Hale Ohana is a great place to enjoy Oahu from. It is located minutes from Kailua Beach or the interstate system for day trips. Kailua is a great place to start your adventure from each morning, walking the beach or going to the North Shore. The pool was welcome everyday, and the breezy openess of the house kept the inside temperature surprising cool. No worries here, Aloha!

Beds, pillows etc very comfortable and good supply of dishes, cups and glasses for 7 adults and child. Pool and hot tub were a life saver since we were not able to use the beach during our stay at all due to wind, rain and brown water. Location has good access to all areas around Kailua and Kanahoe with some excellent resturaunts. Hilawea Joes was our favorite. BBQ was also good for some home cooking and was used almost every day. Only suggestion is to fix the one glass pane that was missing and had to put towel in its place when we got a very severe thunder storm. Also two bathrooms could use update.

We really liked the open feel of the Hale Ohana home. We had plenty of room for our family of five. My daughters enjoyed the pool, but wished the hot tub had worked, ( I don't believe it has worked in a while). It was very easy to get around Oahu from this Kailua home. Most locations around the island were no more than an hour's drive. We did a ton of snorkeling, Hanauma Bay, Shark's Cove, Ko'Olina cove and rented our equipment from Snorkel Bob's (great place to rent gear!), visited Pearl Harbor, North Shore (Haleiwa Joe's is great!), Waimea Valley and Falls, Honolulu and Waikiki (Roy's in Honolulu was the best restaurant we visited on the island (superb food and killer chocolate souffles!)

Thank you for your feedback on our home. I'm sorry you did not let our caretakers know you were having trouble with the hot tub so they could help you. The hot tub is in complete working order the timer had been left on a "service" setting during the last cleaning and needed to be reset. I'm glad to hear the rest of the home worked out for you and that you enjoyed all your wonderful activities while on the island.
The home's proximity to the beach was terrific. Just a short pathway walk. Combined with the pool, it made for a terrific place for our kids. The house was in terrific condition, with a kitchen that was fully stocked.

I thought Hale Ohana was well stocked with all we needed for our group. There were all the cooking items needed to cook, beds were very comfortable, roomy feel to the whole place, short walk to beach, short drive to restaurants and grocery stores, short drive to "tourist" attractions but home is located in a quiet area. I would recommend that you rent a bike for the week. It is such a great area to bike! Diving or snorking by the pier in Waimanallo is a great spot, saw a sea turtle and some unusual fish.

The Hale Ohana house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well-stocked with cooking and food preparation items. What my family liked best about the house was its location to the beautiful Kailua Beach. The house was also very conveniently close to the Safeway store. We did have some trouble heating the jacuzzi, and I had been told that the pool could be heated. It was really a bit too cold for swimming in March. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful location in Hawaii. We did something different everyday of our stay. There is a lot to do and see on the island of Ohau--many wonderful memories.

We found the Hale Ohana home to be a wonderful place to spend our vacation. I debated if I should rent a home with a pool or not. I am so glad I rented a home with a pool. We spent every night in the pool and hot tub. The home was also a quick walk to a private beach. The home added the privacy and comfort which made our vaction very special.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Hale Ohana, especially the privacy of the pool and the well kept home. The home was equipped with much of the baby equipment we required, so it was great that we didn't have to bring too much. The Rental agents were very helpful, although it would have been more helpful if they knew what the home included (ie.baby supplies) so we didn't have to bring extra. I thought it was a bit expensive, but when looking at properties in the area, I can see why the homes are so costly. We loved the beach access right down the street and all the beach toys were supplied for us. It was great having our own BBQ so we didn't have to dine out every night with 2 small children. The kids loved the pool and we made use of it daily. We really enjoyed Lucy's restaurant, really great food and not too too expensive. Buzz's was good too, but a little more expensive and the food wasn't as good as Lucy's. Groceries were really expensive, but it helped having the savings card, we saved alot of money with that. Pinky's was good for drinks, but the food was a little greasy. We drove the entire island during our stay and visited the Dole Plantation, Diamond Head Mountain (quite a hike, wear runners), Waikiki Beach and Sea Life Park. The kids loved Sea Life Park although we didn't participate in any of the activities. Next time we will definitely try Maui, but probably just my husband and myself. Vacationing with the entire family should only be done every few years!

We were very happy to find all the extra equipment e.g. boogie boards, snorkeling sets and beach toys. The information booklet that was in the house with all the information made it very easy for us to settle in and enjoy life in paradise. We would definitely recommend this house to others. We were 3 generations travelling together and we all enjoyed having our own rooms and bathrooms; it was a perfect layout for our group. The welcome basket was a nice surprise and we were grateful that we had coffee for the first morning. The deeded beach access was very convenient and we really took advantage of Kailua beach. My favourite memory must be watching the sun rise on Kailua Beach; it shouldn't be missed.

Hale Ohana was great for kids. We really enjoyed the pool and spa after a long day on the beach, golfing, wind surfing, or sight seeing. The home is well outfitted and on a quiet street. We like Kailua because of the home town nature of the setting, off the tourist beaten path. rnWe highly recommend Hale Ohana. L and L drive in and Pinkys are two good local restuarants. The beaches are close by. rnWe had our kids and grand kids with us. We all had a great time.

Even though I live on another island in Hawaii, Lanikai was just beautiful, even to a local family like mine. Being at a house with a pool and a beach nearby was terrific. The beach was ideal for the young ones to boogie board. Having the market nearby was a plus also. Also, the travel time to other areas over the H3 was a breeze. It didn't take long to get to either Ala Moana or Sea Life Park. This place is excellent for anyone with a toddler. Because of the enclosed yard and doors that can be securely locked, even with the pool right outside your living room, there is no safety problem. It was a great vacation and we would surely consider doing it again!

A beautiful home with comfortable beds and furniture. We felt at home in a quite neighborhood with the beach close by and the swimming pool was a great extra for the kids to have fun in. Our rental was everything we asked for and more. Anyone renting this unit should expect the best because they will certainly get it.
