Best: the view to the north - makes for a lot of shade and a cooler place and a great view of whales every day (during season). It was also a quiet place to stay in. We give it 4 stars: we had a very good stay. The day trip to Waimea Canyon and Kalalau Lookout was one of the highlights. Bring hiking boots if you wish to hike the Kalalau trail (at sea level) at the western end of the road. The first section (4 miles return) is arduous and will take plenty of time to complete. Plan to canoe/kayak the (flat water)Wailua River. Go snorkel at Anini Beach safely inside the reef. The Mediterranean restaurant at the resort west of Hanalei is well situated on the beach and has a good menu, friendly service. A visit to the Kilauea Lighthouse is a must.
The condo could use a little map of the Princeville properties with any walking paths and trails indicated (we never knew how to find the Queen's Bath, although it is near). We did not need the laundry facility, but others may appreciate a note where it is located. Visitors do NOT need a parking permit or other evidence of occupancy in spite of the sign that unauthorized cars will be towed. Things inside the condo were clean (kitchen) and working although a poor little dried out gecko in one corner in the living room suggests that the chairs are not necessarily moved every time when vacuuming... And, of course, with sea spray, it is difficult to keep all windows clean all the time (we noticed Cluster D's windows getting a cleaning while we were there).
We will certainly recommend Sealodge to anyone and would not hesitate to make it our base when we return to Kaua'i.

Aloha,
The best aspect of the rental was the view from the living room. The customer service I received was very good. The unit was very nice but there were some large scuff marks on the wall in the bedroom that need painting. The toilet bowl needs a new float mechanism or at least adjustment; it tended to run without filling the bowl. Also we were not supplied with a bathmat for the shower. The kitchen was nicely equiped with start up items but the silverware is rather tired and needs replacing. The reading light hardware for the bedroom is suffering from salt air corrosion. It was nice having the binoculars for whale watching. There were two masks and a snorkle which would of been great to use but one mask had a broken stap and the snorkle device needs to be thrown out; poor valve.
We would certainly return and recommend friends to Sealodge.

I don't know where to begin to say how wonderful our stay in Kawai was. The island is stunning and there was lots to do. The beaches were the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life. Also the "Movie Tour" was lots of fun. Another hilight of our holiday was walking the Power Line Trail, though it was hard work, it was well worth it to see the island from a different view. Sealodge was a fantastic place to stay, the views are outstanding and I would recommend staying to anyone. Thanks to all at Beach Rentals for their prompt attention to our queries and advice and help when booking.

We enjoyed the view, deck, and pool. The layout of the place was fine. We were disappointed in the toilet which had a very loud and prolonged flush, the kitchen pans which were very scratched up and not safe to use given their teflon material, and the bed. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the covering was musky and old. We loved being in the Hanalei Bay area and found Kauai to be gorgeous. We though the Sealodge units were quite tasteful from the outside.
