Hale Makana is a spacious ocean bluff home perched right above the Pacific at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Princeville Resort on Kauai's famed North Shore. Close to award-winning golf courses, shops, restaurants and adventures, the home provides luxurious accommodations for families and groups. A favorite rental in the past, it has gone through a metimorphasis with the new owners taking great lengths to modernize and update the furnishings, appliances, and features of the home. Beautiful Hawaiian artwork adorns the walls, while the natural beauty provides spectacular views from almost every room. The master bedroom looks out over the pool to an unobstructed 180 degree ocean view with access to two lanais or decks. This is one of the premier whale watching locations on Kauai, and seeing their spouts is an almost daily occurrence during the winter months. Dolphins and turtles are also regular visitors to this coastline and even the extremely rare Hawaiian monk seals have been spotted playing in the water below.

The Hale Makana was the VERY BEST! The views and setting are indescribably wonderful, with whales jumping and turtles swimming below in the water. Mary Patterson welcomed us to Hale Makana and was incredibly helpful to us during our stay, we can't say thank you enough for your kindness to our family. The only things we regret about our stay is that is was nearly not long enough, 10 days was way to short a time to enjoy all the wonders of Kauai, as well as the views of the mountains and the frothing ocean from the lanai of Hale Makana. We are very grateful to the Adams for sharing their beautiful home with us, you made our 30th anniversary the BEST! Thank you! We were want for nothing! (except perhaps, air conditioning! But only to close off the stickyness of the tropical air). rnThe two priorities we had for renting were pool and oceanfront. This home has the best oceanfront view on the Princeville bluff. It's even better than the Princeville hotel view!! Every morning we would wake up and look down from the front yard to Queen's Bath, where we could not only watch people cliff jumping, but we could watch the sea turtles lazily floating about! We watched the sunset over Bali Hai from the jacuzzi (although, we think it was installed backwards, as the the best seat is in front of the filter)rnThe mosquitos on the north shore are horrendous! But nothing you can really to do about that, except wear your OFF! as your cologne! And, oh ya...Jay and Karen...thanks for the tease with the LOCKED wine refrigerator!! :) EVERYTHING about this home was perfect. Huge amount of space and very well appointed. Nothing was lacking here. Property was postcard pretty. Only complaint all week were the bothersome flies while outside. No mosquitos though! 8/06rnps... fresh flowers inside were just lovely!
