Aloha;

As a long time resident
of Hawaii, I was delighted to return home and have the opportunity to stay in a comfortable home in an area that truly offers the "real Hawaiian" experience. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach. Saw and swam with many sea turtles. Loved awakening to the music of the birds and falling asleep to the whisper of distant surf.

My family was enchanted, my fiance who has visited Hawaii many times could not stop commenting on how much he was enjoying a "true" Hawaii experience. We will be returning to spent part of our honeymoon in the North Shore and hope to book this home again.

Mahalo!!!!!!

Although not right on the beach, the location was excellent. Having a full length mirror would have been appreciated. The home is very charming and comfortable. My family fit right in.
Haleiwa Joe's is excellent for sea food. Kono's is a great quick breakfast.

The stay was perfect! It is a very nice house. Clean, quiet, fully equipped and with a nice fenced garden. So we could let our kids (3 & 5) play there without having to worry. It's a short walk to a very nice beach, which is not crowded at all. You can snorkel directly there and whatch seaturtles swimming. A small reef is there, so that the waves are not so huge and the kids could have fun in the ocean.
Haleiwa is a nice small town with everything that is necessary for a nice stay. Nice restaurants and a grocery store and other nice shops.
We can recommend the sunset catamaran sailing trip, which starts directly at the Haleiwa harbor. On sundays polo games are going on 5 miles west of Haleiwa. I also tried a tandem skidive jump, what is a real thrill.....
After two weeks we had to leave :-((( we could have stayed much longer!

the privacy of the comfortable house was great. sitting under the mangotree and reading was the ultimate relaxation, the gentle breeze,no bugs and soft island sounds!. the beech was a short walk and oh just so beautiful. here you can become one with the island spirit, this is not a concrete jungle with lots of cars and hundreds of tourists on noisy beeches, this is a quiet spot with an amazing location, clear blue skies and emerald ocean, you can swim, surf or just plain admire the beauty of hawaii. I would recommend this to any one who wishes to relax and know the true magic of the island. I found the city and waikiki beaches way too busy. the best beaches are so much closer to this home. loved them all. Great food places close by, but a well equipped kitchen helps, so that you dont have to go out if you dont feel like it. we would love to come back soon if possible.

The house was comfortable, but too small (particularly with only one bathroom) for 6 people. Our first experience on arrival was a BLOCKED TOILET!! not very nice after a long haul flight. We would have loved a WOK, but overall the kitchen utensils were good. The BBQ was excellent and used very much. The electronic gates failed to activate late in the second week. We rang to inform the company and left a recorded message. We most certainly do not want ot be held responsible for this, and would very much appreciate confirmation of this please. A 'welciome pack' of basic food necessities would have been very much appreciated, particularly after a long haul flight and arrival at midnight. Best Restaurent was most certainly 'Haleiwa Eats Thai' an exceptionally authentic good quality restaurent. They did a carry out service and it was a BYO alcohol. Family at the magnificent Kualoa Ranch. We were desperately disappointed with the weather. It rained every day many many times a day. We got very little sun. THe surf was very disappointing for my sons. They surf big waves and were extremely disappointed with the conditions. I would have loved to have seen Pipeline working having read so much about it, and seen it so much on the TV / Videos etc. but this did not happen unfortunately. Hawaiian Beach Rentals have no control over the weather though, but we really did expect the weather to be better. I must say that none of us would return. The island is very 'Americanised' and totally lacked a 'polenisian 'culture. We generally find american food too 'altered' and unpalatable, ie too salted, too sugared, too flavoured, too breaded and too 'deep fat fried'. Sorry but thats the way we feel! It was good for us to enjoy cooking for ourselves even tough i would have liked a break from it!! I would appreciate very much a feed back on my comments, particularly in regards to the GATE. I am also quite shocked that a refund may take up to 60 days. I honestly cannot fathom a reason as to why it could be that long. I would like to say a big thank you for arranging this holiday home for us. Your instructions were very good and clear. I would recommend your company if I heard of anyone going to Hawaii and doing the same type of trip as ourselves. We realise that we were very unfortunate with our holiday but i would not deter anybody else experiencing Hawaii for themselves. I hope you consider this a positive and HONEST account. Many thanks to you all. Bridget.

Ted's Bakery rocks, and has great food.. far beyond bakery goods. The security and privacy of Under the Mango Tree was great! I felt like we had a private compound. Great. The best beach for swimming and sunning and spending time was the one a block from the house..no need to look for a better beach. Private, sunny, and beautiful sunsets. This will be a highlight of our family memories together. Thanks!

It was neat to be nestled in a neighborhood, close to a little Korean restaurant. The short walk to the beach was very enjoyable and easy. The beach is a quiet, beautiful beach and great for relaxing. There is plenty of excitement at other beaches up the North Shore and one should really see a few others as well. Kawailoa Beach has lots of Sea Turtle residents (there's a horse ranch on the other side of the highway where you park). It's great surfing out further, but standing on the shore where the waves lap at your feet, the sea turtles are eating the algae that grows on the rocks and will surf right up to your feet on the shore. We watched them for two hours!! The wall along the path into the beach is painted by a local artist and his daughter. They have a shop in town, easily identified by the rows of painted surf boards. Ron Artis, "Art ... is," has been painting on broken surf boards and painting murals all over the North Shore area. His work is great! He also has a band with his children (about seven of the eleven) and will do an impromptu concert for you when asked with enthusiasm. Our visit with them was one of our highlights! The rental home itself was decorated adorably with cute little storage and plenty of space for suitcases. We could pack light knowing that we could use the washer and dryer. We were very comfortable there. We were really glad that it was close enough to the Polynesian Cultural Center, about a half hour. We spent a couple of days there ... taking advantage of their return invitation (free.) We, also, attended church with the local LDS ward and felt very welcomed. We shopped up and down the main street, turning right at Haleiwa Joe's Restaurant. (Left takes you across the bridge and then onto the Kamehameha Highway.) We loved the souvenier prices at Planet Surf. However, they do have some high-end clothes shopping available. There were mopeds and motorcycles for rent. And lots of other restaurants that we didn't have time to eat at. People suggested Haleiwa Joe's for dinner. We found it good seafood, but a little pricey. We ate in a lot, having the kitchen right there, and the grocery prices were not so bad at the local grocery store, by Ron Artis' place. However, the dairy products cost about double the mainland, and you can't get by that! It was fun to find that a lot of the condiments we needed had been left by previous tenants. I'm sure that we contirbuted, too. (Check it out before going to the store.) We enjoyed a nice Mexican dinner at the Rosie's Cantina across from Planet Surf. I think that my favorite was the little Italian/pizza place, Spaghettini, right next to the grocey store! Great fetticcini!! So, there is such a nice range of cuisines from fast food to fine dining. The Haleiwa Harbor had kayaking up the river to a waterfall available and jet ski rentals. We will certainly do that next time! We did go to the Waimea Falls Park and hiked to the falls. I wish we'd known we could swim! We'd have worn our swimming suits. It was beautiful and a nice walk. All in all we had a great time! My husband said that the stress of work is being handled much better having had such a relaxing week in Hawaii. Thanks!

We really enjoyed our stay in your very livable house. My grand daughter just turned 16, and her wish for her birthday was a trip to Hawaii with her brother, and her dad, and her grand dad. Your house was just perfect for us. Every thing we need, was there. Bedding, towels, and a nice kitchen so we could do a little of our own cooking. Access to the beach was easy, and we really loved the little take out cafe across the street. All three of my kids say it was a vacation they will never forget. I expect they will want to want to come back again soon.Do you have any similiar property for rent on any of the othe islands? If we come back next year, we may decide to visit another island as well. Tom Smalley

We loved the mangos. We also enjoyed the patio area. The best restaurant was Heleiwa Joes. Kids really enjoyed the Dole plantation. They liked it better than the Polynesian Cultural Center. We tried a number of the local beaches and found the best swimming beach was the one that was just a short walk from house-the local beach. Best for swimming with kids. No surf in July. Thanks for a great week!

Charlie and Melonie house was modernized, it was simple (ceramic tile through-out the house) bedrooms were colorerful (matched the "north-shore" enviroment). Fresh mangos every morning was definetly the high-light. The best part of our trip was to see the giant sea turtles up on shore during the evening hours. The best restruant was Joe's Seafood & Grill. Reasonable priced with large portions of food. The best picture was us with the sea turtles. The best "insider tip" is the "Coffee" at the old sugar mill and puchasing "smoke fish" from the locals. We would like to have gone fishing for Ahi. Mahalo Steve & Debbie

The location was terrific and very comfy cozy inside and out. The house was well stocked with useful items and plenty of paper products. Could use a full length mirror in one or more of the bedrooms, more lighting in the bathroom above the mirror,a couple of oven mitts and maybe a couple more outlets in bedrooms. All in all we loved the house and it made our visit to our son who lives in Honolulu one we will never forget. The outside BBQ was great and the yard was lush and very private and the mango tree was beyond compare. We loved going for a shaved ice, eating dinner at Jamisons and snorkeling in shark cove. I would tell all my friends that the beach down the street was very private and a short walking distance from the house. I took so many pictures that I could never pick a favorite one. Thank you so much for giving us one of the best vacations ever.

This is a very cute home. It is very nicely decorated and well stocked. Staying here gives one the sense of what a being a local hawaiian is like. The town of Haleiwa is very relaxing and the beach that is 2 blocks from the house is perfect.

What a wonderful place for the family vacation! The mango tree was nice, but the butterfly tree was in full swing. Catapillers, cacoons and elegant insects flying everywhere. This location allowed us access to the entire island. After the chaos of the tourist traps we were able to escape to our little paradise only a half hour away. Mahalo!
