Kauhale Makai 309

The overall facility was clean and had well meintained outside facilities, a good ocean view (whales & all). The customer service and concierge services were very helpful. The unit we stayed in has never been updated and was pretty tired, but not uncomfortable. The carpet needed to be cleaned, and their was barely enough silverware & dishes to get four adults through 2 meals, so we used the dishwasher a lot. We appreciated the iPod dock & DVD player, and the tv's were small but adequate. The bedroom by the lanai was fairty small, especially the bathroom, but OK, but the mattress was getting saggy. The best part of our trip was visiting so many pretty spots on the island, and visiting with many local people. A departing guest gave us more than enough food to last through our stay, which was very nice. Consequently, the only restaurant we visited in Maui was the Casanova Italian Restaurant & Deli in Makawao, which was very good. We passed the remainder of the food on to a recently arrived next door neighbor. The best picture of ourselves was probably with the background of a botanical garden and the ocean surf beyond. I will probably tell people about getting up close to several whales, and being able to see them from our room. If you like to drive on windy mountain roads with no shoulder or guard rail, this is the place to do it. Remember a couple of thing;, most locals know those roads, so pull over if someone is behind you, and let them pass, and locals, especially pokey ones in loaded pickups, will pull out of side streets or driveways if there is no car right in front of them, regardless of a car coming four car lengths away, so either leave no space between you and the car in front of you or be prepared.

This was such a perfect experience I don't want to share it with others who may want to go there!

Kauhale Makai 309

I enjoyed the setting and area where Kauhale Makei is located but was not impressed with our condo. We found several small things wrong with the condo so in the end I would not rate this particular condo high. For example. l. The vent and area above the stove was rusted and filthy. 2. All air vents in the condo were coated with dust. 3. The kitchen cupboards were covered with a sticky substance. Could have been grease or some kind of cleanser not wiped off properly. We think grease as we tried to clean it and it wouldn't come off. 4. The curtain in the front bedroom was partially off the hooks. Also the sliding door in the front bedroom is very difficult to open and then lock when needed. 5. The extra bedding was in poor condition. The pillows were badly stained and the sheets needed replacing. 6. The kitchen sink plugs up at times. Did not drain adequately. 7. There is no lock on the bathroom door in the large back bedroom 8. Not enough kitchen essentials such as a cutting board or knives that actually cut. We bought both and left them for the next renters. 9. Condo door difficult to open. Lock should probably be replaced with new hardware.

Maui Vista 3117

We loved our stay at maui ista suit 3117, felt just like home! I can not wait to tell others to stay there when they travel to maui, i will also stay again when i return!

Beach Estate on Maui

What I liked best about the unit I rented was its proximity to the beach and local amenities, as well as the authentic "Hawaiian" feel of the house. The customer service I received was very good. The best part of my trip was the memories we made together as a family. The best restaurant I found was Stella Blues. I can't wait to tell all my friends that we had a great trip as a family. My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be to make sure you use the services and amenities available to you. The part of my trip I would definitely recommend to others is to stay at a property managed by the Management company that took care of our house-- they were very good. I didn't have time this trip, but next trip I'm looking forward to more scenic drive-- Haleakala, Hana, etc.

Maui Sunset 412B

The suite was nicely located, good views, very well equipped kitchen. No parking issues. The suite was somewhat dated and could use a deep cleaning. Carpet was somewhat dirty and stucco ceiling was dripping was dust bunnies. The suite seemed dark despite all the mirrors which I though were an excellent idea for light as well as giving the appearance of larger size. We ended up taking off the black lamp shade which improved the lighting. I agree with previous residents about perhaps having a darkening shade in the bedroom as it does get very light in there very early in the morning. Shower floor was quite grimey looking as was the tub floor. The gals at the desk and the pool gave fairly curt and limited information. Just did not feel that welcomed. There are ALOT of stores on Maui. There is ALOT of alcohol to be had on Maui. Prices on Maui are high as expected except for the booze. Didn't go to many restaurants. Hit most all of the beaches and found the snorkelling spots. Signage was ambiguous or nonexistent as regards many of the beaches and the hiking walks. Too many "danger signs posted" by a CYA governmental administration make one ignore most all of the signs. Maui was nice but I don't think I will go back again.

Maui Vista

Amazing location! Stocked with starter products-dish soap, sponge, soap etc. WiFi and TV nice. Downstairs corner unit excellent. Washer/Dryer-very nice. Tennis courts excellent. Clean. The bed could have a better mattress but other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Lynn S., Los Gatos, CA, 1.9.12

Hale Pau Hana 107

The Hale Pua Hana has the best location of all Kihei. We loved that we were on the main floor and could walk out. Having beach towels, chairs, and a well supplied kitchen was terrific.

Liane W., Vancouver, BC, 1.7.12

Sugar Beach Resort 540

The view from the corner condo is breathtaking and the afternoons onthe lanei can't be beat.

Sam G., Kirkland, WA, 1.4.12

Maui Sunset 215A

The grounds for the property were great.
The condo could have used some attention and maintenance.
The kids loved Mekena beach.

Cindy P., Katy, TX, 1.2.12

My Waii Beach Cottage

You'll be happy here. You are right on the beach in the center of Kihei and south of where the beach at times gets an influx of seaweed. The kitchen has the most fully equiped rental I've ever stayed; also newly remodeled with all new appliances. The knifes are even sharp, something unusual in a rental in my experience. You could actually get along without a rental car here if not planning to travel outside of South Maui or West Maui. Grocery and resturants, bike rental, etc. are all within walking distance and the Maui Bus ($2.00 for all day) will take you to West Maui, the Marine Center, etc. albeit somewhat slowly.

Charles G., Lopez Island, WA, 12.22.11

Kihei Treehouse Cottage

I ha a wonderful experience at the Kihei tree house and I plan to return to rent it next year. Thank you Pam and Juan, you are the "ono" best! Aloha, Edgar Goldston, Salt Lake City

Edgar G., Heber City, UT, 12.16.11

Maui Sunset 220B

This unit was terrible! It was dirty. There were no trash bags, dish soap or laundry soap, toilet paper, etc. The cupboards were velcroed to stay shut. The cupboards were old & they stunk! The furniture was so discusting & it stunk! The guy downstairs was using the unit before we arrived & was comming in when we arrived to use the fax machine! Never will we stay here again! The washer broke the evening before we left!

Lisa L., Monroe, WA, 12.4.11

Menehune Shores 320

The unit was perfect. A great location, great view, great beach, wonderfully clean and well outfitted with even more than we could use. We loved out Maui vacation and hope to come back soon.

Susan D., Anchorage, AK, 12.2.11

Kihei Treehouse Cottage

An absolutely wonderful place to tour Maui. The host was great and it was in a nice neighborhood within walking distance of Starbucks. What I liked was the small view of the ocean and mountains on their deck which was perfect to read a few books. Definately worth a return trip and well within our budget.

Erik M., Yakima, WA, 11.14.11

Menehune Shores 320

It was great having all the convenience of home and beach equipment was a plus. Condo was very neat and clean and a great view. The grill by the pool were great. Can't think of anything bad about the condo, only exception was the business hours of the Menehune shores, 9 to 1 pm made impossible for us to register, but that worked out ok since we could put a note on car dash. Island of Maui was wonderful, best of all was the trip to Molikini. Lahina was great shopping area. Our favorite restaurant was Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. We would definitely recommend Maui and the Menehune Shores for Condo accommodations. Thanks for making our trip a geat experience.

Janice P., Fort Worth, TX, 11.5.11

Leinaala 205

The best thing about this unit was the location right in front on sunsets...Customer service with Bill and Paula McLane is wonderful, they are very nice people. The best part was the weather, average 32 degrees and not even a drop of rain in 30 days. Restaurants Spices in Kihei and Mai Tai in old lahaina were to remember. Of course, pictures of beaches and sunsets were awesome. Car race at the dirt track is something to see. Every trees and flowers we saw in the streets are the same we find here in flower shops !! The best insider tip I found is the Safeway membership card, it is free and you save close to 20% on everything... We walked every day between one and two hours in different directions and we discover so many nice people, everybody says good morning even if they don't know you. This is a piece of paradise. It was the third time in Maui, we will go back. Lucie and Jean-Guy

Jean-Guy H., Lasalle, QC, 10.29.11

Maui Kamaole I205 Ilima

The convenience & all the amenities
Great service
Everything... Close to the beach, nice accomodations, guide book
Taquiera Fish Tacos
at the Luau at the Marriott
Kihei is actually nicer than Kaanapali
You dont need anything, it is all there & there are several pools & hot tubs
Best insider tip is Haleakala at O dark thirty is well worth the trip
Spend more time at one of the many beaches.
The only thing I wish was different is when there are guests that are arriving, have the unit cooled down. It was 90 degress the day we arrived & the unit had no air or fans on.. Took quite a while to cool down & since you know when we will arrive that would be a huge plus!

Kevin O., Wenatchee, Wa, 10.23.11

Hale Lele Villa

This was a family vacation for us, my husband, me, three sons, one daughter, three daughters-in-law and two grandsons! Hale Lele Villa was perfect. We rented the Penthouse and Poolside Bungalow. There was lots of room for everybody, the place was very clean when we arrived and we found it to be very children friendly. The grounds are lovely - both the grounds and the house are very interestingly, but enjoyably decorated. Our Hostess, Scarlett, was so kind to us and rounded out our vacation nicely. Thank you to all of you - we will be back.

Joan C., Coquitlam, BC, 10.19.11

Kihei Treehouse Cottage

The house felt like a cozy home! The hosts were so caring and accommodating!! They have thought about every single thing - we missed nothing throughout our stay - we even had the surf boards waiting for us there... We loved the attitude of our hosts and we are definitely coming back!! And for those of you, who want to hear on the 'value for price' relationship - we rated it as so unfair to the hosts - this cute and lovely house costs lots more then they give it out for!!! Wishing everybody who goes there an amazing time and we can't wait to be back.

Vlada S., New York, NY, 9.21.11

Menehune Shores 320

Good place. very nice view from the balcony. Near from everything. we was 4 me and my wife with our 2 kids. maybe just one thing. the condo was built in 1973 and never renovated. so the shower drain and copples things need to be renovated. except that ther many air/con tv and chairs and all thats stuff. i recommend it

Francis H., Shannon, QC, 9.6.11

Hale Lele Villa

It was all fantastic, and the only low point was my trip to the E.R. and an overnight non-rest in the hospital! We all loved the house, the hostess (Scarlett, and Tim, too) the gardens and everything! The location was superb. We hope for a return visit in a few years. Many, many thanks for all of it!

John V., Vashon, WA, 8.30.11

Kamaole Sands 8-406

The unit was clean, comfortable, and reasonably well-equipped. We liked the high ceilings and two bedrooms of this 4-th floor unit. Out of all the Kamaole Sands buildings, building 8 is about as far as you can get from the beach, but it's still only a few minutes' walk. The main drawback is that the balcony on building 8 faces an access road for the neighboring development, and there was noisy traffic on it intermittently throughout the night & early morning. There was wired internet in the unit, but wifi would have been a lot more convenient. Check-in was smooth except it would have been nice to just get the keys from the front desk, rather than fumbling in the dark with a lock-box on the unit's door. The location was very good. We enjoyed Kamaole Beach III (directly across the road) every day. There was also good snorkeling a short drive south. Restaurants and groceries were close by too.

Chris S., Ottawa, ON, 8.19.11

Leinaala 205

It was authentic feeling and comfortable. It has an outstanding view and is centrally located.

Sandy P., Rockport, MA, 8.16.11

My Waii Beach Cottage

Location & house were great. Ease of check-in was great. Thanks for a great place, represented well.

Jill B., Thousand Oaks, CA, 8.2.11

Menehune Shores 320

The view was great. It would have been nice to know that rental had beach towels, boogie boards and beach chairs prior to arrival. They did have a beach umbrella, but it was broken - still usable. Great to have two full bathrooms. Guests should know that this is a very windy area. The BBQ's were unusable due to the high winds in the evenings (i.e. they would not heat up properly and the lids would actually fall down because of the high wind). Pool is nice, warm, clean - but guests with children should be advised of pool rules beforehand (no toys, diving, jumping, marco polo = no fun!). Kitchen had basic supplies, could use a few more, like rubber scrapers, working scissors, etc. A big suggestion is to treat the cabinets so that they don't smell! Good location - not far from surfing lessons, snorkeling beaches, restaurants.

Kathy M., Tracy, California, 7.18.11

My Waii Beach Cottage

The best view on the whole island! A dream come true...we will be back again!

Tiffany R., Vancouver, WA, 6.26.11

Leinaala 205

Thank you for the easy booking arrangements. The unit was clean and had nice view. There were some nice unexpected extras like boogie boards and other beach necessities that were really appreciated. On past vacations, I have bought and left many of those sorts of items that were not practical to carry on planes so having them there was helpful. The area was quiet and friendly. Don't miss strolling Paia, (have a meal there) and Haleakala. We had a good meal at PuPu Lounge in Kihei.

Chuck W., Mesa, Az, 6.7.11

Maui Banyan A 1 BR

Unit was all upgraded and a perfect location (beach directly across the street, walking distance to all local shops/restaurants). The condo had all the amenities you would need for a great vacation (beach chairs, boogie boards, etc.). Unit was very clean upon arrival. Only suggestion to the owner would be to purchase a new dryer (it took multiple drying cycles for each wash load).

John P., Harleysville, PA, 5.28.11

Kamaole Sands 8-406

Our Family had an amazing time @ Kamaole Sands/Maui.....the sites were so beautiful, the weather was outsatnding and all the people we met were so friendly....it was truly a trip to paradice and with all that said my first daughters wedding was pefect and she has so many wonderfull wedding pictures of her ceremanoy which was held on the beach with a beautiful sunset shortly after that. We will certainly be returning :) Aloha & Mahalo!

David T., Wauna, WA., 5.25.11

Maui Sunset 311A

The grounds are fantastic (well groomed). The bed is smaller and the bathrooms are in need of upgrading. No problem in doing the towels but there is only 1 laundry soap provided. The facility pictures need to be updated on the website. Current pictures do not reflect the both the unit or the facility in it's best perspective. Much nicer on site vs the website perspective.

Vicky N., Thornton, CO, 5.22.11

Kihei Treehouse Cottage

The treehouse cottage was perfect! Pam and Juan are very considerate and kind. We loved exploring Maui all day long and coming back to the quiet of our treehouse at night. We loved that the treehouse had all the comforts of home including towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach umbrella, cooler, spices, etc. The garden was delightful and the mango salsa that Pam and Juan made was extraordinary! Mahalo for a great week in paradise!

Siobhan H., Seattle, Wa, 5.1.11

Great location! Condo was very well appointed with everything I could have wanted. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.

The best restaurant we found was Capische. Every local we asked said GO TO CAPISCHE! We ate there our last night and it was by far the best dining experience we had.

Monkey Business Maui- Kihei Bay Surf 135

This was our second trip to Maui and it was amazing. The rental had everything we needed, was cozy and very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay. Can't wait until our next vist. There were so many great fun and exciting things we did on the island. One of the top was renting a Harley for the day. This was the first time I booked through a rental agency and found that they and Marina were excellent to deal with. Thank you so much for everything and the fantastic treats you left us. Mahalo

Christine S., Invermere, BC, 4.10.11

Maui Sunset 401B

The location, suite, and complex was ideal. People around the complex were very friendly and the grounds were kept beautifully! We would love to return one day. The suite was equipped with all and more of what you need for a relaxing tropical vacation. Highly recommended for families or people who just want to relax in the beautiful sun of Maui.

Nicole A., Coquitlam, BC, 3.14.11

Monkey Business Maui- Kihei Bay Surf 135

The Monkey Business condo itself was playfully unique, sweet, well equipped and very conveniently located. The main benefit to staying here, however, was Marina's graciousness during the March 11th tsunami. Marina invited us up to her house (on higher ground) and accommodated us overnight during the tsunami warning period. This is a kindness that we will never forget. We will gladly recommend Monkey Business to our friends, and will be happy to come back on our next visit to Maui. Thank you so much!

Paul C., San Rafael, CA, 3.13.11

Maui Sunset 401B

Great place to stay. Would go back.

John S., Loveland, Colorado, 2.22.11

Maui Kamaole I205 Ilima

Unit was great. Had everything we needed. We have two small kids so being close to beaches, parks... was great. Only downside is similar to comments we saw before renting and that is downstairs room sometimes gets quite warm.

Patrick M., New Westminster, BC, 2.2.11

Menehune Shores 310

- the ocean and pool view, TV's in each room, AC (even though we did not need it) & comfortable beds - service (rental company) was great - enjoying this place with our kids and grandkids - we enjoyed family meals - the best picture was our grandkids enjoying the water - we have told all our friends and family before of this location and love it, that's why we enjoyed a family wedding here this year - it is a well cared for property - enjoy the weather - kayaking This is our 3rd stay at Menehune Shores. We intend to come back again next year. Our room or rooms will depend on how many of our family join us. Thanks

Candace H., Red Deer, AB, 1.29.11

Maui Banyan T-104

We thoroughly enjoyed Maui. The Kihei area is very nice, and casual. We felt very laid back there. We didn't pick a very expensive condo, because we don't spend much time in it -- we try to be out as much as possible. This T building is the farthest back in the Maui Banyan condos, but the 2nd pool and Jacuzzi and barbecue area is right by it, which is very nice. The walk doesn't take very long. There were a couple of times my daughter and I jaunted down to the beach to get sunset pictures when we started to see the colors. The granite in this unit is nice. My kids loved the fact that the room with the two full beds seemed like their very own room. We absolutely had a blast going to Molokini with Four Winds II. The reef isn't all that diverse, but the experience of going out on a catamaran, snorkeling, snubaing, etc... was a blast. Expensive, but fun! Also they made sure no one drowned (added by my 10 yr old son). We didn't do the road to Hana, maybe next time. Sounds narrow and curvy! I couldn't believe how many Canadians were in the Banyan.

Tana F., Sherwood, Oregon, 1.24.11

Wailele

the location was amazing! the house was clean and beautiful. having a beach right out front was extremely convenient. loved the fresh lime tree out side as well. we rented a harley motorcycle and cruised for a couple days those were the best days! next time we will ride to the crater to check that out had a wonderful 2 weeks looking forward to the next time we can go back

Giselle B., Assiniboia, SK, 1.11.11

Maui Vista

It was a great little condo and great location. We had an absolutely fantastic first visit to Hawaii and will definitely come back and I would consider Maui Vista again. Just about everything we could need was there-- it would be nice if the kitchen had a few more items. I understand it is difficult because things spoil but maybe a small set of dried spices, olive oil, etc. A water purifier pitcher would be handy too. Also, the towels didn't really smell clean. I think perhaps people shove more into the small washer than it can really handle and so they don't get clean. We washed them in smaller loads and washed often.

Kevin C., League City, TX, 1.4.11

Kauhale Makai-Village By the Sea

This was a very nicely laid out and equipped condo, on the top floor so that we could see both the sunrise from behind Mount Haleakala and the sunset directly into the Pacific Ocean from our lanai. The location was excellent for good nearby restaurants and snorkeling sites, and centrally located for reaching Lahaina for a little tourist activity. We would recommend Village by the sea and particularly the unit we stayed in.

Wendy L., Bala Cynwyd, PA, 12.30.10

Koa Resort 4F

We enjoyed our visit very much. We like the smaller atmosphere of the Koa Resort, The best part of our unit, it was nice and roomy for all of us. My only suggestion would be to update the unit (counter tops, stove and especially take out the rug in the living rm and dinning area.. It was old green shag and very hard to clean, it aggrevated allergies). The pool area was great, loved that the kids had room to play and splash, while having another area for swimmers. The grounds were very pretty with all the Plumeria trees around.

Karrie K., Fairbanks, Alaska, 12.12.10

My Waii Beach Cottage

This was our first trip to Maui and the stay at My Waii Beach Cottage was absolutely breath-taking. No doubt the cottage is booked 6 months in advance!

Gautam T., Union City, CA, 12.6.10

Waipuilani 107

The rental unit is comfortable but a little crowded by large furniture, it would be improved by replacing the wicker furniture with regular dining chairs. It is very well equipped and clean. The location is excellent, very easy to get to any point on the island. My advice to anyone else proposing to stay in this unit: it's perfect for two but would be a nightmare for any more. Don't expect a nice patio to sit out on, you'll be staring at a hedge eight feet away separating you from a car park.

Andrew T., Lakefield, Ontario, 12.6.10

Menehune Shores 320

What we liked best about the unit was the view and the rooftop BBQ and seating area. The customer service was good. The best part of our trip was the Old Lahaina Luau. The service was top notch and so was the entertainment. It was fantastic! The best restaurant we went to is a tie between Mama's Fish House and Cheeseburger in Paradise. Mama's Fish House is amazing from the moment you walk on to the grounds. Beautiful scenery and ambiance. Cheeseburger in Paradise has really good food. It hit the spot for the need of a good burger. The best pic of us has to be on our wedding day in Makena. I would recommend taking the road to Hana. It was beautiful. There are so many different stops along the way. My husband isn't one for enjoying the sites of nature as much as I am but he enjoyed it too! My advice to someone else staying in the unit is read the notebook that is made for the unit. There were things in there we didn't notice until about day 3 like the additional cost of air conditioning. The best "insider tip" we received was packing a cooler and driving the road to Hana. I may have skipped it but so many "locals" recommended it and how to do it. It was definitely worth it. We didn't have time to go Zip Lining this time, but we will next time.

Taniesha C., Puyallup, WA, 10.17.10

Menehune Shores 320

Thank you for asking. We were very dismayed that the entire parking lot was being repaved and redone. It smelled, was noisy and was not what we were expecting. We should have been notified in advance of our vacation or offered another unit. The unit has a great view and we enjoyed having two bedrooms for two adult couples. We thought the master would be a king bed, but it was only a queen. We did not use the air conditioner so I have not comment on that. There were a few problems with the unit I think should be brought to your attention. The area rug in the main living area was basically filthy and either needs thorough cleaning or replacing. The unit was neat, but the floor seemed not clean and also needs a steam cleaning; our feet were black from walking around without shoes. The toilet in the master near the master bedroom leaks from the back base every time you flush causing a minor flood. Additionally, in that bathroom the draining in the shower is not very good. The washing machine knob is broken so that it comes off in your hand when you try to turn it on and we had to use tong to turn it on. The unit is basically nice and just needs a little deep cleaning and refreshing to be a something that would make a better impression. We did appreciate the pricing on this unit, but it would have been a better value if the above things were taken care of. Thank you for your services, and we hope our feedback is helpful.

Bonnie H., Simi Valley, CA, 10.5.10

Leinaala 205

The condo was very clean, which made the stay extra pleasant. I also liked the hospitality of the condo managers and owners, they were very accommodating. The sunset view was beautiful from our condo, and we are planning to come back to the leinaala. We would recommend the Road to Hana drive. The drive is beautiful and is a must-see! The luau's are something we wanted to try for the sake of trying and will not be doing it again. We did not do the feast @ lele, and felt attending the feast @ lele may have changed our disappointment about luau's. We attended the luau @ the Hyatt. The luau was not worth the money we paid to attend it. Ululani's Shaved Ice stand was delicious!

Judy S., Cerritos, Ca, 9.8.10

Kamaole Nalu 406

Everything about our stay was fabulous. The condo was the nicest unit we've ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful touches & a primo location. I hope to stay there everytime we visit Maui.

Ron F., San Rafael, CA, 7.30.10

Maui Banyan A101 2BR

This Maui Banyan rental was fantastic! The unit was extremely up-to-date and had an excellent kitchen, three large screen TVs, and the beds were great! But most of all, the unit had a wonderful lanai, which overlooks the ocean. Even though the unit is close to the road, you don't hear the noise in the condo. The gardens around the entire premise are very beautiful and the location in a great place on Maui. The beach across the street is small but one of the best we have visited. It is not crowded and a beautiful site! The BBQ grills are the cleanest on the planet -- great for grilling. The rental process was very smooth -- and the owner is great. The best part of the trip was the road to Hana -- the worst part, the road to Hana. It is a wonderful exotic place and I'll never forget that drive -- but it IS worth it. A sunrise over the volcano, a sunset cruise, zip lining (we were crazy to do it as adults (at least this dad thought so -- but the kids and my wife loved doing it), and so much more. This family from Iowa loved the entire trip and the accommodations!

John V., Cedar Falls, IA, 7.15.10

Haleakala Shores 205B

Unit Pros: nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms wired internet (not wireless) included VCR/DVD player available beach chairs, towels, boogie boards available Cost Very close to a wonderful beach! Great location in Kihei. Short commute to the airport... Fully stocked kitchen (though would have liked a dishwasher and trash bags) Unit Cons: window a/c unit was not in working order upon checkin; parts had already been ordered and had arrived in condo but had not yet been installed; repaired during our stay 2nd bedroom is not a true 2nd bedroom but a sliding screen divides it from the main room; this is not a big deal but should be made more clear in the advertisements View of the street with lots of busy street noise

Michelle E., Atlanta, GA, 7.6.10

Maui Sunset 121B

The location is great. Would definitely stay here again. The unit is spacious and being on the ground floor is a plus. It is very easy to get around from this location. There were two negatives: one was that when I rented the unit I was told that there was free wireless connection for the internet. This was not the case but you can rent a modem for $40/wk or $10/day. This worked fine. The other is that there was not laundry soap. The management wants you to run a load of towels before you leave so laundry soap would have been nice.

Lynn W., Westminster, CO, 6.29.10

Villa De Opulence I

We rented both units 1 &2 and found them to be very well done. We had no problems and the houses were exactly what I had hoped for.......very well supplied with all the necessities and many up grades not normally found in rentals anywhere. The only down side was not being able to sleep with the doors open to hear the waves but that was a minor disappointment. The night we arrived, tired and hungry, Mimi recommended an italian restaurant just a few blocks from the house that was excellent. The thing I would recommend to others about these rentals is to go...ENJOY.....because they were super. We recieved excellent service from everyone in regards to these rentals from the booking to the checkout.

Location, decor & comfort level couldn't be beat. Juan & Pam are OUTSTANDING hosts. Made to feel like we lived in the neighborhood and it didn't take but a day to refer 'going back to the condo' to 'going back home' while we stayed there. Laying on the beaches in & around Kehei could not be beat and Fred's mexican food had the best ambiance and the best view. Would recommend a stay at the treehouse to anyone and hope to go back soon!

Maui Banyan A Studio

The location of this condo is AWESOME. Great beaches across the street, resturants and shops walking distance, and overall a central location on the island. The studio looks just like the photos. They provide you with tons of beach items, we used them every day. Everyone was very friendly and gave us tons of information about the island. This is such a deal for the price!!!!

Kamaole Sands 3BR Oceanview Ground Floor

THE LOCATION IS WONDERFUL, GREAT TO WALK ACROSS THE ROAD TO THE BEACH. HAVING ALL THE BEACH TOYS,TOWELS,CHAIRS, SNORKEL SETS AVAILABLE WAS WONDERFUL TOO! THE CONDO WAS VERY COMFORTABLE FOR THE SEVEN OF US, NICE TO COOK OUR OWN MEALS, WE USED THE BBQ FACILITIES ALOT. HAVING A GROUND FLOOR UNIT IS PERFECT, OUT THE LANAI AND ONTO THE GRASS TO PLAY FRISBE OR FOOTBALL. OUR ADULT CHILDREN HAD A BLAST. THE ONLY DOWN SIDE WOULD HAVE TO BE CARPET ON THE FLOORS, THE SAND YOU TRACK IN IS HARD TO KEEP UP WITH, I THINK TILES WOULD MAKE THINGS A LOT EASIER FOR CLEANUP. ALSO THE BATH ENCLOSURES, CURTAINS COULD USE SOME CLEANUP, THE REST OF THE BATHROOMS WERE RENOVATED AND REALLY NICE BUT THE BATHTUBS NEED UPDATING. THANKS AGAIN AND WE WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY AND UNIT 10-115.

Kihei Treehouse Cottage

The Treehouse was excellent! We arrived late in the day and were graciously greated by Pam and Juan. The cottage was so peaceful - the breeze was non-stop and we thoroughly enjoyed morning coffee on the deck while watching the birds. The cottage is centrally located, so we really didn't have to travel far to enjoy beaches, great food, and fantastic snorkeling adventures (I highly recommend the Quicksilver!) Some of the best food on the island is within 10 minutes of the cottage - so take advantage of the short drive down South Kihei Road to Moose and Fred's. It'll be on the left. The Hana Highway and Halelakula trips were wonderful; but it was always great to get back "home" to the cottage. It really does have that home away from home feel. Pam and Juan are so helpful if you need anything or if you just want some friendly conversation. I would highly recommend it if you want a quiet stay away from hotels or resorts. No pool - but who needs one. This was a great 30th anniversary trip - a once in a lifetime adventure that was made all the better by a great place to stay. You'll love it. Good location, close enough to shops and restaurants but away from the busy street traffic. Very clean unit, well maintained. Juan and Pam were great hosts. An umbrella for the patio table would have been nice, it was a little hot with the late afternoon sun out there.

It felt very homey. I liked the guest book. I would definetly reccomend to others and left notes in the book. My only complaint is that the a/c lock box combination given me was incorrect not a big deal. We liked so many things on our trip to many to list.

The best part about this condo was the price! It was well decorated and a cozy place to stay. We spent little time in the condo and didnt use any of the extras (pool, tennis, bbq). The deposit taking 2 months to get back seems a little excessive. The condo is close to everything (beaches, stores, shops, everything).

I liked having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The location was great! We loved Big Beach. We enjoyed dining at Sansei and Fred's which are very close. We saw whales watching the sunset at the beach right across the street.

What I liked best was the view, location, and we had absolutly everything we needed. Customer services was great. My favorite part was morning coffee on the upper deck, watching all the activity on the water and in the park. We ate in every night because we had a great view. I didn't take a lot of pictures but I have one of the view from the upper deck on my phone that we'll be there for awhile. The unit was perfect, very well equipped. The area can smell a little funny at times sort of a combination of sewer and sea water but it is mostly up the alley near the playing fields. My favorite thing was to try different beaches. Signing up for a discount at the super markets, there is quite a savings if you take the time to fill out a simple form. Next time I would like to visit a different island.

We were very disapointed in the condo. The furniture was old and needed to be replaced . The condo needed to be painted. It did not look the same as the picture on the internet. The only thing good about it was the view. Thank you fopr allowing me to voice my opinion.

Our daughter, husband and I liked the porch with the nightly view of sunsets the best as well as the pretty much fall proof shower. Customer service was outstanding esp since Christine, the owner called to warn us of the 2/27/10 tsunami herself and even invited us to stay w/her brother's family for 7 hrs that day. Above and beyond. The managers, Paula and Bill were very helpful but renters are not aware that they do NOT serve as hotel "go to " people. The van trip totally around Hana and the washboard road. Views were exquisite. Carol Annibella and family

We had a family of 14 and this home was perfect for us; everyone had a place to sleep; everyone did their own thing during day and we gathered together for all evening meals. The adventurous adults did the zip line which they loved and would do it again. We went to a laua and it was fun; I was a little disappointed in the sugar train ride for the kids; the plantation ride was much better! We ate at local restaurants in Kiehei and all was good; we ate at the Aloha Plate and Grill in Lahiana and would go back there again. The sunsets in Keihei were gorgeous. We golfed the Emerald Course at Walliea and would do that again, what a gorgeous place! We rented a photographer to come and take our family picture and they were wonderful to work with. I am really tired! Barbara

The best part of the suite was the view. Customer service - still working on it. I am waiting to hear back from them. Best part of my trip - my activities with the family - we went snorkeling, scuba diving, took the Road to Hana, Baldwin Beach, went to Lahaina We cooked on site and ate with friends at their places as well as went out a few times. We went to a pizza place near the Maui Dive shop that was good and Hard Rock Cafe in Lahaina which was also good. Be prepared to have to buy toilet paper, laundry and dish washer soap. We only had 4 adults and we ran out of toilet paper and had to buy laundry soap because there was none. We didn't have time to go up to see the Haleakala Sunrise.

Since we were four (2 couples), the presence of a second bathroom was desirable at times. The service was great and the owners were very accommodating. The best restaurant we found was the Fish Market in PAIA. Go to Expedia Local Expert in Lahaina for booking the events you wish to participate in and be sure to see Ulalena at the Old Lahaina Center. Be sure to go to Hana, Haleakala Crater and IAO Needle.

We loved our stay...it was a beautiful spot and very quiet...we enjoyed our morning walks on the beach....sitting on the lani drinking our morning coffee and watching the sunrise was so peaceful and quiet....I would defiantly recommend Leinaala to all my friends and family....because we were there for a wedding we were very busy with that and did not get to do all the things on the island that we would have liked to do and will hopefully come back one day....Leinaala will stay at the top of my list for a great place to stay while visiting Maui....it was so beautiful there...

We liked Maui the best out of the 4 islands we stayed on. The apartment was comfortable and well supplied. The location was great and we enjoyed our stay. It is unfortunate that the owner chooses to not put adequate/any instructions about the location of the air conditioner controls. We were not the only guests who could not find them the first night. It is almost as if the owners do not want you to find them. While the beds were comfortable the sheets smelled of mold. The door hinges were squeaky and this was a problem in the night when someone had to get up. The apartment was very nice but possibly could use new tubs and the fridge is a definate eye sore. The grounds were amazingly manicured and the building very clean. We were sad we didn't get to go to the restaurant there as it sure smelled good. We enjoyed all the wildlife on the grounds and even saw a turtle swimming from our balcony. Our favorite part was sitting on the patio and listening to the waves during breakfast or cards later in the evening.

We appreciated all the extra touches, like the Big Screens, the WII, boards, chairs, bath towels, internet access, the box of candy, etc ! The kitchen gave us everyting we needed and we slept well. Very clean, and it was comfortable from the moment we arrived. A small thing really, but we did find the two large chairs next to the couch hard to get comfortable in, but not a major thing. We liked the quiet atmosphere. We definitely will consider returning on our next trip....which I hope will be sooner than later ! Our favorites things are : 88 degrees > great water > beautiful scenery > a great condo to rest in and come back to every night. Thanks !

Maui Banyan T Studio

My advice to someone staying in this unit would be - realize that there are a lot of older people and they have a lot of rules. I would not stay there with children over 2 as I think they would not fit in with the other people. I would recommend renting a one bedroom so that you have laundry facilities. It was difficult to prepare any kind of food with the items that we had and the limited counterspace and no sink except in the bathroom.
We were very pleased that all of our requests were dealt with quickly. thank you. we enjoyed our stay.

We really loved this condo, it is updated very nicely & it is very quiet. The view from the deck is amazing! We loved being just a few minutes from the beach! The air conditioning was not what we were used to(we are from Montana & have actual central air in our homes), but if you make sure to keep the fans running it isn't so bad. Polo Beach was our favorite spot to hang out. I loved being in Maui so much that I plan to return & possibly move there permanently in the future. Thank you for the use of this beautiful condo!

Overall the house was really nice, the best part was the short walk to the beach. If there was not the horrible street traffic noise all the time I would give 5 stars.

Kihei Treehouse Cottage

The unit was "better" than advertised which is always a plus. Location was great. Owners, Pam and Juan, were unseen but easily available and provided us with a couple of necessary info bits that were done in as unobtrusive manner as possible. Just super folks and a fantastic home on Maui for our week - we would ask for it again or refer it to people that would appreciate the setting. Some people need hotel rooms and a more tourist oriented spot - for those that want to live in a home setting, be "at home" feeling wise in a day and truly relax, the Kihei Treehouse is it thanks

Maui Kamaole E202

What I liked best about Maui Kamaole E202 is the ideal location in Kihei - it was perfectly situated for going to beaches, within walking distance of restaurants and shops, and right across the street from the boat launch where all the good snorkel tours put in. The unit was beautiful, well equipped, very clean and quiet and we enjoyed our stay immensely. The customer service I received was spotty. When I tried to call the rental agency few days before departure to make sure my reservation was in order, the voicemail box for Ashley in guest services was full, and I couldn't reach a live person for two days and could not get a callback. On the arrival date we had the same problem, couldn't get a live person on the phone, and the owner of the rental unit was traveling and was also difficult to reach, and we had problems with the electronic lock and couldn't reach anyone to help us. We fiddled with it for 20 minutes and finally got it to unlock, fortunately. We did have better service later in the week when we reported a minor plumbing problem, and it was resolved the same day. While the unit itself was enjoyable, I don't think I would rent through this rental agency again because of the unresponsiveness and will try VRBO in the future.

Maui Sunset 323B

The rental place was perfect for my trip, since there were 7 of us traveling. The first impression was a flash to the '70s; the rooms could use some renovations; all in all the Maui Sunset was a comforting rental. the room had ample towels and sheets. The beach was not that great but the location of the resort was great - near everything. When the property gets a facelift, the fitness center needs the most work.

Jeanette G., Lyndhurst, NJ, 9.3.09

Wailele

The Wailele Vacation Home was pretty spectacular. The very few issues that we had include that the directions to the place are not user friendly, the driveway entrance gate was not operating well (though it was taken cared of when it was addressed), and also that they wasn't any toilet paper in each of the bathrooms already (even though it was in the storage area outside the house). That being said, the place was nice, Scarlett was helpful, and we would come back.

Kathy C., Palmer, Alaska, 8.30.09

Hale Lanui

Hale Lanui was the perfect vacation rental for my family. We all own large homes in the mainland and walking into Hale Lanui felt just like home. It was large enough for all 9 of us. The house was fully equipped with everything you need in a home (including a rice cooker!). The double washer-dryer set was very helpful especially with the size of our group and the number of times we changed clothes. An air conditioning would have been awesome, but we enjoyed our stay anyhow. It had the best view of the ocean in most areas of the house. I loved the wide lanais upstairs and downstairs. We ate all our meals in the lower lanai while we relaxed and watched the ocean at the upper lanai. My parents who are in their 80s loved the house. My dad enjoyed the morning walks at the adjacent Kalama Park. We all enjoyed our stay. Rod was very helpful from the first day to the end. He attended to our needs such as trouble-shooting the TV system downstairs and the internet. I would rent this house again maybe during the winter and spring seasons.

Lillian S., Livermore, CA, 8.24.09

Menehune Shores 320

We loved the ocean view and being able to hear the waves. The best part of trip was being with my husband and daughter. Our favorited places to eat were Bubba Gumps and Stella Bellas. I think that information should be more clear regarding the unit. Especially the A/C Unit. No where in my papers did they tell us that the remotes were in a lock box. It was very hot during our stay due to the humidity being almost the same as the outside temperature. Our first evening was miserable because of this.

Koa Lagoon 502

The condo was very neat and clean. The sheets on the bed were old and had those uncomfortable "balls" in the material so I changed them. I really liked the updates that had been made to the unit. I even took photos for perhaps my future updates at home. The view was fantastic. I could tell the condos were old but well maintained and updated. I have made note of Koa Lagoon for future stays in Maui. Thanks.

Barbara G., Arlington, TX, 8.4.09

Haleakala Shores 205B

Our family of four found the layout of the unit to be very good, our two adult daughters enjoyed having their own bathroom off their bedroom and the living room area was very adequate. We all found the beds to be comfortable. Having the grills in the pool area meant we ate almost all our meals in the unit and loved sitting on the balcony to eat. Loved grilling the mahi-mahi, etc. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to cook/eat. We did not discover the videos and games in the cabinet under the TV until the day we left. As you can see most of our time was spent on the beach so we didn't check the cabinet until then. We appreciated the two beach lounge chairs that were in the entry closet. We highly recommend the fruit stand/market at 61 South Kihei road (miles north of Haleakala Shores) - found the papaya and mangos to be much better than the few we bought in a grocery store. Their pineapple was also excellent. The discount store next to the cinnamon roll place had the pineapple wine for the same price as the winery so we bought our wine there. Definitely go to Fuitti Tutti for the "make your own" yogurt sundaes.

Beach House with Private Pool

We found this house with the help of Mary Kress in your office. I told her there were certain absolutes we were looking for. After several minutes (half hour or so), we liked this one. Her help was invaluable. The description and the pictures were helpful in making a decision. We were expecting a house that needed "freshing up" . This was incorrect. It has a truly ranch style feel about it, which we found to be charming and delightful. There was nothing drabby about the place. The hosts (owners) were friendly and more than helpful in finding great restaurants and places to see and places to avoid, all the while respecing our privacy. The location in Kehei, was very convenient for the many places and things we wanted to do. This house may be one of the best kept secrets on the island. One thing for certain was, the owners take pride in this house. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival; we kept, and left it that way the best we could. They obviously only want tennants that will appreciate being there. We did not have a bad meal in Maui, but, our favorite restaurant was Mama's Fish House. We enjoyed being on beachfront property, but our favorite beach for swimming and body surfing was Big Beach. I recommend the helicopter tour (Air Maui), parasailing (West Maui Parasailing) and a snorkling trip by boat. Nor Ka Hale is truly a 5 star resort (home) at a 3 star price. The only critical (unimportant) thing I can think of is, I would have liked a wide screen TV. I suggested that to the owner. He is considering that. We accomplished every thing we set out to do.

We really enjoyed this rental for price, location, nice decor and cleanliness. The only thing that we saw is that the carpet was due to be shampooed. The overall expierience was great. The beach was within walking distance and the complex was so secure and quiet yet fun... The thoughtfulness of the owners on all the little extras from dish soap to beach towels and beach chairs, kitchen dishes etc.. the list goes on I rate this a must stay. We would love to return with our children in the future. We had a great vacation!!! Thanks for everything...The best restaurant was the Lahina Fish House, and Fred's Tacos in Kehei, The ocean was our favorite as well as the Road to Hana, and of course time together!! Aloha!

Maui Vista

We found the rental comfortable, convenient, and in excellent condition. The concierge service (RW - that really is his name) was quite good and very helpful with recommendations and reservations. The availability of Kihei area beaches, both for snorkeling and for playing on the beach was great (Ulua was just down the road - great for snorkeling) and the Kamaole beaches were within walking distance - super sunsets! Location was near beaches, markets, and easy reach to hiking, water, and Haleakela (of course, everything is pretty close on an island). THANX!

Kihei Treehouse Cottage

There were many good things about the unit my husband and I rented, but I would have to say that my favorite thing was the huge shower. I recieved excellent customer service both over the phone while trying to book and once we arrived at the unit. The owner was on hand to answer any questions and to help insure we got settled comfortably. I really liked this personal touch. There were many wonderful things about our trip. For example the sunsets were, of course spectacular. But as far as the treehouse is concerened, it was wonderful to be able to come back to a place that made me feel at home and the bed was comfortable as well. Also, the location of the treehouse to shopping, beach, and restaurants was great. We never had to go too far unless we wanted to drive further. I am looking foreward to sharing photos and memories of my trip with friends. My advice to anyone else staying at the treehouse would be to take time out to ask Pam for a tour of her organic fruit, vegetable, and herb garden. All in all I would say that our stay at the Kihei Treehouse Cottage was a very positive experience and I reccomend it to anyone that is looking to stay at a wonderful, beautifully decorated place, with great amenities, at a very reasonable price.
