We liked that we were close to town & still on the beach. The views were wonderful. Unfortunately it was a very windy week while we were visiting causing the windows to get very dirty & too much blowing sand on the beach. We would have washed the windows if there had been a bucket, ammonia & a squeegee. The staff responded to our calls, but the AC wasn't fixed until the end of our stay. The room with the maroon bedspread had a high pitched humming sound so we quickly turned it off. The twin bedroom's AC had a condensation leak, so we didn't use it either. The maroon bedspread room also had a leak somewhere in the ceiling as the bed was wet. There were a number of issues that when I mentioned them it appeared as though the management knew about the problems prior to our arrival yet they hadn't been taken care of. The best part of our trip was being in Hawaii. We enjoyed the relaxing holiday that we had. The best restaurant we found was in Kailua, Uahi Island Grill, it was really good. Longhi's at the Ala Moana shopping center was good too. We also had a great lunch in Haleiwa at the burger place that's been in business for 30 yrs (new larger location on the main drag, don't remember the name, cash only). Our favorite picture was taken at the Paradise Cove luau (Ko 'Olina) with the birds, they put on a good show. My advice to future guests at the house would be to bring ear plugs, the construction next door was not noisy for construction, but noisy enough... Monday-Friday they start around 7am.The bedrooms were also light at dawn, we slept with the windows & doors open for ventilation, but if the AC had worked the curtains wouldn't have made the rooms dark. But the main issue that we had was the lack of privacy. The master bathroom was not totally separate from the master bedroom which is not totally separate from the room with the twin beds. The walls do not go all the way to the ceiling. I knew that the twin bed room had the partial wall, but I didn't remember that it was with the master bedroom! I definitely prefer more privacy (especially in the bathroom), at any price, but especially when we are paying top dollar. The other thing about the master is that there was only a lamp on one side of the bed, maybe a wall hung light could be installed on the other side of the bed for reading. Overall the unit was OK, looking a little run down & in need of sprucing up. There weren't even 6 matching glasses or wine glasses. The furniture in the main living room was damp feeling & not overly comfy. The dampness may have been because of the weather that we had while we were there, but it was noticeable. I think our main issue was value for dollar spent. We spent top dollar for beachfront location & the house itself wasn't top dollar. Location yes, house no. At a lower price point my expectations would have been lower too. All in all we still had a wonderful time in Hawaii & hope to return soon.

Unusual very windy and rainy days caused more than the usual salt and moisture to be in the air and in the home. Guest were expecting sunny days and not the type of weather that was during their stay. It did contribute to the moisture in the home and ceiling fans which was the cause of moisture in the maroon room when ceiling fan was on. Roof was inspected and no leaks found. Home does have roof vents for added ventilation and as guest are informed during arrival they have to be closed some if there is rain. AC in master bedroom and twin room did work but unit for 3rd & 4th room did go out. We addressed it immediately and box fans were take over to home and service techs did fix the problem before guest left. A quick washing of the plate glass ocean side windows did clear up the glass but within a few hours it would get covered by the salt in the air from the wind and rain. Early morning noise was from neighbors help that arrived in morning as their voices were heard early in the morning. Neighbor was notified right away and had it corrected. He did not start any work before 7:30 and was very respectful as to not disturb guest while working in his yard and doing some painting. There are sets of matching and wine glasses in cabinet with the Margarita glasses. Guest did not look. We did address all concerns immediately.
It was a little dated but construction was obviously well done. The front door latch needed fixing and I certainly did not like the new energy saver light bulbs (flourescent). It took away from the overall look inside the house at night time. That said, this is a great house, a great location and a great rental. I would rent it again. Big thank you to Mary Kress at VRA. Very, very helpfull. Tim Campbell

Our family (family of 5 plus grandparents) enjoyed the location of this property very much. We found that a few things needed repairing/improving (ie. light bulbs changing, light switches no longer working, sliding door locks were a bit tight, etc.) but in general, the house was comfortable. The house was ready for kids! Boogie boards, sand toys, float tube---it was great! Kia'aina arrived quickly when we called on his help, which was fantastic! Thank you!

What we liked best was the beautiful view of the ocean.

The location was perfect. We were up and on the beach as soon as we got out of bed. The beds were very comfortable and everything we needed was at the house; boogie boards, sand toys, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. The fenced yard and lania was especially great for our 6 year old grandson. He was usually the first to get up (at sunrise), and being able to play outside or sit outside in the hammock was wonderful for him and gave him something to do while patiently waiting for someone to get up and take him swimming. Everything else was more then we expected. With 6 adults and one child, there was plenty of space for each of us to have privacy and room for us to be together. We only had one concern and that was the amount and thickness of dust on the fans, tops of picture frames, and light fixtures. The rest of the house was very clean, but the build up of dust up high was bothersome. However, I would definitely go back. It was a beautiful and wonderful location and the beach was never crowded.

Fan blade edges were swollen and not dusty. Frames were cleaned.
We loved the beachfront location the best. The customer service was excellent - always immediate! Boogie boarding out front of the house. A Japanese restaurant in Waikiki (I've forgotten the name) The best picture was on Waikiki beach with a fantastic sunset behind us. Basically the house was fantastic - we loved it. I voiced our concerns regarding the air conditioning and that is the only reason I gave it four stars - if we come back, we would love to stay in the same house again. I have to say that dealing with Kia'aina Wong was a bonus because he made it more personal by always getting back immediately and we really appreciate that. Thank you

AC main board was replaced.
We had the most wonderful stay at your facility - the view, the weather, the yard, and the space in the home were perfect. We would definitely consider staying with you again. The only constructive criticism I have is that we had no air conditioning in one bedroom for nearly the entire stay, we had very, very, poor refrigeration (if any) the entire stay, and we were asked to remove our shoes at the door only to find the floors so filthy our feet looked as if we had shoes on. There is room for improvement here, and I hope you make the improvements because the home is wonderful with lots and lots of potential. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

Air Conditioner was fixed and replace with new AC compressors for the split unit system.
We were in Oahu for the 2008 Pac Cup and chose this house becuase it was on the beach and just a few minutes from Kanehoe Bay Yacht Club, The location of this house was absolutely wonderful. The beach and water were beautiful and everyone in the party kept asking me how I found it. We were in absolute heaven. Everytime we walked out back someone would comment again on how beautiful it was and how lucky we were. The two sitting areas (each with a TV) were great with the kids. We could send them off to whichever one the adults weren't using to watch TV. I would give it 4 and a half stars if I could. The only thing holding me back from a five were some little minor things like the one room by the garage was really dark and that bed was hard. The master bedroom was great and had a softer bed. Gosh even with that I should give it five stars but I can't figure out how to change it now. We would definitely stay in this unit again. One tip on the unit, look in the cupboard at the far left that faces the small table before you go to the grocery store. We did not realize there was food in there and we left things in it when we left, too. Enjoy!

The best thing about the unit was its location and privacy, the beach was great. The Customer Service was excelent, they were there for check in and check out. The best part of the trip was family time spent together in a comfortable environment. Funny as it may seen the best food was at the Hilton Hawiian village, there price and service was better than any of the local places we tried, that did not make sense to me. The coast line lead to tons of spactural photos. My advise to someone else staying in the unit, is plan on playing on the beach as much as possiable. The thing I liked about this trip was we got out and visited all the Island, there is plenty to see and do. We did pay a deposit and left the place in great shap, so 60 days to return the deposit seems unproporational

Kailua Beach Bungalow is truly a one of a kind Hawaiian home - fantastic views and right on beautiful Kailua beach. All eight of us fit into the home as if it was our own. The kitchen is extremely people friendly - lots of working space. We loved the two sitting areas - one for the adults and one for the kids! Looking forward to our next vacation.

We had a great time at Kailua Beach Bungalow, the house is in a great location, as well as being a very comfortable home. The weather was also fortunately fantastic. I higly recommend this vacation rental.

One of the nicer vacation homes for rent. Great set up for 8 people, with an open kitchen and lots of common spaces. We really enjoyed it.

We had a blast! The location was great and the beach access was ideal. The garage door didn't work and that wasn't taken care of in a timely fashion. The fridge was rusted and a little gross, but other than that, great place. Wonderful for the kids! We will probably stay there next year!

This beachfront bungalow was a very pleasant place for a family reunion. Everybody enjoyed the ocean view, beautiful beach, and BBQ in the back yard. It is in a quiet residential area, but not too far from Honolulu or North Shore. Highly recommended!

The House is beautiful! The beach is beautiful. The only thing that can be updated is the cushions in the family room sofas.
Mary M., Piedmont, Ca, 7.11.05
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The house exceeded expectations, and the service from the rental agency and the property managers was excellent. Special thanks to Sue, who was a pleasure to deal with. Aloha and mahalo.

Wonderful location, and very helpful support staff. I would, though, remove the alarm system completely, since it is not functioning properly, and given the rather open design of the house, the beep beep beep that the alarm made every time a door was open was very stressful for us, since we had two twin two year olds napping/sleeping, and were constantly afraid of waking them. Things did break, which happens in such a salt air environment, but Powell was very good about repairing/replacing things very promptly, and all in all the design of the home, and the location, makes for a very enjoyable low-key holiday stay. Thanks again!

Thanks for everything. The house, the view and the service was fantastic. We had a lovely time an hopefully can return someday. Thanks, the Wynn Family

While the location is superb, this home is in need of some major updating and facelifting throughout. It came as no surprise that the owners are selling it, which may explain why they have not put any money into it for some time. And, although it was disclosed to us there was no air conditioning, we didn't realize how not having it would effect our comfort. It is a must! We enjoyed the beach tremendously and loved being only a few steps away from a beautiful and very private beach. We intend to revisit Kailua Bay!
