Our Kilauea vacation rentals offer the perfect setting for an idyllic Hawaii vacation. Set on the lush and verdant northern shore of the Garden Island of
Kauai, Kilauea is a small yet charming town easy access to some of the island's finest beaches.
Things To Do
The Kilauea Point Lighthouse is one of Kauai's top visitor attractions, perched on the ocean bluff at the northernmost spot in the Hawaiian Islands. The lighthouse is located in a wildlife refuge area and you can join in on one of the guided hikes which views the nesting areas of a variety of native seabirds. Atop the peninsula bluff where the lighthouse is located is also a great place to spot humpback whales swimming offshore during the winter months.
From Kilauea town it's just a ten minute drive to the
Princeville Resort where you can go ziplining or horseback riding at the Princeville Ranch. Try stand up paddle boarding or surfing in Hanalei Bay, or head out to the end of the road on the north shore to see more pristine beaches or enjoy the day hike to
Hanakapiai Valley along the famed
Na Pali Coast.
Eat and Shop
Kilauea town offers numerous places to eat and shop. For boutique shopping check out Island Soap & Candle Works in the Kong Lung center where you can also grab a slice of pizza or fresh-baked goods at Kilauea Bakery and Pau Hana Pizza. Two Farmers Markets are held each week in
Kilauea town, one on Saturday at 11:30 and one on Thursday at 4:30. For a great fruit smoothie try Banana Joes just off the Kuhio Hwy. near the entrance to Kilauea town. Their seasonal fruits provide delicious exotic surprises from lychee and papaya to mango, longan, rambutan and of course bananas!
More great shopping and dining options can be found in the Princeville Resort area, and just down the hill from Princeville in
Hanalei town.
Getting Around
A rental car is recommended when staying in Kilauea vacation rentals giving you easy access to all of the great north shore beaches, championship golf courses, the elegance of Princeville Resort, and the shopping, dining and nightlife along the Coconut Coast to the south.
