Description

This five bedroom, three and a half bath private luxury home is located in Lahaina on a closed street. Well designed, two story home offers the visitor comfort and relaxation, with easy access to the beach across the street cul-de-sac. A relaxing stroll into Lahaina town is a just few blocks so leave the car at home and skip the parking meters!

DMX surround sound entertainment system with speakers in each room, chefs kitchen, baby grand piano, and large living area make this a favorite for entertaining. Two zone central air conditioners and multiple fans make Lahaina's famous warm weather a pleasure to experience. Fully equipped kitchen has two dishwashers, trash compactor, large sub-zero refrigerator and a full sized dining area and breakfast nook. There is even a neat little kiddie playroom complete with toys that delights children as well as parents; located first floor in the kitchen/family gathering area. Can be closed off for those who do not have children.

Master Bedroom has king bed and ensuite bath with soaking tub, separate shower and double bowl sink. There are 2 Twin Beds that can be made up as king bed if guests prefer.

Bedroom #5: Queen bed, uses 1/2 bath off laundry room and full bath in hallway (near Bdrm #4) There is also an outside shower with hot/cold water to remove sand from beach or just luxuriate in al fresco bathing island style! Can enter from laundry room or garage entrance. This is a perfect bedroom for the late nighter who doesn't want to disturb the other guests when coming home in the wee hours.

Keiki Kai is welcoming to those who are physically challenged. 2 Queen bedrooms on ground floor, one located near ample sized full bath with shower. Living area, pool and kitchen also on ground floor. One or 2 step access to all ground floor with garage parking available. Floors are stone with some carpet.

Pool depth is 3' to 8'

Rates

Starting from $1,275.00 per night. 50% down to hold a reservation. Balance due 75 days before check-in. $1,000.00 security deposit. $595.00 cleaning fee. Additional Fees: $75.00 for Reservation Fee. 4% processing fee. Listed rates do not include tax. Holiday and peak season rates and required length of stay may be different than quoted above. Credit cards, cash, checks and wire transfers accepted. Minimum night stay varies amongst the various rental units. Many rentals have 30-night minimums.

What I liked best: the house was wonderful, location, accessibility, features The customer service I received was: great, Allen is very knowledgeable of the home The best part of my trip: Cant name just one but to name a few; the old lahaina luau, the haleakala sunrise, road to hana and backside of Piilani Hwy, Kula, Wailuku, Ka'anapali Beach and Kapalua Beach, ziplining, snorkeling at Molokini and Turtle town The best restaurant: Pineapple Grill in Kapalua resort, Leilanis and Hula Grill at Whalers Village, Mala either in Lahaina or at the Marriott in Wailea The best picture I took was: us jumping off black rock in Ka'anapali beach. Also the scenery at Wainapapapa state park I cant wait to tell all my friends that: Maui is probably the most beautiful place I have ever been My advice to someone staying at this unit: None really its a nice place. Take advantage of the proximity to the town Recommended: Dont skip Wainapanapa its gorgeous and after your drive to Hana, drive the backside of Maui, dont reverse your route, and go on a snorkeling tour with Pacific Whale Foundation. They are a wonderful non profit Insider tip: Mauians are way different than the bustling pace of mainlanders. They really respect their land. I didnt have time this trip: to go to the other islands. We could have visited Lanai from a ten minute walk to Lahaina harbor

The house itself is quite wonderful and well located. We really loved the setting, and access to Lahaina and the beach. neighbors were quiet, and parking was not an issue. The Owner's representative, Allen, greeted us. He did a good job orienting us to the house. The problem is that the house is rather poorly maintained, and there is really no excuse for this. The refrigerator does not make ice, the inside light does not come on unless you tinker with the door switch, and you have to keep a towel under the door because the refrigerator steadily leaks water. The sink in the kitchen had broken faucet parts. There is a problem with the wtaer purifier (doesn't work). The washers and driers make so much noise while running that you can't comfortably sit in the TV room and watch (or hear) the TV. The air conditions cannot be set below 75 degrees or the condensers freeze up, and neighbors complained about the noise the air conditioning units made. There are other items to this list, and the Owner (thru Allen) is aware of all of them. Bottom line: you should not charge a premium price for a property unless it is maintained in premium condition, which this house was not. There is no excuse for not maintaining this house in the condition it is represented online. Other than the non-working items, we enjoyed the trip immensely and have no complaints.

1/20/11 We appreciate your comments and will attend to each. The original ice machine in the Sub Zero refrigerator does not produce ice and can not be fixed, a separate ice machine was purchased and is in the laundry room. Water had not been leaking previous to this guest and will be attended to ASAP. The washer/dryer are almost new so maybe they have become unbalanced. As a recent guest wrote *** The laundry room was a dream...having 2 sets of washer/dryers, so we could keep up on our laundry and towels daily. What a blessing!! ***As well the 2 zone AC is only a few years old and no one has ever complained before, not a guest or neighbor but we will look into the issue as we want all our guests to be as comfortable as possible.
