Enjoyed the open layout of the house. If you have little kids, they'll enjoy the large backyard and the great access to the beach. At first, I was searching and searching for that 5th bedroom. Alas! There it was apart from all the action. It was actually a great room for my parents.
I hate to admit it, but I liked L&L and Giovanni's shrim shack near Sunset.
We had a wonderful stay at the home. It was perfect for all nine of us (one which was 2 yrs old who loved the backyard). We received excellent customer service from Steve when a small refrigerator problem arose and he came by the day we left to see us off. I would recommend leaving a note for the residents to take inventory of things like coffee filters etc as we did not and bought alot of items that were available at the home left from previous residents. We did the same thing. Overall the home was comfortable and enjoyable for all. The mornings on the lanai with coffee and evenings with wine, beer and good conversation made our vacation a hit. We didn't want to leave. Thanks and we look forward to future rentals with your company.
The location was great. The living area and kitchen are nice and airy with ample room for everybody. The backyard and lanai area were also nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms are in need of renovating. The closets were old, worn, and had a musty smell.
We had a very enjoyable vacation at the house. There is plenty of space for everyone to have quiet time, and the beach access is very convenient. The beach is awesome! We enjoyed the sand toys, boogie boards, and other beach items stored at the house. The lanai and large kitchen are great for preparing dinner gatherings. House is a little warm due to lack of A/C, but cools off at night if you leave everything open. Some of the neighbors are early risers though. Also, you must be careful about cleaning up and leaving food out, as the ants will find things very quickly!
The cleaning crew did not complete their job. They left rugs in the dryer, bed linens in the washing machine. They also did not take care of the recyclables that ere left from the previous renters. The rental agent was not easily reachable to take care of these problems. On the other hand, the close proximity to the beach and the beach itself was wonderful. We all enjoyed the relaxed stay in the house.
The house fit the needs of my family very well. It is the first time we have stayed in Kailua and are happy that we did. Thank you.

Clean. Many unexpected comforts. Acommodated four couples and three small children easily. The beach was beautiful and empty of crowds. The lanscaping was lovely. Our week here was the high point of a three week stay. As retired military the close access (about three miles) to the marine base was extremely convenient.
We found the layout and location of the Ohana Kailua Beach House ideal for our family vacation in June. The separate king suite with bathroom worked beautifully for one couple, and the generous number of bedrooms inside allowed the grandchildren to have their own space.
Additional information in the guest book would be helpful. Although we did not have difficulty finding the correct route to the beach, others might. Of particular concern for us was knowing what to do with recyclables.
My real rating is 4++ or 5-. The location and basic house are truely wonderful, a good value, but I think due to the very recent remodel, there were several small items that need simple attention. Several light bulbs were out, notably the overhead flourescent in the master bath and patio overheads. A neighbor hasseled a couple of the women, with children present, for using the beach access from the back yard; something that should be worked out and either the renters precluded from use or the neighbors understanding the access. Some fit and finish issues with drawers and cupboards noticed. However, more to the point, the backyard is wonderful for relaxation and entertaining the house friendly and comfortable, the location superb; I would definitely rent again and will recommend to any friends with the opportunity.
