Kuau is a small residential village on the Hana Highway just outside of Paia. It is approximately 15 minutes from Kahului International Airport. There is also a bay and a number of beaches that are favorites of surfers and windsurfers. The most famous of these beaches is Hookipa Beach Park. Hookipa Beach Park was once a wide white sand beach but after the tsunami of 1946, there was nothing left but a thin strip of white sand behind a wide rocky shelf.

"The Kaiholo Hale was perfect for our family reunion of 13 people. The separate suites were much larger than we had expected and were well suited for our needs. It was great having laundry facilities and several bathrooms. It was a nice quiet area with a nice small beach close by. We had excellent customer service when we had problems with one of the bar-b-ques and were assured that if any problems arose, to call right away and it would be attended to.
I highly recommend this unit for either individual suite rental or renting the whole house for family get togethers."
