The surfing is world-class, so guests can take advantage of lessons and the entertainment the sport supplies to spectators. The Polynesian Cultural Center is nearby for a full day or multiple day exploration.

Sunset Beach Park, Kawela Bay, Ehukai Beach Park, Malaekahana State Park, and Waimea Bay are all less than six miles away, options for swimming, snorkeling, picnicking, windsurfing and watching big waves.

Nearby Haleiwa has a multitude of restaurants, for all budgets, in a variety of cuisines and atmospheres. Coffee and breakfast is available throughout the area, but those interested in stocking basic supplies with find grocery stores and convenient stores within a 15 minute-drive. While on the North Shore, take advantage of the plate lunch, shave ice and shrimp trucks.

Art galleries; bakeries; surf, apparel, sports gear shops; jewelry and gift stores are in abundance throughout the North Shore, in addition to a few health and gourmet food stores.
