The Bistro

Description

The Bistro has been hosting great food and entertainment on Kauai's North Shore since 1999. Located in the heart of the quaint town of Kilauea, you instantly get a much more laidback relaxed feel here, yet the service dwarfs many of the other establishments in the area serving gourmet caliber food and drink. The open aired ambiance lends itself well to casual lunches or dinners, rain or shine.

Formerly known as the "Lighthouse Bistro" due to its proximity to the famed Kilauea Lighthouse, this is the only place in Kilauea with good sit-down table service for lunch, and dinner. Most eateries here are take-outs, or patio seating with self-service, which makes the Bistro the" take a break", or "make a date" spot for restaurant dining for this region of the North Shore. The food and mixed cocktail variety make it a good choice for parties with multiple dietary interests. Local sourced ingredients make the menu worth exploring, and don't forget the specials crafted around the abundant farm and fresh catch possibilities in the area.

The evenings give the Bistro a special ambiance as the surrounding shopping areas close, and the small towns' only music venue springs to life, featuring local musicians on Thursday through Saturday evenings, usually with a Hawaiian flare.
Reservations are recommended for dinner or any larger parties. The lunch and bar seating is easy for just dropping in, if you find yourself cruising through the area.

Our staff's picks:
Loved the Guava Rita: Patron silver, triple sec, fresh lime juice & yummy guava puree, served in a martini glass. The "Fish Rockets" from the appetizers, as well as the ribs were delicious. The Delmonico Strip Sirloin was tender and so delicious.
