to find the perfect Kauai vacation.
Namahana Plantation Main House and Guest Cottage - This was a great vacation. The only problem with the guest cottage was that there was not enough time in the day to thoroughly enjoy every day. It was beautiful and relaxing.
Nakea Home - We love Anini beach. The Nakea home was a comfortable well equipped home. We enjoyed watching the whales and dolphins from the front deck. The snorkling was fun also. We saw many sea turtles, beautiul fish, morey eels and an eagle ray. This year we went to the Smith family luau and it was fabulous. We always hike the Napali coast and it is always beautiful. All and all a very memorable trip.
I would also like to mention that this is the second time we have booked through your service and both times the service was very hospitable. Mahalo, Karen Gardner
Mohalu Princeville - How can you possibly go wrong with the north shore of Kauai as a back-drop? The Mohalu Princeville is set in one of those 'you have to see it to believe it' locations. The unit itself had everything that we wanted and more besides. A full kitchen is a definite advantage for early morning relaxing and indulging. We even had the morning paper most days- compliments of the owner. All in all, our stay will long be remembered--Mahalo for everything!
Alii Kai 9F - Easy to access. Instructions sent to on how to gain access on the first night were clear and keys were in the room as stated. We arrived very late and it was raining. So, finding the room was a little difficult. It would have been nice to have had a drawing of the buildings in the cul de sac and location of the room but it wouldn't have been an issue in daylight and no rain. I didn't have to go to an alternate site to sign in which was most appreciated. Exit was extremely easy....leave the keys in the room. Couldn't have been easier.
Any questions prior to the trip were promptly answered via e-mail or phone call. The weather was horrible but I can't fault the rental property for that. It was great that someone of the staples used by previous renters were there rather than finding cabinets bare. (salt, vegetable oil, rice and coffee. I added to the stash.) Thanks. :)
Hale Hanalei Beach House - Have already sent an email about our stay at Hale Hanalei Beach House, so will not try to touch all suggested points.
As already stated, we were pleased with the condition of the place when we arrived, and the helpfulness extended by Housekeeper Gina upon our arrival. The good condition inspired us to make sure we kept it that way, and - although we did keep sandy footwear and apparel out of the house, we did vacuum the main floor living area every couple of days during our stay.
Our only contacts with "customer service" people were with Gina and Sandy, and they were responsive, courteous and helpful.
The best parts of our trip were our times at beaches and snorkeling. We elected not to bring snorkeling gear with us, we rented gear from the shop next to the Postcard Restaurant in Hanalei, and the man there gave us very good advice on good and safe beaches for snorkeling and swimming; he also provided high-quality gear, although perhaps a bit pricey. I'd go there again!
We tried a number of restaurants, but our best meals were those we prepared ourselves in the cottage. (By the way, I met and talked with a visiting Unilever manager on New Years Eve at the Princeville Resort Hotel who informed us that the Princeville Foodland grocery is the most expensive grocery store in the entire USA!) We had fair to good meals at a restaurant in Kapa'a, and at the restaurant next to Hanalei Colony Resort across the road. (That restaurant did have the best coconut ice cream we'd ever found.) We haven't yet found a restaurant in the area which I would put in the very good to excellent categories, but am willing to keep trying. If you people have restauant recommendations, would suggest you so advise visitors.
My advice to someone else considering staying at our unit would be not to look for the partial ocean view, and to bring quantities of good mosquito repellent.
We would all like to come back and stay at the same place again.
Mahalo,
C. Lazenby
Hale Aloha Kauai - Very nice furnishings and a roomy house. The large patios on front and back are great.
Wailele Ikena Hanalei - This was a beautiful property! It was within walkng distance of the beach and to shopping in Hanelai! Very beautiful area..a bit rainy during the time of year that we were here but it never rained for very long and it was warm and beautiful so we just kept going right through it. I would definately recommend spending some time here.
Hale Ani - The house and location are wonderful, I would highly recommend it to friends and family. A Later check out would be nice since most flights arrive late eve and leave late eve.
