Our vacation started the moment we entered the home. We were in an oasis that was secluded from the world. The weather was perfect and we kept the sliding doors to the kitchen and living room open all the time We were so comfortable at the house that we stayed home,cooked and enjoyed the fresh fruit and the large sparkling pool every other day. There are so many things to do in Hawaii and we enjoyed Pearl Harbour, Dinner cruise and the Lau Oui. If you live in a rat race at home and need to really get away and relax and enjoy things around you and feel like you don't need a vacation from your vacation then I recommend this beautiful home. You are seconds away from the beach for a stroll at night. If you aren't up to a stroll then you are a few seconds from the store to pick up some wine, light some candles and have a soothing jacuzzi bath. You can even take a relaxing swim in the large sparkling pool before that nice bath. To end our wonderful and romantic vacation we had Yannick (a fabulous chef) cook for us. The wine, food, bread and dessert chosen by our chef was superb. He even thru in some great conversation. You will love his accent and his humor. He served us and even cleaned our places afterwards. Yannick you are the best and we look forward to seeing you again. Everything was made perfect for us. We were so pleased in the fact that we chose this home to rent instead of hotels or villas. We have told all our friends and we will return next year to our favorite oasis Is has been 33 years of working hard with no time to relax. Hale O Ho'okipa is a luxury 4+ bedroom, 5 bath villa, situated a short 150' walk from the beach. This custom designed villa is a contemporary architectural marriage of Miami and Hawaii sensibilities. Completed in 2005, the villa was a 2006 Grand Award Winner in the Building Industry Association of Hawaii annual awards.
Nearby virtually every area and activity of consequence in Honolulu, Hale O Ho'okipa provides luxurious seclusion within a walled and gated compound, on a private road. Shopping, entertainment and fine dining are all just minutes away.
Perfect for couples traveling together or a family desiring space - the master bedroom, which includes its own mini-bar, and second master bedroom are accessed via separate spiraling staircases joined by the Great Room. Sleeps additional depending on bedding configuration, which may be at extra cost . Another bedroom has a separate entrance from the outside. The Guest House is set separately from the main home and includes its own full kitchen, small living area and loft with a queen bed. The interior bath has a sunken whirlpool tub; outside is a shower and 17' heated whirlpool spa.
The villa has two complete kitchens and an outdoor gas fired barbecue. The kitchen in the main house has both SubZero refrigerators and wine coolers, Wolf cook top with grill and griddle, double Wolf ovens, microwave, commercial ice maker, and commercial dishwasher (600 dishes per hour).
Included is a security system, high end media room, and outdoor gas fired BBQ.
Classically trained French chef, daily maid service & spa/massage treatments available at an additional cost; availability is subject to individual vendor, and should be reserved well in advance of arrival.

What we liked best was the privacy afforded by the trees and walls around the backyard pool area. The ultra-modern appliances and home theater were also appreciated greatly. We HIGHLY recommend dinner at Alan Wong's in Honolulu. Advice for future tenants includes: read ALL the notes on the appliances, A/C units, water heaters and home theater. Preview the kitchen before going shopping. Excellent smoothies and mixed drinks can be made with the Vita Mix blender above the oven. Bring your iPod as it hooks easily in to the indoor/outdoor speaker system. Bring water shoes for the rocky beach and coral bottom ocean. We surfed, jet skied, para sailed, hiked and snorkeled Hanauma Bay. The snorkeling was probably the most impressive, but all were fun and reasonably close to the house. The beach is only 50 or so yards from the driveway, but the waves are over 500 yards out, so it is relatively safe for kids with water shoes on to play there, but not very exciting for those hoping to body surf. Overall an impressive home. Wish I could retire there!

We enjoyed staying at this home but we were disappointed in the condition of the pool and were unable to use the spa because the remote control for it was missing. The rooms were very comfortable and there is plenty of space for large groups. The location of the house is great for getting downtown. Also, though the home information said there is a beach within 5 minutes walk, that is not exactly true... you have to cross the edge of a golf course and hotel property to get to the hotel's private beach. A better option is to just drive up the coast where you will find many wonderful beaches.

We're sorry your stay was not as enjoyable as our prior guests. We do want everyone to have a great experience while vacationing in our piece of Paradise, and hope you'll consider us again in the future! POOL:The pool is cleaned once weekly, every Tuesday. Guests did call to alert me the vacuum wasn't moving around in bottom of pool. It was working, just not circulating and has since been repaired. The water is continually being cleansed with heavy duty filters, so always very clean! HOT TUB: is controlled with a remote which was either in the main house kitchen or guest house. I asked the guests to check both spots over the phone, however when I went to the house after they checked out I found the remote in the guest house. So not really a fair review from them on this. BEACH: The beach is indeed less than a 5 minute walk from the front gate of the property. The walk to the Kahala Hotel is noted in the property as being a 10 or so minute walk. They have a great swimming beach and incidentally, it is not a 'private' beach. All beaches in the State of Hawaii are open to the public.
