shopping center in the heart of town. The Gourmet has a great caf environment, with chalkboard menus remnant of the classroom days. It also feels like it could be your local caf anywhere else in the world, making for comfort in environment and food choices. Some of the actual "nightlife" in Hanalei town occurs here in the evenings most nights except for Mondays and Thursdays. Best to call them for details on the weeks performers, as well as other special offerings such as the "Thursday Fish Taco Night" which may vary seasonally.

Parking Tips:
There is a back entrance to the Hanalei Gourmet with a bunch of hidden parking spaces. If coming from Princeville, turn left just prior to the old school building into the first parking lot, drive to rear of lot and look for spaces on the right behind the building.
