As Hawaiian vacation travel professionals, we know that planning a vacation to Honolulu can be a difficult task. Wouldn't it be great if you could find out about the place you intend to stay on your Honolulu getaway before you get there?
Honolulu reviews 1 - 3 of 3

Pacific Heights - The unit was lovely. we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. we loved the space, and would certainly consider going back. Thanks!

Kailani - I live on Oahu and played host to my family visiting from the Mainland. So I'll focus my comments upon the rental house. First, the house is beautiful and spacious and well laid out. The single biggest detractor is the lack of air-conditioning. Yes, I realize many/most Oahu residents live without a/c, but most guests at this home aren't from here and, frankly, for a $1200/day rental in a multimillion dollar house, expect it. My sister went to a Wal-Mart their first night here and purchased six fans to place in the bedrooms so people--especially those in the bottom deck--could comfortably sleep. My recommendation, therefore, is to install "split systems"--as a minimum--in the bedroom areas. As an absolute minimum, however, I suggest placing a multitude of fans throughout the house so your guests can be comfortable...doing anything less comes across as you being a cheapskate. Second, as already mentioned, we had to clean up the house (of dead bugs, mostly) upon our arrival there. This was not expected and can be avoided by having a cleaning crew sweep through the house the morning of a party's arrival to ensure there are no unwelcome surprises. Third, I recommend you post a notice in a prominent place that check-out time is 10AM (or whatever time it is). I'm sure that information's somewhere in the Rental Agreement, but on Day #7 of a vacation, the details of the Agreement are forgotten. It appeared to my family somewhat abrupt that the cleaning crew showed up at 10AM and announced we had to immediately vacate the house. I'm sure they were correct, but a posted announcement would've precluded that "surprise" to my visitors. Finally, I recommend you install a house telephone that can perform only local calls. Yes, most of your guests have cell phones but, in the event of an emergency, there is no E911 service at that house and emergency-response crews may be delayed in arriving on-scene if the physical address is forgotten by the phoning guest. Please don't construe these suggestions as implying we didn't enjoy the house: we did, very much. But these are ways to make a good rental house a great one. Chuck Smiley
