Lahaina Shores Beach Resort - 334

needs some renovations. a little bit old and smelly. bad parking lot hard on your car. nice views, nice beach, but again would stay elsewhere based on the condition of the building.

The location of this home was just perfect! We had ages 56 down to 2 1/2 years old. Baby Beach just a few steps away was wonderful for the 4 little ones, and a nice quiet beach for the adults to wade around or sit on the beach. The pool was very nice size, and a great place to just hang out with the privacy the setting provided. We were a party of 11, so the 5 bedrooms were just perfect and the layout of the home provided enough 'together' time, but also allowed everyone to drift to their own spaces so we didn't feel on top of each other. The little playroom tucked under the stairs was a delightful surprise our little ones didn't expect but discovered our first morning there!! The laundry room was a dream...having 2 sets of washer/dryers, so we could keep up on our laundry and towels daily. What a blessing!! Kitchen layout was great...enough room for several of us to be in...plus 2 dishwashers was a great feature. We took our daily/nightly walks into Lahaina which just always seemed to be the nice finishing touch to the day. Our best discovery was Ululani's Shaved Ice...a little stand tucked on the ocean side of Front Street somewhere between Bubba Gump's and Cheeseburger's in Paradise...it is THE BEST shaved ice, and David, the owner is like your new best friend! We would definitely rebook this home if we ever did a family trip again. Its location is the best...allowing everyone to go do their own thing or to pile in the vans and run over to Napili Bay for great waves and a fun beach for all.

Great view of the water. The outside living space was great (pool, spa, covered patio). Lots of extras (Wii, big screen TV, treadmill). Third bedroom is small with no closet.

Lahaina Shores Beach Resort - 312

I loved that the resort is right on the beach, you simply walk out onto the sand! Very good customer service. The best restaurant we ate at was Sansei (sushi) in Kapalua. We also really enjoyed the magic show at Warren and Annabelle's. We also decided that winter months are best for visiting Maui because of the whales - we saw a lot of whales!!

This was a fantastic holiday house. It was spacious and extremely comfortable. It was also in the best place imaginable for us. Close to baby beach, at the end of the street, and a short stroll into Lahaina for dinner, coffee, shops. Whilst in Maui, we did a helicopter ride of the island with Blue Hawaii Helicopters, we did a trip in Atlantis, the submarine and we did the bike ride down the volcano with the Haleakala Bike Co., which was probably the highlight of the trip. There are so many places to visit, we found we ran out of time, even though we stayed for seven nights. We has to make time for relaxation too! If you are wanting to do any activities, I would urge you to do some research and shop around. We thought that going straight to the company should be the cheapest way, but this isn't always the case. Check out Boss Frog's and Snorkel Bob's for price comparisons and don't always believe what you read in the local advertising materials. They often have really cheap deals, but they come with strings attached. So shop around, you'll be armed with information to make the best decision. The best breakfast we had on Maui was at Beach Bums, on the Marina at Maalea. After that, we went to Maui golf for mini putt putt a ride on the watergun boats and a trampoline jump for the kids. The Aquarium is also here, but it needed about an hour and a half to complete, and we didn't have time. Golf on Maui was terrific, prices were unbelievably cheap because of the low season. We are lucky enough to be able to travel in off peak season because our kids are not yet at school. If you can travel at this time, it is well worth it for the accommodation prices and availability too. Even the attractions can sometimes cost less at these times and there is less chance that you may miss out as there isn't as much demand. We would have liked to have done the drive to Hana and explored a little more of the island to the north. Paia was a very pretty and rustic little village with lots of shops and cafes. We drove through this on the way to the bike ride and would have like to spend a morning strolling through here. We stopped for lunch at the lodge in Kula on the way to the crater. It was very chilly and was an amazing contrast to the rest of the tropical island. Take something warn to wear if you are going to the top of the volcano. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the top. It had started raining and we thought visibility would be really poor, so we cancelled the hike to the top. We rented baby gear from Akamai Mothers. This is the second time we have used them and found them to be very reasonably priced and very accommodating. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. We found the best ribs to be from Bubba Gumps and the Hula Pie from Kimo's was a regular take out treat for us during our stay. If you choose to stay at Keiki Kai, you are sure to have a very happy and memorable stay on Maui.

Lahaina Baby Beach Hale on Front Street Lahaina

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Maui, and the accommodations were very nice. We enjoyed being within walking distance of Lahaina and the beach. We did notice the unit has an ant problem in the kitchen that we battled most of the week. Also, the seating in the living area is not very comfortable except for the chaise lounge chair. The thin cushions on the chairs and couch did not lend itself to much time spent with the entire family in this room. We appreciate relocating us though after we lost our other unit on such short notice. I'm sure we'll be back in the future and will contact you once again. Thank you.

Endless Horizon

This is the most amazing house we've ever been in! Everything was perfect. Alex checked us in and showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. We were literally gasping as took the tour. The pool and jacuzzi, the kitchen, the living room, the bedrooms, the bathrooms were all so beautiful and well-appointed. We were 2 couples with a 3-month old, 15-month-old and 2 year old and everyone had a wonderful time. If you like gadgets as much as I do, you'll love the way the the remote control for the pool and jacuzzi works. Choose different colors for the pool lights and the jacuzzi lights, set the temperature of the pool and jacuzzi separately, etc! It all works too; nothing was broken, rusty, dirty etc. like in some rentals we've stayed in. The babies were in the pool all day and had a blast. Lahaina is only 5 min drive but we felt all alone up on the hill overlooking the channel between Maui and Lanai. The sunsets over the infinity pool were spectacular; I wish I could post a picture here. We took the kids to ride the Sugar Cane Train just down the road and they loved that. Don't bring them into the ticket office or they'll see the Thomas the Tank Engine toys for sale. For dinner, don't eat at Burgers in Paradise -- the meat seems to be mostly filler. Do have a Lappert's Ice Cream or a Gelato from another place (forgot the name). Have fun!

Endless Horizon

It was an excellent vacation home with a spectacular view. However we had no light for the last two days ("too complicated to fix"). Regards

Hale Lahaina

My family can't thank you enough for the wonderful time we shared. Hale Lahaina was more than we could have hoped for! It had everything we could possibly need. The location is perfect! I have read comments on this house, stating the house needs air conditioning. In my opinion, if the house had A/C we would not have enjoyed the beautiful outdoors as much. It was wonderful. We are home now, but part of us remains at Hale Lahaina and in Maui forever....It is truly paradise. We will return! Thank you so much, The Whitson Family

This rental is everything it is advertised as and more. It is a beautiful house, on one of the nicest streets in the town. Nice pool and 1 minute walk to the beach. What more could you want.

Hale Lahaina

Hale Lahaina was a wonderful rental. It had everything one could wish for- all the necessary house supplies, ample towels, beach chairs, a ping pong table, and of course a wonderful pool which was the perfect temperature to cool down from the heat of the day. My only less than positive comment is that, while there were ceiling fans in every room, and floor fans as well, this house really needs air conditioning, as for me, the fans did not suffice to cool the house to a comfortable temperature (especially when the doors were closed while we were out). And yes, the screen doors are twitchy, but you quickly learn which ones to leave alone. However, that having been said, it is a great house, amazingly private considering it is surrounded on both sides and behind by houses, and wonderfully located right on the beach. You will undoubtedly enjoy the house and all Maui has to offer.

Hale Lahaina

After having visited Maui many times before, we flew in our two children and their families from both the East Coast and the West Coast to stay with us for a week at Hale Lahaina to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary! One of the best things about this home was its location on the beach, and also the fact that it has a pool, which proved to be even more popular than the beach, and the place where one could most often find the children and adults, when we were "at home." (....particularly since three of them have been or are on a swim team and/or is an L. A. County Lifeguard and/or is a swim instructor.) The location also made possible many enjoyable walks on the beach into the town of Lahaina! The Master Suite at Hale Lahaina is quite lovely, but the idyllic setting was marred by the fact that a horrible smell was in the large closet and since the door had been left ajar, emanated out into the room to greet us upon our arrival. We were never able to get rid of the smell with deoderizers during our entire stay. Also a bedside table lamp there was broken when we arrived, and when it was removed later in the week, we were left with none. All of the beds in the place were comfortable, but all of the bedrooms (beside the master suite) were not created equal, due to ventilation problems (since there is no AC) and the fact that there was a large dark stain on the carpet near the entrance to one of them and that same room had a substandard bathroom, also. It was great to have each of the bedrooms have its own private bathroom, however! Watching the sun rise on Lanai as we looked across the water at its shores each morning, as well as the lovely views of the neighboring islands, the boats and ships in the Lahaina Harbor with spectacular sunsets each day as the sun sank into the ocean, certainly ranked high on our list of enjoyable features. A favorite evening was spent attending the Old Lahaina Luau with its good food and entertainment and Leilani's was especially enjoyed for tasty fare. Being able to just walk in to Lahaina to one of it s many restaurant locations for lunch was a great plus, also. Sadly, the difficulties with the screen doors that we read about in a critique over a year ago have not been rectified, and the difficulty of closing some of the sliding doors as well as the screen doors is still irritating and needs to be addressed. In closing, I would suggest great care be taken in giving out current, not expired, combination numbers which are needed to access the rental upon arrival and during ones stay, since it can be quite disconcerting to have arrived but not be able to get into the property. A special "mahalo" goes to Mary Kress for her time and patience in helping us to find Hale Lahaina!

Hale Lahaina 4 bedroom

Hello! We enjoyed our recent trip to Maui and the Hale Lahaina. The pool and bar-be-que area were outstanding, and the house was very accomodating as far as the amount of room, the decorative touches, and a well stocked kitchen. However, the general agreement of our group was that for $1000 a night, the house was a little tired. The ice maker did not work, the window in the king size room was broken and there was a sign posted asking us not to open it, and the majority of the locks did not work and so at night, or if we left the house, we had to put blocks of wood behing the sliding glass doors to prevent anyone from coming in. We have made previous vacation arrangements through Laurel Kenney and Hawaiian Beach Rentals and, as in the past, they were very helpful and accomodating as well. Thanks and hope to work with you again!

Lahaina Baby Beach Hale on Front Street Lahaina

Aloha, your house is at the perfect location, just around the corner from a wonderful and kid friendly beach. walking distance to Lahaina, which is great. The house was almost too nice, considering the fact that we had a 10month old crawling baby, that couldn't wait to check out the beautiful Hawaiian vases, statues, etc. on the floor. The second bedroom and that bed was a little small for a couple, but the master bed suite with the jacuzzi tub was a hit. Finding all kinds of water toys, beach towels, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, etc. was a nice surprise. We had a wonderful time at your place and would definitely come back. Carmen

Lahaina Shores Penthouse 3

Another great vacation on Maui in beatuful Penthouse 3 at Lahaina Shores. We always enjoy our vacations there and come all the way from England to do that. Its worth every mile of the trip!. Thank you for everything. You must go to Lanai on your trip. Very easy to get the ferry down the street at the Pioneer Inn and the trip is great...we saw over 20 Dolphins as we entered Lanai harbour...just magical. And you can easily spend a lovely day on the beach on Lanai...be sure to have lunch at Four Seasons Manele Bay or at the Golf Club House at the Golf Course. The Fish and Chips are highly recommended!!! Andrew McLaren London and Lytham St Annes, England

Enchantress

The location was fantastic... It was a great week for our family. However, I would not rent this house again! The house needed some maintenance which the happened WHILE WE WERE THERE. I think for the price of the house there should have been fumigation prior to the guests seeing the huge cock roach problem. We did not want to answer the door to the air conditioner guy or the electrician.......... The outsdide shower was the hit!!!!!!!!

Lahaina Baby Beach Hale on Front Street Lahaina

This house exceeded our expectations, it also has a hot tub and DVD player and Air Con which are not listed. Kitchen has everything you can possibly need, garage is full of beach toys, cool boxes, beach chairs. Local beach is perfect for kids my 6 year old loved snorkeling in the calm water and saw lots of fish, my three year old lost all fear of the ocean

All members of our family, ranging in ages 18 monhs to 70+, enjoyed our stay at your home. The location of the beach for swimming, fishing and snorkling was convenient for everyone. Except for a few dead birds, our stay was grand.

Lahaina Shores Penthouse 3

A truly wonderful apartment. We flew all the way fom London ( including my 82 year old mother) and the apartment was stunning...great facilities, great location and everything you could need was in there. The other important thing was that it was spotlessly clean.....and all was ready for our arrival. The service from both the agent and the staff at the Lahaina Shores complex could not be faulted. Thanks for a wonderful and very memorable vacation. Andrew McLaren. London/Lytham St Annes, Englandrn10 Augus 2006

Hale Lahaina

We all had a great time - enjoyed the house, the beach, the weather, the snorkeling, the shopping, all the other activities, Lahaina, and Maui. Only the fish, who apparently took the July 4th holiday weekend off (by not biting!) didn't live up to expectations! We hope to come back another day. Mahalo and Aloha!

Our family of 8 loved our time at Keiki Kai. It was great for the older teenagers that they could easily walk into Lahaina when they wanted plus we had no parking headaches that Lahaina can present because of the short walk.

Lahaina Shores Penthouse 3

This was a great condo with plenty of room, perfect location, incredible views, awesome sunsets, and a nice complex. The beds ( master & sofa) could use updating. Would definitely stay there again!

House is better then the pictures. I highly recommend. Look forward to going back. Very relaxing, close to beach, relaxing pool. Much better value then the hotels nearby. Even saw some celebrities near by....Fleetwood Mac....

Hale Lahaina

The week that my family spent at Hale Lahaina will be long remembered. The house was spacious and remarkable. The beach, the town, the pool, everything was fabulous! Thanks for a great vacation!

John C., Novato, CA, 8.2.05

Hale Lahaina

We had a wonderful time and the location is great, but the place does need some updating and maintenance. Many pool tiles are missing and it makes it look tacky. However the pool was clean and the pool maintenance guy was very thorough in his cleaning. Several of the sliding screen doors kept falling off the tracks. Very annoying. The yard looks like no one cares for it and all the window screens are filthy. It was the perfect size for us and my kids and grandkids loved it. thanks for asking. June Mayberry

June M., San Deigo, Ca, 7.12.05

Keiki Kai

This is an absolutely beautiful home. We enjoyed our stay immensely. There were a few amenities which were "out of commission" (one of the two dishwashers seemed to be on the fritz, and the dryer - which is being replaced, was a little squeaky). The outdoor shower was fabulous - and the house was in a perfect location. We loved it - it made our wedding week perfect. Thank you, we would highly recommend Keiki Kai to anyone looking for a cozy, glamorous house to rent for a special week on beautiful Maui!
