It was a little dated but construction was obviously well done. The front door latch needed fixing and I certainly did not like the new energy saver light bulbs (flourescent). It took away from the overall look inside the house at night time. That said, this is a great house, a great location and a great rental. I would rent it again. Big thank you to Mary Kress at VRA. Very, very helpfull. Tim Campbell
Tim C., Calgary, Alberta, 4.2.11
Our family (family of 5 plus grandparents) enjoyed the location of this property very much. We found that a few things needed repairing/improving (ie. light bulbs changing, light switches no longer working, sliding door locks were a bit tight, etc.) but in general, the house was comfortable. The house was ready for kids! Boogie boards, sand toys, float tube---it was great! Kia'aina arrived quickly when we called on his help, which was fantastic! Thank you!
Eve C., West Vancouver, BC, 3.25.11
The home's proximity to the beach was terrific. Just a short pathway walk. Combined with the pool, it made for a terrific place for our kids. The house was in terrific condition, with a kitchen that was fully stocked.
Crystal I., Seattle, WA, 3.3.11
we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the house it was perfect. The kids loved the pool and got a lot of really good use and the location was great. I will be telling my friends about this house..... Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with our family!
Dani S., Fall City, Wa, 2.27.11
A clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay. We even had cat time with Chico, the cat. Walking distance to the beach. We even caught Hawaii Five-0 filming at Kailua Beach Park.
Cynthia C., Honolulu, Hawaii, 2.12.11
We just returned from a week at Ohana Beach House, and had a great time. I previously lived in Kailua, and was a bit skeptical about being at the north end of the bay/beach, but the location turned out to be perfect. Far enough from the main Kalaheo Drive to be quiet and private, yet close to Safeway, about a 40 second walk to the beach down a private lane for a nice daily walk to Kalapawei Market, very few people on our piece of beach, etc. The neighbors were all really friendly and we felt at home. There was some construction going on next door that was a bit annoying, but that is not the fault of Ohana Beach House. The customer service was great. When we went to fire up the BBQ on the first night, there was no gas in the tank, but a quick phone call got that rectified the next day. All in all, we were extremely pleased with our choice. The only things we might recommend is a larger frying pan in the kitchen for cooking meals, a large salad bowl, making sure the BBQ is clean (we had to scrape and burn all the gunk off from the previous rental, and there was ALOT), and making sure there are ping-pong balls for the advertised ping pong table (hint - you can get some at Safeway down the street, and we left 1 behind). All minor issues, and we wouldn't hesitate to return. Thanks for being part of our great vacation. Mahalo!
Darren H., Victoria, BC, 2.3.11
Kimberly and Chuck were wonderfully friendly and helpful! The location was great - convenient, but quiet. I would suggest that you add a flashlight to the equipment provided as the alley can be quite dark if walking back at night. The building itself was comfortable, but is getting a bit tired - some dollars put into some maintenance might be good. The best "insider" tip was Kimberly's suggestion of the blueberry/cream cheese scones at Elvin's (sp?). Buzz's was good, as always, and their calamari steak (which we tried for the first time) was wonderful! We have family on the island, so have been over there several times. There's always something new, but much of the island is becoming quite comfortable.
Betty P., Orchard Park, NY, 2.2.11
The customer service received was wonderful! Thank you so much Lori for all your help! Aloha Ulu
Tasha C., Honolulu, HI, 2.2.11
What I liked best about the Baby Hona unit was the proximity to the Kailua Beach park where there is great swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. Kailua is a great location for seeing Oahu.
Piero D., Flagstaff, AZ, 2.1.11
The home was clean, well equiped, close to the ocean and beautiful. Anything we imagined could be found in the house. The staff was friendly, helpful and kept in touch with us during our stay. Staying so near the beach is heavenly as we could go down in the morning or afternoon and stay as long as we wanted - no parking and easy packing for lunch. We loved that we had chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards available to us. The water was perfect. Also nice that the house was safe for babies.
Amy O., Sparks, NV, 1.31.11
Liked best - great location and wonderful beach. Best restaurant - Buzz's Rental unit - was spacious and comfortable.
Fredrick D., New Brighton, MN, 1.30.11
What I liked best about what I rented was that the house was so equipped. We have rented houses all over the world and never been in a house so equipped. There was even a coffee grinder and an espresso pot. There was hand soap in all the bathrooms and kleenex in all the rooms. There were a couple kids books, and movies and toys and all the beach equipment you could possibly need with small kids. These small touches make the visit really special. We ate at a few really good restaurants, in Kailua, Tokoname (Japanese sushi), Saigh (Thai in Kailua), Alan Wong in Honolulu if you are a real food nerd like us. The service mindedness of Verena was exceptional. Really private spacious garden and really close to the beach, which felt private too! Well be back. Angela Dag from Oslo Norway
Angela T., Bekkestua, Bekkestua, 1.26.11
What we liked best was the beautiful view of the ocean.
Natalie L., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 1.24.11
Great place. Well kept. Good staff and help. Loved the home. We would come back again. Thank you.
Gabriel J., Centreville, Virginia, 1.23.11
This spot was everything we expected and then some. Kimberly our property manager was a great host.
David M., Ballston Spa, NY, 1.22.11
The house was perfectly equipped for a family. It was so nice and secluded in a safe neighborhood, only five minutes from the beach. We walked through a beautiful grassy park to get to the beach. We liked that restaurants were within short distance. About 8 blocks away. We had our choice of American, Mexican, Chinese, Thai and just about any kind of food. I would definitely go back...
Mary W., Wetumpka, Al, 1.22.11
The house was fantastic! Lots of space for the whole family (6 adults & 4 children) with excellent location. Close enough to the beach you could hear the waves at night and walk to it was very short. The fenced in back yard provided some privacy for relaxing on the back patio in the evening or for morning coffee. Aside form one day of heavy rain, the entire trip was wonderful. The beach by the house was by far the best part. It was never crowded, even on the nice sunny weekends, and the water and sand were perfect. The North Shore was fun, especially stopping by Pipeline to see the surfers take on the big waves there. The Aquarium and the Zoo were good for something to do with the kids, although we did not particularly care for Waikiki (too crowded and commercial). I would highly recommend this house to my friends, and am already thinking about next year.
Steven B., Fairbanks, AK, 1.18.11
The unit was well situated for relaxation at the beach and at the house. Everything we needed to have a relaxing time was there, including beach chairs, towels and boogie boards. The best part of our trip was just having time to spend with our adult children, their families and our Oahu cousins. The best restaurant we visited was Tokkuri-Tei for sushi and Japanese food and Uncle Bo's for Pupus both in Honolulu. We drove to a lot of other parts of the island so next time I would want to spend more time around Kailua.
Gary S., Laurel, MD, 1.12.11
The unit was very functional and close to the beach. The unit had lots of beach chairs etc and we took a quick trip into costco and bought another chair and a couple of umbrellas and some new boogie boards and we were set. When our GPS gave us bad directions to the unit from the airport Lori spent an additional 2-3 hours waiting for us and guiding us in on our cell phones. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the beach(2-300 yds away) was beautiful. Get up early to see the sunrise as it may come up between the 2 islands in front for a spectacular view. we enjoyed renting the car and touring the island and saw all around the island. The best was the old way around to the North Shore and the drive into Waikiki going south along the Ocean Highlight for us was going to the North shore and doing Shark encounters in the shark cage . I would suggest Haunama Bay(go earlybefore 10), Sea Life park after 12 big discount) You can rent kayaks 5 minutes away lots of things to do The only problem with the unit was we had a large group(9)and there are 3 large bedrooms however there is a smaller middle room with twin beds that is situated between the 2 bedrooms and the front room and kitchen and you had to pass through it or go outside There was no privacy in this room for whoever stayed in there. We worked around it and it wasn't that big a deal except first thing in the morning. Also the dishwasher was finicky and didn't always work. Primo Beer and Kona Longboarder lager and my boys drank lots of it. Lots of good restaurants in the immediate area within 5 minute drives. Nothing fancy but good food. Halawea Joes (only after 5)was the best in Kaneohe10 minutes away. Other wise you had to go into Waikiki . My family thouroughly enjoyed our stay and found almost all of the people friendly in the area. Highlight was my parents 65th wedding anniversary and the the night out at the Polynesian cultural centre. they went out of there way to make them feel special. we would definitly come back to stay as it the area is beautiful Kirk & Lori and family Calgary, Alberta Canada
Kirk C., Calgary, Altberta, 1.10.11
We were greeted upon arrival and could get help as needed via phone. The location is great - directly across from Kailua Beach and just around the corner from Lanikai. The duplex is island style, with lots of open air (large screened-in porch, great tradewinds through the unit). As anywhere on the island, you have to keep the counters really clean and trash out regularly to keep from being overrun with ants in the kitchen. As for Kailua, the best restaurants are Lucy's (service isn't great, but the seafood is) and Casablanca (Moroccan with great ambiance). Make sure to get poke at Foodland, as well! The best beaches within walking distance are Kalama and Lanikai. Shopping in Kailua town is expensive, but Bookends is a great local book shop to get used and new books to read at the beach and for a good local lunch get a salad from Aloha Salads (uses locally grown produce) or an acai bowl or smoothie from Lanikai Juice. On other parts of the island, I would recommend visiting the USS Missouri and getting a tour by one of their guides (most prior Navy veterans), traveling up to the North Shore to watch surf competitions in the winter, going to Chinatown for First Friday (the first Friday of every month), body surfing at Mokapu (across from Sea Life Park), climbing Diamond Head or one of the more challenging hikes on the island, skydiving on the North Shore, going to a Sunday polo game on North Shore, or scuba diving (Aaron's dive shop is in Kailua and will give rides from Kailua and Waikiki). Anyone who gets island fever is crazy - there is so much to do on the island if you venture outside of Waikiki and all the tourist trap spots.
Michelle S., Wesley Chapel, Florida, 1.8.11
Ava's Place was great. It was clean and nicely decorated, had just the right amount of space for myself and my 2 adult sons. It is located in a quiet residential area close to one of the best, non-crowded beaches in Hawaii. Convenient and close to everything in Kailua as well as nicely situated for taking either the Pali or H3 into Honolulu. We lived in Kailua several years ago and Ava's Place was a perfect place to stay while revisiting old friends and favorite spots on Windward Oahu ! Service was efficient and hassle free. I would definitely recommend Ava's Place !
Catherine M., , , 1.6.11
Great location, great house. The only negative for us was it is near a busy road so was a bit noisy. Everything else was great! It was nice to be able to just walk to the beach.
Gail K., Carson City, NV, 1.4.11
The unit was way above what we expected. Very clean and had everything we needed. The customer service was great and had no problems what so ever. The best part of my trip was the just sitting back and relaxing, the beach was a short walk and not crowded at all. I would highly recommend people to stay here. Everything you need is a short walking distance nice little store just down the road made it nice when we ran out things. The worst thing about our trip was we had to leave! Thank you very much and we will never forget our stay.
Mike H., Fairfield, MT, 1.3.11
Spacious, well-lit, and quite close to the beach. Everything is set up perfectly for you when you arrive. Plenty of windows, showers to get rid of sand, etc. Perfect beach vacation spot if you like the windward side. Having a garage door opener rocks! Great kitchen with all the dishes/pans you could need. One bedroom is in its own cottage (kinda) so very private for two couples. Only downside was uncomfortable furniture in living/dining room. Wireless internet is "g" class as of Dec. 2010. 2 TVs are nice (but smallish) HD with hdmi inputs.
Erica and Zack T., Manhattan Beach, CA, 1.2.11
This house is well equipped, especially with kitchen and beach equipment, and it has plenty of space. It is also superbly located, literally a few yards from Kailua beach, which is a beautiful clean, sandy beach with gently sloping sea bed. Usually in our trips to Hawaii we drive around from beach to beach. Not this year - we appreciated being able to pick up a couple of boogie boards and chairs from the house supply and stroll down to the beach in two minutes. The house has a nice big back yard with a lawn that my kids enjoyed using for cartwheels and kicking a ball around. The house needs some routine maintenance. The bedroom doors don't fit very well. While we were there, we experienced heavy rain and the roof leaked in two places - not a problem for us, but for the owner! Also, despite a visit from the Terminix guy while we were there, we found a couple of cockroaches in the kitchen, and the ants were everywhere. We rapidly became well trained in picking up every tiny crumb, or there would be an "ant party" (as my younger daughter put it) when we got up in the morning. I guess the poor weather may have driven them indoors in larger numbers than usual. Suggestions for Kailua: Crepes at the Crepes No Ki Ha (I think it was called) downtown. New beach reading material from Book Ends, also downtown, which you can combine with good coffee at Morning Brew (though the food was nothing to write home about). We did our grocery shopping mainly at the Foodland downtown, which is higher end than Safeway but not as high as Whole Foods (one is currently being build in Kailua - I can only imagine how much their food will cost!!). We also enjoyed multiple trips to the Orange Tree Frozen Yoghurt store on Hekili Street. Try the taro flavored yoghurt, it goes well with coconut... A big hit with our kids.
Michelle C., Palo Alto, CA, 12.30.10
We loved being right on the beach. We boogie boarded or played in the surf every day except our departure day. We loved the yard mongoose and playing frisbee in the huge yard. The house was spacious and each couple or person had his/her own room. We missed air conditioning some days but were mostly comfortable. A heated pool would be excellent but it was hot enough to warrant a dip on a couple of days. We had a Christmas Eve dinner at Benihani that was great. We mostly ate off the grill as we have a few with restricted diets so that worked out well. We loved Hanauma Bay and Shark's Cove for snorkeling and we also watched surfing on the bigger waves at Wiamea. Mostly we just enjoyed the family togetherness and warmth of the season. The house was a perfect setting and everything that we needed was there.
Cheryl M., Bellingham, WA, 12.29.10
Our stay at Makana's place was wonderful. The home is beautiful and the patio was very private. The customer service was incredible. If we needed anything we just called and it was taken care of right away. Kailua is a very friendly and beautiful place to visit. We look forward to visiting again.
Rachael S., Milton, Wa, 12.27.10
The location was perfect. We were up and on the beach as soon as we got out of bed. The beds were very comfortable and everything we needed was at the house; boogie boards, sand toys, towels, kitchen supplies, etc. The fenced yard and lania was especially great for our 6 year old grandson. He was usually the first to get up (at sunrise), and being able to play outside or sit outside in the hammock was wonderful for him and gave him something to do while patiently waiting for someone to get up and take him swimming. Everything else was more then we expected. With 6 adults and one child, there was plenty of space for each of us to have privacy and room for us to be together. We only had one concern and that was the amount and thickness of dust on the fans, tops of picture frames, and light fixtures. The rest of the house was very clean, but the build up of dust up high was bothersome. However, I would definitely go back. It was a beautiful and wonderful location and the beach was never crowded.
Ellie C., Edgewood, NM, 12.20.10
Our families three generations from Santa Barbara, San Francisco and London had a wonderful Time here. It was a perfect place for 10 months olds to 78 years old to be together. Verena was wonderful and we loved your gracious home. Most of us lived on Oahu for many years and this place brought back many sweet memories. The Hurwit Family.
Liza T., Arcadia, CA, 12.16.10
We like to cook and the kitchen was very well equipped. The decor was very nice, very new, and very clean. Customer service was responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach and the pool. We ate at Buzz's Restaurant and really enjoyed the meal. The house is quite large and would comfortably accommodate eight guests. There are lots of puzzles, books and games, and a good selection of videos.
Gayle L., Friday Harbor, WA, 11.23.10
The location was excellent. The house layout was super for my family of 6 adults and 2 children. Lots of room to be all together or little spaces for time on your own. The service we received from Kiaaina was also excellent. Every request or question we had, he got back to us within the hour. Very accommodating. The best part of my trip was having all my family together for 2 weeks and being able to do everything they could. Lucy"s was a great eating experience and they were very considerate of the children's needs. We didn't eat out a lot because we had the BBQ and it was just nice to sit around the pool and eat dinner in the evening. Besides, everyone wanted to chill after a day at the beach.
Roie H., Calgary, Ab., 11.19.10
We loved the beachfront location the best. The customer service was excellent - always immediate! Boogie boarding out front of the house. A Japanese restaurant in Waikiki (I've forgotten the name) The best picture was on Waikiki beach with a fantastic sunset behind us. Basically the house was fantastic - we loved it. I voiced our concerns regarding the air conditioning and that is the only reason I gave it four stars - if we come back, we would love to stay in the same house again. I have to say that dealing with Kia'aina Wong was a bonus because he made it more personal by always getting back immediately and we really appreciate that. Thank you
Lorainne S., Burnaby, BC, 11.18.10
We very much enjoyed our stay. The house is as it appears in the photos - spacious, clean, with a lovely backyard. It was perfect for our week with grandma and our two kids.
Dan L., Albany, CA, 11.15.10
Don't judge Honu Hale as you first pull off the Highway onto the lane. It is a little difficult to see at night, and getting out of the lane is difficult as it is a blind corner. We love the beach across the street, it is very beautiful spot. The manager's, Chuck & Kim , were very helpful in finding places and recommendations on where to go and where to eat. Honu Hale is roomy with it's two bedrooms, the third bedroom is very small. If you have claustrophobia you won't want to stay in this room. The kitchen has everything you need, the closed in porch is great to sit and eat, visit, etc. It is a good value compared to your big hotels. Aloha
Patricia C., Des Moines, IA, 11.11.10
Very close to beach, easy access to down town. Large yard was good for children to play and out side dinning. There was a gas BBQ grill, even though it was not listed.
Yuichi I., Tokyo, Tokyo, 11.7.10
I would definitely recommend BeachWalk to all our friends. The location was perfect, close to the beach, close to town, just perfect! BeachWalk was beautifully decorated and all the details were addressed! It was a wonderful vacation spot and we can't wait to return!!
Sharon P., Glendale, CA, 10.31.10

Hiroki T., Tsuchiura, Ibaraki, 10.29.10
2 families from Tokyo, Japan (the Tomitas and Ozekis) stayed here for 8 nights and had a great vacation! We watched 2 boys (ages 4 and 5) play at the beach, the front lawn and in the pool, and 2 baby girls crawl and walk around the house and garden and felt very safe and comfortable. Verena was very nice and attentive to our needs thank you! We vacation in Hawaii every year and love the Kailua area and look forward to coming back again. Mahalo, Mako, Kuni, Taiyo, Yuma, Zeki, Takako, Kosuke and Mia.
Cheryl C., Hollister, Ca, 10.29.10
This was our 10th family vacation on Kailua Beach, and the first at Hale O Ke Kai. We really enjoyed The home and the friendly assistance from Verena. Having a pool was a great amenity. We recommend using the bikes to cruise around townlots of fun! Island Snow is great for shave ice, & Don Quijote for all else. Please feed all the birds they loved getting our left-overs on the lawn! The Estabrooks, Park City, Utah.
Myron W., Laguna beach, CA, 10.25.10
We loved the Aloha Spirit for our vacation rental. The home had everything we needed with many extras that made it feel like our home. The beautiful yard, beach toys, bicycles, wonderful open patio, island decorations, great kitchen and short walk to the most amazing beach made our visit perfect. The customer service we received from Aloha Beachfront Rentals was the best. We had to plan our trip on short notice and extend our stay at the last minute. Kia'aina at Aloha Beachfront Rentals answered our calls and emails each time promptly and went out of his way to help us have a great stay.
Joyce G., Beaumont, TX, 10.5.10
It was a great place and I loved the swimming pool a lot! I would really love to stay again but couple things that would help improve about the property as below. - I really do think the place needs air condition. - The grill (Barbecue) which was one of the top item that I was looking forward to do was very dirty and could not use it.
Daniel H., Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, 9.28.10
We had the most wonderful stay at your facility - the view, the weather, the yard, and the space in the home were perfect. We would definitely consider staying with you again. The only constructive criticism I have is that we had no air conditioning in one bedroom for nearly the entire stay, we had very, very, poor refrigeration (if any) the entire stay, and we were asked to remove our shoes at the door only to find the floors so filthy our feet looked as if we had shoes on. There is room for improvement here, and I hope you make the improvements because the home is wonderful with lots and lots of potential. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.
Steve W., Cincinnati, OH, 9.28.10
Very close to kailua beach and everything is well prepared(bodyboat, snokeling, beach goods, towels, kitchen goods etc). We spent almost two weeks and it was very confortable.
Kenro T., Shinagawa, Tokyo, 9.28.10
We loved the pool!
Mary G., Mayville, WI, 9.17.10
What a wonderful little getaway! Tucked away from the main road but close enough for a walk to the beach and a run through Lanikai! I loved it! Thank you :o)
Stephanie T., Rio Rancho, NM, 9.9.10
We had a wonderful time in Hawaii. The scenery is fantastic, the weather gorgeous. The rental was clean & well equipped, and suited our needs very well. We absolutely loved being walking distance to such a beautiful beach. We appreciated having boogie boards, beach chairs and towels there, so we could start enjoying the beach first thing. A nice way to get over jet lag. It's hard to pick a favorite part of our trip. Our favorite scenic drive would be going from Kailua to Hanauma Bay. We loved snorkeling in Shark's Cove, and boogie boarding there in Kailua/Kalama beach. Our favorite food was banana macademia nut pancakes at Boots & Kimo's, and the shave ice at Kokonuts in Koko Marina Shopping Center. (I know, not exactly high brow tastes, but what do you expect w/4 kids? :) I would definitely recommend this house and rental agency to my friends. My only suggestions to improve the rental would be to add drying racks/clothes lines, and measuring spoons in the kitchen. You can tell we had a great time, if these were our "biggest" issues! Thanks for a superb 20th anniversary vacation!
Cynthia C., , , 9.4.10
Our family, consisting of 8 mo & 5 yr old boys, 2 twenty somethings, 2 thirty somethings, and 2 sixty somethings enjoyed our stay immensely. The house is beautiful, yet comfortable. Plenty of room To all hang out. Verena was super attentive and so friendly! Great boogie boarding, snorkeling, soccer on the lawn and splashing in the pool. We are taking some wonderful memories! Thank you for sharing Your family home with us! Mahalo and Aloha, The Montgomery/Coil Family, Bay Area, Callie.
Phil N., Auckland, New Zealand, 9.4.10
The location of this house was ideal. We had a wonderful time. The kitchen was beautiful. I have to say that the mattresses and pillows were pretty worn and ratty. The backyard was great for the kids. We would definitely stay here again.
Pam C., , , 8.31.10
Dearest Hale O Ke Kai, Here we came to spend our first little family vacation with our 4 year old as she describes Awesome Hawaiithe waves sound happythe wind blows but softly in my earsthe stars make the ocean shine and the sky gets cloudy and brightit makes me happy here! Mahalo for your beautiful and comforting home! Lou, Andre & Nyah
Dee C., Walnut Creek, CA, 8.26.10
What I liked best about the house was the quiet street and close access to the beach. The beds and bedrooms were very comfortable. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The back yard was beautifully landscaped and very relaxing. We enjoyed the early morning walks on the beach. We were in Oahu for our Daughter's wedding. We enjoyed the peace and quiet in Kailua as the wedding and rehearsal were in busy Honolulu. Thank you for letting us stay in one of your beautiful homes.
Susan S., Dayton, Oregon, 8.22.10
This property was amazing! The ocean breeze blowing through the house, the never crowded beach a step away, family dinners on the lanai, the amazing kitchen... I'd rather be there than writing this review. The property owner, Peter stopped buy to see if we were enjoying ourselves and gave us some amazing recommendations in Kailua. The town of Kailua was perfect. It was the complete opposite of Waikiki. Better food, cheaper prices, a quarter of the crowd, perfect. The only problem we had was after the trip... our whole family is depressed now that we are back on the main land. We miss you Hale Manu!
Caleb J., The Woodlands, Texas, 8.20.10
"Kai Nani Cottage is charming! We are so happy to be so close to beautiful Kailua Beach. The Cottage is so clean and fresh. You have thought of everything to make our stay delightful. Mahalo, Cyndy Ching Phoenix, AZ."
Tanya M., Manhattan Beach, Ca, 8.17.10
The customer service was great they were right there with small request of more glasses and very nice about the problem. The houses which are in close proximity of the rental were quiet and were really enjoyed the whole experience. The house was very clean and everything was there. We were a short walk to the beach which was fantastic. I would stay there again and would recommend it to others. Thank you so much for everything.
Toni B., Charleston, South carolina, 8.13.10
Great place to stay, with a large group of people! Beautiful yard with pool was definitely a bonus, easy access to the beach (private) was also an added bonus. The community of Kailua is a great quiet get away, very friendly people, not too far out to visit sites such as Pearl Harbour, North Shore, Honolulu, and many other activities.
Don and Renee C., Edmonton, Alberta, 8.9.10
Laulea is a beautiful home that provided a perfect retreat for our family vacation. The photos are 100% accurate, but in some ways, did not do justice to the splendor. The home is spacious and comfortable, with upgrade features and amenities throughout. The owners are gracious, responsive and accommodating -- appropriate proud owners of this property, which they keep in immaculate condition. Well-stocked kitchen; lots of pool/beach toys provided in garage. The gated street of 5 homes is truly private, and couldn't be more convenient to Kailua Beach Park - directly across the street. Helpful information not included in their property description is the bedroom configuration: Lower Level: Master Bedroom with King; Second Bedroom with two Twin beds Upper Level: Master Bedroom with King; Second Bedroom with two Double/Full beds. Air Conditioning in Master Bedrooms only, operates 7pm-7am. I found the Vacation Rental Agent contract off putting, particularly the no cancellation/no refund policy. I considered renting elsewhere on this basis alone. I purchased trip insurance for peace of mind, and fortunately, everything worked out perfectly. No regrets whatsoever. We would be thrilled to stay here again, and recommend to others without reservation.
Michael S., Milton, GA, 8.8.10
What I liked best about the unit I rented was it was nicely appointed with all of the luxury items we needed to prepare meals, "hang out" at the beach and play table tennis. I really liked the way that this unit was decorated from the wall mirrors to the bedding and linens it was first class, Island comfort. The outdoor showers allowed us to remove beach sand before entering the unit which was a treat. My family really felt at home there and we had plenty of space to be together or have privacy. The customer service was terrific. I felt like we were well cared for. The location was perfect, a few steps from the beach and we could walk to the grocery store. The cockaroaches were expected and annoying, but we learned how to remove them and to keep our kitchen clear of food and scraps. Our snorkeling and Dolphin watching trip with Ocean Joy Cruises was spectacular and highly recommended.
Susan G., Palo Alto, CA, 8.7.10
We had rented it before, and we were familiar with how clean & perfectly it was set up for our needs. Plenty of bedrooms & baths for us! We also have an ongoing relationship with Hawaii Vacation Rentals, Bronson Balles and Patrick Powers, whom, by the way, is the most helpful, polite person that we deal with. He is very helpful and excellent at his work. This is our 3rd rental in Kailua in 5 years, all with Vacation Rentals, and we have never been disappointed. The best part of our trip was waking up everyday to the magnificent view of the mountains and the water from the rear lanai. As we had breakfast, we would decide whether to go to the beach, or just stay at our beautiful rental home, and swim in the pool. We of course ate at Buzz's Steak House, which was excellent, & had breakfast at Boots & Kimo's, also a must. We were pleased by our Italian dinner at Bueno Seras, but the highlight was dining at Roy's in Honolulu, a real treat! The best picture I took was of my wife, sister and two nieces sunning themselves in the 4 lounge chairs on the pool deck. We hopped over to the big island for the day, & went to the Volcano Park, Kona & Hilo. Last time here we went to Maui & hung out in Lahaina, one of our favorite spots. The house is perfect for a family get together and the location is well suited for whatever activity you would like to do. Waikiki is close enough if you want it, but our Aloha has always been Kailua. I highly recommend the KWE to anyone looking for a true, beautiful Hawaiin vacation. We try to visit every 2 years, as my wife is Kama Aina, and we have many friends here in Oahu. Also, as hard as I've tried, I have not played every golf course on the island, though I'm close. As always, much Mahalo for the excellent service, once again. Until we see you again, Aloha!

I really liked the house and its proximity to the beach. It is also tastefully decorated. The pool pump was *very* loud and woke us up every morning at 7am which was a little annoying. Kailua is a little thin on good restaurants. In fact, there are none. The cooking utensils are poor. In this day and age, it is inexcusable to use teflon given that the material is known to be carcinogenic. This is a high-end rental, so some decent stainless steel utensils should be affordable. And some decent barbeque utensils.
Vasant D., New York, NY, 8.6.10
The only drawback this rental really had was the lack of plugs in the bathrooms. Each bathroom only has one plug receptacle and it is at the top of the mirror. It is kind of wedged btween the mirror and the light so it is also very difficult to use. We made due with an extension cord. Everything else was quite nice. The beach out front is wonderful for swimming or kayaking or simply to take a long stroll on the beach
Steven R., Murrieta, Ca, 8.3.10
"Thank you for a peaceful and loving cottage. This was a coming-home vacation for me and my family. This is the beach that I grew up on and Kai Nani allowed me to return to so many memories. Mahalo Nui Loa. Stephen"
Kelly O., San Jose, CA, 7.21.10
The Kailua Designer Suite was very easy to find - even in the dark by someone who had never been on Oahu before. The location was good - about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The suite itself was clean and had recently been redecorated. However - the dishes were meager and not really very clean when we arrived - there were only 3 chairs in the kitchen and while they were 'antique' at least one was pretty shaky to sit on. - there was no really comfortable place to sit in the evening to watch TV. There were two love seat kind of things downstairs but we did not find that sitting area to be very comfortable. - the lanai on the main floor had 2 chairs but no table to set drinks or snacks. - the lanai off the bedroom had only one plastic chair All in all, the place was a 'designer' suite - an unusual layout with nice decor but pretty much totally lacking in any of the niceties that would have made it a truly memorable visit.
Gerald H., Calgary, ALberta, 7.15.10
Great location, spacious and comfortable! From the unit rental agent to the car rental agent and everyone in between, the service was awesome! We didn't want to leave the wonderful island with it's rich culture and hospitality. We loved Hawaii and are seriously contemplating moving there!
Michele D., Sanford, NC, 7.14.10
The home was perfect for our extended family, being close to the beach and having a pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Kailua having lived here for many years! It was wonderful to return and enjoy the lovely home and setting.
Joe C., Santa Fe, NM, 7.9.10
What I liked about this house was it's location. The beach was out back and the old pool in the front. Just great for "teens". It would have.been nice to have a bathroom any and.all could use, Internet should work all the time (not some of the time),and the showers were old(step down about 2feet to get in) I'm handicapped so we got a riser for the toilet and showering was very difficult. We had a nice time Check out 'Lucys' for dinner and 'the Healing Hands' collage for a massage
John P., Newport beach, Ca, 7.6.10
Our stay at Lau Leu was fantastic. The house is well located close to the beach (2 min walk) and only a 5 min drive to the local town center. Peter (Owner) met us at the house and gave us a run down on local activities, shopping, house amenities, etc which was nice to see a host care about his guests and take the time. The house is only 6-8 years old and is in very good condition and is in a gated community, which was nice with our young children running around. Everything was set up and ready to go for us including all lights on, pool cleaned, keys in the rights places, towels and linen all prepped and a nice fresh welcome basket with some good local goodies. Buzz'z steak house is only a 2 min walk and is a must visit to have some Poke and as many Mai Tai's as they will allow!!! We really enjoyed our long stay and would go back to visit Lau Lea with our family anytime. Thank You
Scott S., Carmel, IN, 6.29.10
Great vacation place. Short walk to the beach. Responsive rental host.
Scott L., Seattle, WA, 6.28.10
Hi Bronson, again you set me up with the best place for great price, location to the beach was a short walk and really ideal, even though I didn't do alot of eventful things I came there for the beach, tropical middle of the night down pour, and to read a book, (accomplished all 3), and all I had to do to find the Bitchinist spot in Hi was walk across the street, the unit was awsome, (I think the remote needs attention), 1 of the best features is how well the whole place was kept, (sprayed for bugs, minimum bugs), Geckos ok. Ill be back!

We've made numerous trips to Hawaii and have visited all but one of the islands. We love Kailua Beach because it offers a family friendly atmosphere, close proximity to good shopping and great golf courses, one of the best beaches in Hawaii -- and all the while maintaining a sleepy laid back atmosphere. (It's no wonder that the author of the Oahu Revealed book (a must read for any visitor) chose to live in Kailua Beach while he was writing his book.) We've stayed in Kailua on one other occasion and during our first visit we learned a lot about the area and determined the best place to stay for our next trip. We found it in Lau Lea. The house turned out to be simply amazing and met or exceeded all of our requirements. 1) Beach access -- It's hard to get closer to the beach than Lau Lea. It's basically right across the street. Kailua Beach Park is one of the nicest beach parks on Oahu 2) Pool -- The pool was great with the kids and for cooling off after a day of golf or hiking. 3) High End Amenities -- The house is brand new and completely buffed out. Granite counters, travertine floor, high end artwork, high ceilings, air conditioning (this was a big plus) primo lanai, plush landscaping, custom furniture, outdoor shower, 5 star kitchen and bathrooms (huge walk-in showers), big flat screen TV, and even an indoor/outdoor stereo. Other pluses: 1) Nice neighbors. The kept to themselves for the most part, and offered to let us use their kayaks and all of their gear. How cool is that? 2) A block away from Buzz's Steak House and Kalapawai Market -- We walked there every morning for our coffee. Great spot. 3) Also within walking distance to Lanikai Beach (nice, but overrated in our book), Kayak rental, and Hawaiian shave ice shop. 4) The owners -- The owners are life long residents of Kailua and they know everything to do in the area. They welcomed us when we arrived and were available if we needed them, but more importantly they never intruded and they stayed away unless we asked them to come by. They understand that people take a vacation to get away from others and spend time with family. We never felt as though we were being supervised or checked on. They really just get it. It was perfect. We will be coming back for sure!
Matthew L., Anchorage, AK, 6.1.10
What I like best was the privacy and environment - the location was quiet and secluded... perfect for a family gathering... and added plus was the ducks that gathered in the front yard in the morning... our 2 year old loved the place...
Adrienne D., Honolulu, HI, 6.1.10
Beachwalk is an EXCELLENT location. Every morning I ran in Kailua park and every evening I walked Kailua Beach. Lanikai Beach is just around the corner! Beautiful! This will be my home away from home for all of my future trips!
Mary L., Ada, Oklahoma, 6.1.10
Place was first class - comfortable and readily accessible to beach and town. Service was great, everyone was very professional and easy to work with. Love Buzz's for lunch or dinner (just down the street). Make sure you drive up the East coast and take in H3, views are spectacular. And stay at least 10 days to 2 weeks.
Peter N., Branford, CT, 5.14.10
"Kai Nani Cottage has a nice and beautiful yard! The kids enjoyed boogie boarding at Kalama Beach and catching Puffer fish and crabs at Kailua beach. The house had everything we needed and was very clean! Thanks, The Marks
Amy K., Hood River, Or, 5.11.10
Kalaka Beach side exceeded our expectations! The house was great, location was outstanding. The beach was just a stones throw from the house and the kids loved playing in the surf. Pleanty of restaurants and other attractions close by. Everything we needed was at the house which made our stay that much more enjoyable. The whole family agreed that we would definately stay at Kalaka Beach Side again!
Ben A., Blaine, MN, 4.6.10
The house was very clean and tidy. The customer service was satisfactory. We enjoyed the experience of the island and the friendly people of Hawaii. Romy's Roadside Shrimp and Prawns on the Windward side, recommended by a local we met on the beach was one of the best meals we had. The best photos were of The Pink Hotel and the scenery which is quite different to home. Overall we had a fabulous time in Oahu, the people were friendly the sights were beautiful.
Karen F., Perth, Western Australia, 4.4.10
I thought Hale Ohana was well stocked with all we needed for our group. There were all the cooking items needed to cook, beds were very comfortable, roomy feel to the whole place, short walk to beach, short drive to restaurants and grocery stores, short drive to "tourist" attractions but home is located in a quiet area. I would recommend that you rent a bike for the week. It is such a great area to bike! Diving or snorking by the pier in Waimanallo is a great spot, saw a sea turtle and some unusual fish.
Susan T., Miday, AR, 3.30.10
On this vacation I did all the planning, my wife tells me the Kimo house was the 2nd best highlight of our trip (our sons wedding the 1st), that my selection of this property was spot on. Its location to the beautiful thinly populated beach, shopping and Kailua's close proximity to the airport (25 minutes) are added bonuses. My lovely bride thoroughly enjoyed the all tile heated pool and privacy of the backyard along with the spacious, bedrooms and bathrooms, we especially enjoyed the very comfy upstairs master bed. I cooked daily during our stay and found the kitchen and its appliances far exceeded my expectations. Every knife was razor sharp and a large quantity and quality of plates, glasses and silverware were a pleasant surprise. When I wasn't cooking or spending time with my wifey on the beach or poolside, I spent many hours on a bicycle rented from The Bike Shop in Kailua (call and confirm your reservation twice as they are a bit disorganized). I found the people and or cars on the roads to be very bike friendly on my daily 2-3 hour rides between Kailua and Hanauma Bay. We loved the house so much we called and emailed a few friends to let them know of our find and they should consider this place for their future stays. Our stay in this new modern home on a quiet street in a charming town in paradise was all that we could ask for. Thank you Renee for your helpfulness and patience during the planning phase as I culled through so many properties. And thank you Peter for the helpful house orientation upon arrival.
Michael N., Lewisville, TX, 3.22.10
There were 8 adults and 3 children (8-10) on our trip. The house , Pikake Hale, was just perfect for us. We loved the quiet beaches at Kailua and we were about 30-40 mintues away from the places that we wanted to visit. We had a wonderful Hawaiian Adventure!
James W., McKinney, Texas, 3.21.10
We found the house in perfect order, well equipped, clean and welcoming. The hosts were delightful and helpful. We are not first time visitors to this part of the island so we know what we like and what we want in a vacation rental....this fit the bill to a T!!!! Easy beach access, quiet street (although the main road is close it was not a problem). Thoroughly enjoyed our time and would gladly stay there again...which is a first for us, to repeat a rental!!!
Betsy M., Courtenay, British Columbia, 3.18.10
The Hale Ohana house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well-stocked with cooking and food preparation items. What my family liked best about the house was its location to the beautiful Kailua Beach. The house was also very conveniently close to the Safeway store. We did have some trouble heating the jacuzzi, and I had been told that the pool could be heated. It was really a bit too cold for swimming in March. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful location in Hawaii. We did something different everyday of our stay. There is a lot to do and see on the island of Ohau--many wonderful memories.
Larry and Kathy S., Brea, CA, 3.16.10
Fantastic property with very helpful owners / property managers. Perfect location on the best beach in Oahu, close enough to Kailua town center to walk. Property manager shared great information on local restaurants, attractions and provided a great deal of beach equipment on-site. Loved the property and will stay there again when we return to Hawaii!
Jon S., New York, NY, 3.10.10
The home was an exceptional property, both in terms of location and convenience. The view was wonderful and we really enjoyed watching the sun rise from the bedroom balcony while having our first cup of coffee in the morning. The beach is just steps away. Everyone liked walking in the sand or watching the people strollling down the beach, many with their dogs. The guest book was especially helpful - full of advice, helpful hints and menus collected by guests on local places to eat. We were there almost six weeks and all our needs were met very quickly, Dave even installed a handrail for my mother to make getting into and out of the shower easier for her. Would love to fall asleep listening to the waves every night.
Kathryn G., , , 2.21.10
Beautiful views and peaceful area.
Bob T., Kaneohe, HI, 2.19.10
This home is in a great location. The home is clean and for the most part as advertisied. We were very disappointed that there wasn't a hot tub as adversitied. The beach was great but windy. We would probably look for a place with a hot tub and heated pool next time.
John K., El Dorado Hills, California, 2.14.10
We loved the beautiful beach in Kailua and the comfortable and spacious home. It was wonderful to go for daily walks/runs on the soft smooth sand. We splurged on Alan Wong's restaurant in Honolulu as a treat for the adults, and the kids loved boogie boarding, the Atlantis submarine ride, and Sea Life Park.
Kate L., ANchorage, AK, 2.1.10
I liked the convenience of the location in Kailua; the size of the rental was perfect for our family; and the backyard deck was great for reading, relaxing etc. The only downside to Ava's place was the noise -- lot's of street and neighbor activity. Misty was very responsive to my questions and comments...Would stay there again.
Jeff C., Victoria, British Columbia, 2.1.10
Loved the location, loved the beach access, Dave and Lori were wonderful, we'd come back again. Thanks.
Sheri H., Ripon, CA, 1.26.10
It's quiet here. You'll hear a lot of songbirds. I did in early January. Near the entrance to the lane, Buzz's Restaurant has great food and service. Accepts cash only. Sunday nights are the most crowded. You'll be lucky to find a table outside. Ciappino (fish stew) is great. So is Cajun-style mahi mahi. Salad bar is good, if often crowded. The Buzz mai tai is good. Nice choices for dessert. (Rocky road ice-cream cake is awesome.) Down the road (Kalaheo Drive) a couple of miles, Pinky's restaurant and sports bar is pretty good but the service may leave something to be desired. While I ate there, a mom and her teenage daughter sat down at a table, waited five or ten minutes and then walked out because none of the waitresses came by. This was at lunchtime on a Monday, and the place was not busy. Go slow in the neighborhood. Take extra care exiting the lane -- traffic moves in both directions, even early in the morning -- because the Kailua Beach parking lot is directly across the street and it's a popular place all week. Parking by the unit can be a little tight, so if you rent a car in Honolulu and have a choice between compact and larger car, go with the compact. You won't regret it unless you have a ton of gear. Even then a compact might be a better choice. Remember to check out Lanikai beach nearby. Gorgeous sunrises! Finding a parking spot along the neighborhood street might be tough after ten or eleven in the morning. The entrance to the mountain climb in that neighborhood is hard to find. I drove by it once or twice and ended up asking one of the locals where it is. The climb itself is tough if you're over 40 or out of shape or carrying a heavy backpack. There is no paved path -- you'll be on rock, stones, and dirt the whole way up. Great views though. President Obama played golf at the private Pacific Club at the foot of the mountain when he was president-elect. This is a good location if you play golf. Ko'olau, Olomana, Luana Hills, and Pali are all within a 15- or 20-minute drive of Baby Honu. The front nine of Luana Hills is diabolical, and some of the ravines at Ko'0lau are deadly. Talk about a challenge. Bring a big driver. Practice with your three wood a lot . . . In January, the golf courses on the western side of Oahu look dry by comparison. Took a look at Turtle Bay; to me, the golf courses look overrated (rather flat, and not visually appealing other than the fact that it has a lot of palm trees), from what I could see on the entrance road and from the clubhouse. Busy place, however. The onsite manager of the Baby Honu is very friendly and knows a lot about the island. If you bring a netbook or laptop, you can use the Wi-Fi for Web access -- no login or password required for the Wi-Fi. Overall I enjoyed staying here a lot.
Ken S., Downers Grove, IL, 1.13.10
The Honu Hale was definately roomy enough for five adults. The beds are comfy and the two bathrooms handy. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'd need. We used the barbecue grill several nights. The house is surrounded by trees so be ready to awake with the birds in the morning. They are loud and beautiful singers, they made me laugh. The location to the beach was just a couple of minutes walk down a lane and across the park. Take a stroll left down the beach to get away from the crowd, it's beautiful. Walk over the hill to Lanakai beach for the snorkelling. I wish we'd have found this out earlier in our trip since Kailua beach is all sand and no coral. Lanakai has both. Walk up the pillbox trail in the morning, it starts by the golf course in Lanakai. Great 360 degree views and so close by. BUZZs Steak House is worth a visit for the salad bar alone. We'd go back in a minute.
Cindy G., Norwood, NY, 1.12.10
We loved our stay at Pikake Hale! The house was perfect for an extended family of 10 people, ages ranging from 2 to 91. Our favorite thing was the proximity to Kailua beach--just a short walk down a beach path and we were there. We also enjoyed preparing and sharing meals together. The kitchen is well equipped and big enough to accommodate a number of people.
Marnie F., Port Townsend, WA, 1.11.10
Excellent location! Beach was perfect. House had everything we needed. Very nice and relaxed stay.
Victor R., Mountain View, CA, 1.10.10
We got personal service when we had trouble hooking up to the internet on our first day. The gentleman came out in person to help. We also loved the kitchen - so well equipped and so much fun to cook in. We loved being so close to the beach - we could hear the waves at night. And, we loved our dinners outside on the wonderful terrace each night. It was truly a magical stay.
Diane S., Boston, MA, 1.5.10
the scenery and view was nice the pool was good for the kids; needs an auomatic pump the beds were old and not comfortable - for all bedrooms! the neighbors were friendly the laundry machine was good
Alex K., Singapore, Singapore, 1.4.10
The property is located in a very nice area and we, especially our kids, very much enjoyed the pool as well as the sea kayak to the beautiful Kailua beach so many times. We will definitely come back!
Maki K., Tokyo, Japan, 1.4.10
Hale O Ke Kai was so great for our varied family. We were ages 75 to 9 so we needed a lot of variety and from the large lawn, to the pool, to the beach, we always had something to do. We particularly loved walking down to the local market and hanging out. President Obama and family were staying just down Kailua Beach so that added a little spice. Ron, the property manager, was awesome, and needs to get a lot of praise. He was so accommodating to our needs. One suggestion for this house would be a better TV situated in an different area of the living room. We could not gather around this TV spot very easily and watch a movie very easily. We loved hearing the waves crashing on the beach at night, and one night, our boys went swimming at 11pm under a full moon magical. We will be back! The Tell Family Saskatchewan, Canada
Karen D., Regina, Saskatchewan, 1.3.10
Holidays at Kailua Ocean Front Hideaway rating = 1.5 stars out of 5 (choices were full stars only, no partial stars). Owners were pleasant and accommodating, but did not fulfill their promise to have the handyman come to install a light bulb. The TV remote control did not provide all functions such as on/off and volume control. The unit was very dusty and we did not find it cleaned upon arrival to our satisfaction. The kitchen cabinets did not close properly and the pans were very old, scratched and in poor condition. We had to request a spatula and kitchen scissors. Dishes were limited in number and did not match. General ambiance had much to be desired. There is a very steep and narrow climb to the front door of the Mountain Side Unit (about 15-20 stairs) that were never mentioned in the online details of the rental. It was like climbing a small mountain everytime we came home. It would be a physical strain for an elderly or ashmatic person to make that hike after a day out and about. Although beach equipment was provided and stored in the garage; they were not clean nor kept in any organized fashion. The bicycle tires were flat, but a foot pump was provided. The key for the lock was missing and we were told by the owner that there is a key, but if it's not in the lock we were out of luck. That meant we couldn't take the bikes to the beach and play. We would expect an attentive rental agent/B&B Mgr to be on top of the amenities provided with the rental to ensure they are clean and in appropriate condition for use by guests. Photos on the web posting for the rental were misleading and we were very disappointed with our choice. For $300/night, it was a ripoff. This unit was worn out and needed serious updating. We would not recommend this unit to any friend. Readers of Trip Advisor and other such sites need to be warned about this place.
Valerie Y., Oakland, CA, 1.3.10
We have always considered Oahu paradise. The Apartment by Kailua Beach (Peter's Place) made our stay "Home Away from Home". The ameneties and the hospitality was wonderful! We hope to stay there again on our future trips!
Kimberly C., Colorado Springs, Colorado, 12.29.09
What I liked best about the unit I rented was that it was clean, modern and quiet. I didn't like much the chairs in the living area as you could slip off easily. Needing such a long password for Internet access was inconvenient. Otherwise, a very lovely stay in Kailua. Mahalo!
Francis J., Seattle, WA, 12.19.09
We loved the location of the house on the beach at Kailua and its ammenities which were wonderful. The owners family is terrific and helpful. We would likely stay there again when we return to Hawaii. We are former residents of Hawaii and think this is one of the best places you can stay.
Philip R., Wilmington, Delaware, 12.10.09
We just love this place! This was our second trip to Kailua Beach House and we hope to be there again soon. The only issues we had was that the twin beds were not very comfortable, the DVD player wasn't working great, and the fridge had some water leaking from it (from ice that was melting at the bottom of the freezer) when we first got there and on Thanksgiving day when the fridge was opened often. We are really hoping the new owners don't up the rent and get it out of our price range... Awesome, awesome place! My 4 year old daughter said to me after being there for 2 nights, "Mom, I just love our new place." I had to break it to her that it wasn't ours and we were just staying there for the week. She said, "that's ok, I still love it!" Thanks a million! - The Beckwiths
Jennifer B., San Marcos, CA, 12.2.09
Hale O Ke Kai was a perfect size for our family of 7. The layout of the house is set up so you can have people in different rooms and not on top of each other the whole time. Very airy and bright. The front lawn is awesome and the beach access was more than we had hoped for. We enjoyed making use of the boogie boards provided to surf on the waves. The pool was pretty chilly as it is not heated and there is not a hot tub as advertised on the web site. The caregiver was very nice and prompt about responding to our questions and needs. We only ate at one restaurant in Kailua, Buzz's. It was very good food and service. We cooked most of our meals at the house. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone and we would rent it again if we ever go to that part of Oahu. It was close enough to Honolulu and the North Shore that we had day trip every day and didn't feel like we were driving forever to get there.
