There are those of us that like to spend our vacations doing absolutely nothing. To these sorts of people, a vacation is a chance to get away from work or from the responsibilities of daily life. There is nothing wrong with this line of thinking, but there is also another group of vacationers out there. This is a group that finds a vacation destination then automatically seeks out what sort of active, fun things they can partake in. If this latter group finds themselves in Kauai, theyll have a lot to choose from.
Renting a Kauai vacation property opens you up not only to those beautiful sandy beaches and gorgeous sunsets, it also means youll have all sorts of activities at your fingertips. You can choose to hit the Kauai beaches and give surfing a try. Whats more Hawaiian than that? Or, you can try some of the other more traditional Kauai beach activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, or windsurfing. When youre being kissed by the sun all day, it just makes sense that your activities would be outside on the beach.
But what about Kauai activities that are a little less traditional? What sort of things can you find off the beaten path? Well, you can leave the luxury of your Kauai vacation property for the ruggedness of the hiking trail and find some of the most breathtaking sights anywhere. And since more than 90% of Kauai is inaccessible by road, there are a lot of sights that only a handful of people will get to see. Those active souls that choose to hike through Kauais natural beauty are a big part of that handful.
But where do you go when there is so much land to cover? Waimea Canyon State Park is a great place to start, and may be the place to go if you can only make one stop on your trip. This Kauai canyon is almost ten miles long and was dubbed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific by Mark Twain. The views are breathtaking, and can vary throughout the day, depending on how the sun hits the rocks. For those that want a little closer view, camping is available in certain areas of the canyon.
As you can see, renting a Kauai vacation property doesnt have to be all about sipping mai tais on the beach and watching the sunset. Of course, after a long day of soaking in Kauai activities, that may not sound like such a bad idea!
