Alii Kai was a good place for my husband and I to stay at in Kauai. Not staying at a mega resort made us want to enjoy more of the many outdoors activities the island has to offer. The condo was spacious enough for 2 couples, both with ocean views. If you come out on to the deck, you can see the sunset over Hanelei Bay in the distance to the north. The ocean view was wide and expansive, and it was amazing to see the rain fall on the ocean from a far. The unit is adequate, although there are little to no spices and some areas lack a thorough cleaning. But it was still a tidy, spacious place and a good deal compared to what you get elsewhere. Places to go: dinner and entertainment in Hanalei for sure and go for pupus / drinks at the Princeville Resort at the terrace bar and the Hyatt over in Koloa when you drive to that side of the island. Save the money on lodging and visit these beautiful resorts for the ambiance and drinks.
This unit was wonderfully located on the cliff. Spectactular views from sunrise to sunset from the living room to the master bedroom. The condo was nicely decorated and made for a great home base. The #3 building and the #4 building are both the best in the Alii Kai I complex and we felt fortunate to stay there. This location was the best place to end our honeymoon. Thanks.

Enjoyed the accommodation and the briefing on the Monday giving local knowledge of where to go and what to see - this was excellent. Enjoyed visiting the island although would have been nice to stay longer - recommend to anyone.
What I liked best about the unit I rented was⦠the amazing view and the comfort of the unit - lots of room! The customer service I received was⦠superb. Ginny was so helpful and very pleasant to work with. The best part of my trip was⦠being in such a beautiful place with my husband for two full weeks! The best restaurant I found was⦠the Princeville Hotel Sunday brunch. The best picture I took was of me (us)⦠on Heana beach. I can't wait to tell all my friends that⦠we saw whales off our lanai eating breakfast one morning. My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be⦠to enjoy the pool, we were consistently the only ones at the pool... it's a hidden gem. The part of my trip I would definitely recommend to others is⦠to see the Waimea canyon. The best "insider tip" I received while on my trip was⦠to make the hike and explore Queens Bath, it's walking distance from the unit and so unique. I didn't have time this trip, but next trip to Hawaii I'm looking forward to⦠island jumping!
