The view from this unit was very nice and the furnishings in the condo were nice. The kitchen was equipped for a vacation rental. I would like the property management company and also the owner to know that the unit's windows were very dirty and in need of being cleaned. In addition the base moldings in the unit needed cleaning. There was a dead (thank heaven) centipede or millipede near the door in the second bedroom. There were also dead flowers in a yellow water pitcher on the lanai. I would expect a $130.00 cleaning fee per renter to leave the unit in better condition than this.
My advise to further provide quality service to your guests would be to include a butcher knife, (a least one quality butcher knive and a wood cutting board)
Steve, the owner was great. He left us chocolates and coffee and said to call if we needed anything. The furnishings were very nice and the cottage had a completely stocked kitchen with nice tableware. The grounds were very well maintained and beautiful. Laundry equipment was clean and new. We had a good supply of towels and beach towels. It was a very nice cottage for a couple on vacation and the price was very good. The bathroom was well stocked and had many items like shampoo and sunblock.
Please note, there are geckos that will get in the room. This is the tropics and I have traveled before so we know and expect it. I have found them in fancy hotels, so it is part of life and part of the Kaui experience...............besides they are cute and eat the bugs. Also, there are some mosquitos at night on the Island because of all of the rain and standing water. Make sure you have insect repellant or buy some in town when you land.
First let me comment on what could be improved: Overall maintenance before guest arrived. The first time someone went up the stairs the second to the bottom and second to the top broke. It was lucky someone was not hurt. You did get someone out to fix it within two hours. The outside showers were not clean. We had to clean them. The bottom hinge on the door to the second bedroom came out of the wall. We called and no one came to fix it. It was difficult to open and close the door without hurting the top hinge. The lock boxes are very difficult to use. The one for the bottom unit the numbers are worn off and you have to guess at the number. Now for all the good stuff. The location for us was excellent as we could walk to the beach. We love the beach. The unit for both our familites having the downstairs as well as the upstairs is perfect. The upstairs balcony is where we had all our meals - what a view. The downstairs was perfect for my wife and I. As I rated it overall excellent and we are all planning a return trip. Mahalo, John
Annie's Studio was the perfect size for the 2 of us and it was very well equiped. Our favorite resturant in Hanalei was the Polynesian Cafe. Hanalei is our favorite vacation spot and the studio was in a wonderful location. We would walk to the beach every day and swim down to the pier. The best picture we took was of us on the Zip line adverture trip. Harriet Anderson
The unit was clean and included everything that we needed. The view was great there! We loved snorkeling, watching the turtles and going on a couple of helicopter trips. The Beach house had some very tasty food and Lappert's was wonderful for coffe. We were dissapointed with Tomkat's.
What I liked best about this unit was the location on the North Shore, and proximity to Hanalei Bay. Beautiful sunsets from the beach, and a great little town center within walking distance from this home. Also enjoyed the hammock and bbq on the patio. My advice to someone else staying here would be to purchase (or bring) your own pillows, as the ones provided were awfully flat and hurt my neck. Overall, a wonderful vacation and the most beautiful place I have ever been.
Hanalei Bay Resort was beautiful, the views spectacular, accessibility to the entire North Shore was excellent, including to the beach and facilities at the Princeville Hotel, right next door. The restaurant was very nice, great view, and friendly service. The only minor complaint was the particular room we had, which left alot to be desired with decor. There was only a king-sized bed, two stools, and a dresser. There wasn't a single chair to sit on in the room, nor a table. I saw other comparable rooms while there which were decorated much better and more user-friendly. But, overall, the place was beautiful and we really enjoyed it.
The only problem with the complex was the pool and Jacuzzi, it was very plain and small. If it were just my wife and I, I would come back, but if I brought the kids, I would have to go somewhere else because they would use the pool quite a lot. But the unit itself was very nice and we had a wonderful time.
This home was fabulous, will recommend to all my friends and would stay again. Beautiful home with very nice bedding. Everything was as described, no problems, just had a great time. Do have to drive to get to the beach, but it is worth it as the view from the house is great. Mahalo!!
