Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The pictures do not do it justice. It was very clean, spacious, quiet and very relaxing! The only reason for not giving it 5 stars would be due to the fact that the back of the house could use a little cleaning or fresh coat of paint, but overall the house is beautiful!

The property was perfect. We noticed all the updates and how clean the proprety was. Also, the property is very well stocked. We were not in need of anything. It was a perfect location and a wonderfully relaxing vacation.

The vacation rental was close to perfect for our group. There were 3 couples, 2 kids and 2 single adults. The layout of the house was really nice for such a large party. We all loved the pool and backyard especially. The location if you are staying on the South Shore is quite ideal. Just minutes from Poipu Beach and the local shops. We had a few issues with the house but nothing too major where it impacted our vacation. The garbage disposal did not work and when using the stove, we did not realize that you needed to use the utility lighter to ignite it. Costco and Safeway are about 20 minutes away which was nice. Buy all your needs there first as the house does not really come with any supplies for cooking. The local shops minutes away are really expensive for grocery shopping. Also, keep all the screens closed so flies, cockroaches and bugs do not enter the house. We did read there was construction next door, which there was but it did not really bother us since we were out and about most of the day. The other thing to note is check in is not until 5 pm. Our flight arrived in the morning and when traveling with small children it was important for us that we could check in a little early. Luckily when we called they were able to accommodate this request. We also requested a later check out by an hour which was also fine. Overall, the house is really lovely and we all had a great time in Kauai. We would come back in a heartbeat.

View of rental property on website looks as if this is a fairly new house. It is not. It is several years old and many things need repair, maintenance or replacement. Maintenance guy was there when we got to the house and had to come back a couple of times during our stay. House was very open and space was nice. Kitchen well outfitted. Pool needs resurfacing. Unknown to us before arriving is that renters are required to wash sheets/towels before leaving or face an additional charge. We found this unacceptable since we were already paying over $500 for a cleaning fee for our stay.

Manager's response: On the positive side, we are getting issues taken care of at Kiahuna Ocean View as they arise. Kiahuna Ocean View is quite popular and books well. Scheduling maintenance work at this busy vacation rental can be difficult. We have to try to do repairs before guests arrive. Unfortunately sometimes it occurs on days when we have people checking out and people checking in on the same day and run into guests' stay. We apologize for the inconvenience. Yes, we realize that visually it is disconcerting. However, we keep the pool clean and pristine. It does not take away the enjoyment of having a pool right out your back yard. Resurfacing has been scheduled for the month on September. We've had to wait until our guests that has booked ahead can come and enjoy their vacation before the owners drain and resurface the pool. The sign we post on the washer is to discourage guests from soiling ALL the bed comforters and using ALL the extra sheets and ALL towels that we provide for their convenience. With these back-to-backs, laundry takes the longest to do. There are times guests leave housekeepers to treat soil, blood and red dirt stains. Most guests are considerate and take care of the home, but some are not. Doing a load of laundry of towels the night before their departure is not much to ask of guests and is merely a courteous gesture to the housekeeper for her hard work of presenting to these guests a very clean and beautiful home! Extra charges is only assessed if there are more than 5 loads of laundry. Often times, the housekeeper does not charge the extra load or two.

I loved the island and would love to go back, as there are things such as hiking and taking the helicopter tour that I would like to do -but due to weather, could not do. We enjoyed the house very much, and having the space and private pool was really nice. There are some suggestions that I would make. The house is quite dated and needs some work done. The shower in the upstairs bathroom was not useable. Another suggest is that the directions to the house were poor - and arriving at night made it even more difficult. Thank you.

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay in spite of the weather. We also appreciate when guest make suggestions so that we may improve. Since receiving the suggestions we have addressed the poor directions to ensure navigational ease in the night. We have contracted repairs for the bathroom and currently working with the owner on further improvements. At times we need the voices of our guest to convince the owners to upgrade.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is perfect for a multigenerational vacation. The grand kids loved the pool and the house has 2 wings plus an upstairs bedroom. So every family had their own space and would hangout together in the grand room , kitchen and patio. The office was slow and not responding to the problem of a dead cat under the window. That should have been taken care of immediately. There for 4 stars instead of 5.

Upon receiving a call from the guest regarding the cat, our office immediately contacted the Kauai Humane Society to remove & dispose of the feline that day. Unfortunately, it is beyond our control how quickly they will respond. We have been apologetic to these guest for this inconvenience and extended a late check out at no charge.
