Kahalekai was better than we had anticipated -- it was perfect for our family. We loved the quiet neighborhood. Six adults and three small children had an abundance of room. The views were incredible from all rooms and the patios. The children loved the tidepools, which were easily accessible -- be sure you bring or buy aqua shoes. The waves crashing on the rocks lulled us to sleep each night. The botanical garden across the street was an added bonus. Even though there is no air conditioning, the ceiling fans in all the rooms and the shaded yards kept us comfortable. Koloa is a quaint little town not too far away; be sure to check out Island Soap and Candal Works -- you'll be drawn there by the lucious fragrance. Lupperts Ice Cream Shop is also a place you do not want to miss. Driving is relaxed and unrushed, but there is quite a bit of traffic. The breathtaking helicopter tour is well worth the expense -- and the risk. Our tour was with Air Kauai. We all loved the island and would definitely recommend Kahalekai.

Our stay at Hale Nalu was a true visit to Paradise. The sunny Poipu Beach area of Kauai was a great place to relax, swim, snorkel and surf. Snorkel Bob's (about 2 miles away on Koloa Road) is a good place to rent snorkel sets, as well as beach accessories such as chairs, umbrellas, and coolers. Our favorite beach was the one adjacent to the Sheraton (surfing lessons are available there, also). Good snorkeling areas are at Hoona Beach, Koloa Landing, and adjacent to the Beach House restaurant. Spouting Horn is an easy walk -- go first thing in the morning, and you will have the place to yourself. The house was beautiful. The back deck is nicely shaded until about noon -- a wonderful place to relax. We recommend Hale Nalu very highly.
Kris H., Las Vegas, NV, 6.17.07
The unit was clean and included everything that we needed. The view was great there! We loved snorkeling, watching the turtles and going on a couple of helicopter trips. The Beach house had some very tasty food and Lappert's was wonderful for coffe. We were dissapointed with Tomkat's.
Jane P., Berlin, CT, 6.7.07
The unit was very nicely updated and we loved spending evenings on the lanai. Although it is close enought to walk to Poipu beach, it is farther than you woud probably want to walk for dinner and drinks. We found great seared Ahi at the Koloa fish market in Koloa town. We took the trip up the Napili coast with Kauai Fun Tours, they were great. I think it is a better option than the inflatables. We booked him at Breneke's (good happy hour). My advice to some staying in this unit is go snorkeling at Ke'e beach, and make sure that the refrigerator door closes all the way (it does not on it's own).
Bill O., Kent, WA, 5.28.07
I loved the vacation! Kauai is a very fun but relaxing island. The Kai Lani was Great with a fabulous view and pool. It got a little hot. The house could use more fan's and the cottage updated. But the house had everything you could need. We cooked at the house several times and enjoyed all the local restaurants. We spent several days filled with activities on the island and several days relaxing bye the pool. I would definitely recommend this house and location for any vacation.
Elisa M., Katy, TX, 5.24.07
The location was excellent; and the accomodations very comfortable. We enjoyed eating our meals on the front lanai; watching the surf at Baby Beach through the window. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Allan W., Vancouver, WA, 4.22.07
We had a wonderful time and the rental lived up to the pictures. It was very comfortable even without air conditioning! Thank you so much!
Ruth C., Tucson, AZ, 4.17.07
We had a wonderful time staying at your bungalow. It was the perfect place for our 4 yr. old and 16 month old. The Baby Beach was terrific. Thanks to you we made many memories!
Tuyen and Ted B., Mill Valley, California, 4.16.07
We had a wonderful trip to Kauai this year. The Kai Lani is a beautiful property that fit our families needs perfectly. What a great location! We all enjoyed the pool, patio and of course watching the sea turtles from the waters edge.We will definately rent the Kai Lani again.Thank you for your hospitality!
Connie or Bill M., Saugus, CA, 4.9.07
Honulani was better than expected. the view off the back deck and patio of the ocean are unbelieveable -we saw sea turtles, whales and dolphin all while having our coffee or bbqing. The house itself is nothing fancy but is spacious, clean and fully stocked with any appliance or utensil you could possibly need. Perfect for a family with kids coming in from a day on the beach or in the mountains.
David M., Winnetka, IL, 4.3.07
What a wonderful vacation rental and what a wonderful view! We had a blast!
Cristina D., Alamo, CA, 3.25.07
I really enjoyed the house and will look to rent it again and again over the years.
Scott W., Palm Desert, CA, 11.30.06
I would recommend staying at Hale Kai. In fact, I've been telling everyone about it! The location was perfect and the view was amazing. I can't wait to go back.
Deborah W., Portland, OR, 11.20.06
What a beautiful house!! We had such a great time and will be back again!!
Amy S., Santa Clara, CA, 11.13.06
We SO thoroughly enjoyed our week in Honulani that it won't be long before we are back again. The house was polished to a shine when we arrived and held us, our three small children and nanny perfectly. (The baby slept in a portable crib in the enormouse master bedroom closet, our older girls shared the room with twin beds and the nanny had the room with the queen bed.) The kitchen is big and amply stocked and there are tons of fresh towels. I have never rented such a great house and only wish they had nicer pillows on the beds. The location is perfect and quiet but not too far from the relative bustle of Poipu Beach and the grocery store in Koloa. Little kids will be happy digging in the small patch of sand next to the lawn or you can walk less than 5 minutes to a slightly larger piece of beach. You can surf the break off that same little beach, play tennis for $10 a person at Kiahuna Plantation and run through the Poipu Beach resort area to see what you aren't missing.
Helen D., Portland, OR, 11.6.06
Everything was great, thank you.
Marjorie T., Novato, CA, 10.23.06
We loved the house and the location.
Aaron P., San Diego, CA, 10.20.06
Incredible views and beautifully decorated rooms. Well-equipped kitchen. only issue was cell phone reception was inconsistent. but that could be a broader issue w/ the island vs the house itself. overall it was a truly wonderful stay.
Elaine W., New York, NY, 10.8.06
A very well designed and equipped house in a perfect location. We could not have chosen better for our first visit to Kauai.
Andrew M., Aldershot, Hampshire, 10.1.06
It was a perfect family vacation rental for 6 people. There was something for everyone within walking distance...snorkeling, body boarding, swimming. I would definitely stay there again. We saw lots of turtles and even a seal from the beach. We even walked to the Marriott and sat at the bar for a sunset cocktail. It was great.
Jessica B., San Marcos, CA, 9.30.06
Fantastic house!!! Incredible views, nicely maintained and decorated. We loved it and WILL be back! Thank you so much for sharing this house with us.
Mark B., , , 9.30.06
It was a great place - view was great.....we saw a large tortise that had come up on the beach and enjoyed the sunsets Alll in all, it had a feel of home and being on vacation. We will definitely book our next trip and stay there.
Jan and Frank R., , , 9.25.06
This is a great house, very nicely decorated and superb location. Watch wonderful sunsets from the front yard and spot turtles every evening.
Scott V., Tustin, CA, 9.17.06
Such a nice place with the best view EVER! If you stay here, say hi to the sea turtles for us!
Brett L., Aberdeen, MD, 9.17.06
We enjoyed our stay very much. The Villa was very clean, which is important to us. Compared to our last rental, we thought we might have some basics such as coffee, salt, pepper, etc. We noted the other villas in this complex were not rented. Why were we offered only the one? Would have enjoyed Honu Kai Villa 1 if we could have had the choice. Thank you! We certainly will use your service in the future.
Jackie R., Lincoln, NE, 8.27.06
We had a great time, the view was beautiful and the condo was well equiped. Thanks again for a memorable vacation.

Had a fine time. Thanks.
Nancy K., Moneta, VA, 7.10.06
I have rented this unit for my parnets-in-law, and they were extremely happy with it. It had awesome view, huge balcony, nice furnishing and was very, very clean. They also liked the fact that the bedrooms were very far away from each other which allowed them not to hear noise from their 2 teenage boys, and they really rested. They wanted to rent this particular unit again next time they visit Kauai. Thank you very muchrnTatyana and Vadim Frayman
Vladimir F., North Hollywood, CA, 7.10.06
The condo was great for our family of 5.
Nikki T., San Jose, CA, 7.6.06
This home is wonderful! Everything you can think of is taken care of....beautiful furnishings, location, view and amenities! We loved our week in Kauai and were sorry to see it end. We would definitely recommend this rental to everyone! Can't wait to return again!
Heather J., Tustin, CA, 6.25.06
Great home, perfect pool & Hot tub. House lacks a few amenities.
Rex G., Tacoma, Washington, 6.16.06
We left more personal notes in the guestbook at Honulani, but some further comments ... we loved the place overall, it worked great for the combined vacations of the two families staying there.
Karen T., , , 6.1.06

The condominium unit was very well appointed
Mary D., Edmonds, WA, 4.5.06
The place was fantastic!! Lots of room, great pool and hot tub and the view was incredible! We saw whales jumping out of the water, dolphins, you name it, it was there. This will definitely be a yearly trip!!
Cristina D., Alamo, CA, 3.12.06

Emma and Jim B., San Anselmo, Ca, 2.28.06
Beautiful house and location.
Joyce G., Hailey, ID, 2.6.06
This beautiful home was ideal for a family vacation! Very comfortable and lots of room (there were 10 of us - 6 adults, one teenager, a 4 yr old and two toddlers). The home was well equipped for cooking and laundry, and the pool was handy, especially for the children. We loved whale watching and dining on the balcony, and it was wonderful to have the beach and snorkeling just a few steps away from the house! We loved every minute of our stay! Mahalo
Barbara F., Frezno, Ca, 1.21.06
This was a great home to vacation in. Very clean, beautiful, and lots of room. Each bedroom was it's own little get away.
Deborah D. F., Anchorage, AK, 12.10.05
Very cool. Clean, great location, lush landscaping, etc., etc.
Eric L., Taos, NM, 12.8.05
Beautiful house, excellent location! Love the ocean breeze and the cute dog (Koa) that lives up the street. Truly paradise.
Katherine S., Dublin, CA, 12.6.05
We vacationed with our three 82-year old parents at Kai Lani. They loved the house, particularly the big lanai. They also liked walking along the relatively flat road that runs along the ocean to the national tropical botanical garden and a small farmers market about half a mile away, or to a beach about half a mile in the other direction.
Chris S., Portola Valley, CA, 11.19.05
Enjoyed our stay at Poipu Makai very much! It was a wonderful location. One morning we were treated to an hour's display of frolicing dolphins, and for four days we had anywhere from two to six sea turtles in the surf below the condo. Very quiet property and a nicely appointed unit. Upon key-return, I mentioned to Jim that your data for unit B1 needs to be updated that it DOES have a dishwasher and also a DVD/VCR unit. FYI the CD player doesn't work, but would rather listen to the surf anyhow! Owner might consider installing a shower curtain in the master bath, but this isn't a complaint.
Vicki A., Portland, OR, 10.18.05
Great house, with excellent proximity to the ocean. Likes included the pool, was EXCELLENT. Dislikes included leaving any food or water out for even a few minutes attracted a ton of little ants/bugs and for a 4 million dollar house in hawaii to not have air conditioning is kind of a deterent from wanting to stay there again. October was humid and we could have really used some a/c! Other than that, was very clean and enjoyed it!
Kevin W., The Dalles, Oregon, 10.17.05
This house was a dream (although a bit hot). We're already planning our return trip next summer. It's great for kids and adults alike. What a great place to relax and spend time with your family.
Susan S., Los angeles, CA, 9.3.05
Absolutely gorgeous! We had a wonderful time and the place was great! Just wish it were a bit less expensive!
Amy S., Cincinnati, OH, 6.28.05
We loved the house and the awesome views. Plan to definitely return and hopefully will be able to stay in your home again. Such a nice touch, it is truely home away from home
Shanna C., Albuquerque, NM, 6.11.05
It was wonderful, beautiful, and so very relaxing!
Michael and Barbara L., Mill Valley, Ca, 6.11.05
Hale Ma'ana Hou was a dream home! My fiance and I went to Kauai for our wedding and wanted the our immediate families to stay together for the week. We had both sets of parents, two siblings, a brother-in-law and a friend stay with us at the wonderful house! It was a great time! Big enough so we weren't all on top of eachother but small enough that we felt like we had a lot of time together! We loved the pool and snorkeling right out the back gate! Amazing views, privacy and ocean breezes! If I was to go back to Kauai (and I definitely will!) with a big group I would definitely pick Hale Ma'ana Hou again! Well worth the price!
Sarah H., San Diego, CA, 6.6.05
Paradise! This property and home exceed your expectations. Your own pool/spa overlooking the ocean was truly the most relaxing vacation is years!
Lots of privacy, not a care in the world!
Monique B., Murrieta, Ca, 5.23.05
Loved the layout of the house, and the seclusion. Sitting on the back porch watching the sea turtles and the giant manta ray flipping in the water, is an experience I am certain I shall never forget.
Carl E., Laguna Hills, Ca, 5.2.05
What a wonderful place!!! They really know how to treat their guests and provide all the comforts of home. It would be nice if they had a ceiling fan in the living room, as we found it rather hot, but the cross breezes do help a bit. We would highly recommend this place as a comfortable, beautiful, and welcoming vacation destination.
Joan R., Ottawa, Ontario Canada, , 2.15.05
Housekeeping when we arrived was excellent. Thanks for your excellent service for the rental process. Bill
Bill B., Venice, FL, 1.25.05
The setting is exquisite, views up and down the coastline which included the spouting horn and views of whales, seals and dolphins. The kitchen is well-stocked and all bedrooms have awesome views of the ocean.

Great to have the ocean right outside your front door! A mother and baby monk seal were right up the beach and we spent time watching them every day.
