The unit was clean and only a couple of bugs...normal in the tropics. Quiet, clean, nice pool and good beaches in walking distance. Saw many turtles and humpbacks. Nice to have this unit to cook in to save money on meals. We will make this trip again!

Great accommodations, close to beaches and the best is the quiet county of North Shore Oahu!!!
Loved the shrimp farms and local fruit stands.

The unit was well kept clean, and some gears for the beaches was really nice.
Also there was a lot of beautiful pictures on the wall, and I was interested in how to shoot them.
The only one thing to be considered was the bed is placed at the loft, but the heat was remained even in the night.
The bed itself was really nice (water bed!).

we liked kuilima estates because of the convenience of being able to cook, make coffee, wash our clothes, nice warm showers, and how quiet and peaceful the surroundings were. we liked the convenience of the beach being so close by and the upkeep of the property was very nice. we would stay there again. mr. and mrs. arthur flohr

We were very disappointed with this unit #48. The pics on the website were deceiving, it made the unit look a lot bigger. Also i was told that there was a BBQ but they did not tell me specifically that the BBQ was by the pool. It made it seem like we had our own BBQ in our unit. There was no guestbook or map illustrating where the pools and beaches were. We had to just explore on our own to find out where everything was. A guide would have been helpful. There wasn't enough room for my 2 kids to run around. The property managers Jeri and Mark were rude. I called Jeri on our first morning at 7am not knowing it was a personal number to ask where the hair blow dryer was. She was irritated by my call and spoke very rudely to me even though I had apologized. I didn't realize that hair blow dryers were not included because everything else was there. Then when I had realized that there was only 1 roll of toilet paper, I called Mark to ask if we could get more. He told me that it was not a hotel but a house that we're renting. He talked to me as if i was an idiot which I did not appreciate I've rented plenty of homes both in California and Hawaii before and they have always provided us with hair blow dryers and more than 1 roll of toilet paper. Lastly, I was very diligent in ensuring that the unit was cleaned up properly and followed all guidelines prior to our departure. I even called Mark to inform him of the linking refridgerator and broken ceiling fan in the kitchen to ensure that I wasn't responsible for these things. Before departure I called him again to clarify what we were supposed to do with the bed sheets and towels. One day after our departure, I received a call from Mark saying that we didn't leave the gate key for him. That was untrue!!! I made sure it was on the counter with the house keys and lock box. Now he says he will charge us $50 for the missing gate key. I can guarantee you that we left the gate key on the counter, I'd even bet my life on this. This experience from beginning to end was horrible! I would not recommend anyone to stay in this unit! It sucked! Even my friends who have stayed in the other units in the Kuilima Estates agreed that our place was unusually smaller and that it was lacking in many ways. I really would like to discuss this further with a manager of this agency or with the owner about not charging us for the missing gate key as it was not our fault! Anything could have happened from the day we left to the day Mark went into the unit.

We had a terrific two-week holiday on Oahu. The Kuilima Estates was very nice. The pool was nice and close. The customer service from Hawaaiian Beach Rentals was excellent. We used to live on Oahu, and couldn't imagine spending a vacation on Oahu in a tiny hotel room in Waikiki. So, the unit we rented was very nice. It was great to be able to explore the North Shore, although the frequent drives we took to visit the south shore and Honolulu attractions became a little long.

The unit was nicely decorated. We loved the many surfing pictures on the wall. The bed was comfortable. Generally the unit was clean, but it was in need of some repair. For instance, the grout on the tile floor was very dirty (whoever thought white grout would look good in a "beach unit" was silly), the carpet was somewhat old and smelly, the unpainted baseboards in the bathroom were detachted and the exposed nails posed an injury threat. The place was infested with ants when we arrived, but surprisingly, this seemed to abate a bit during our stay. I know ants and the like are common in Hawaii, but, keeping up with the ant killer is still important

Our two main concerns were: (1) the mosquitos! Some of the bug screens have tears (i.e., the sliding door screen) and we got covered in bites during our first two days. Our daughter got 55 in one night and spent the next 10 days scratching. Once we learned which door/windows to keep closed at night this got a little better. (2) Our main beef, however, was that the kitchen was poorly equipped. There were some nice ceramic plates and bowels, but the cheap plastic stuff was not fun. Some of the cutlery had rust spots on them. There were no hot pads, no grater, no cooking sheet, etc. We have stayed in many vacation rental units and this one, by far, had the most poorly equipped kitchen.

Having said that, we might consider staying again. We did have a wonderful vacation; but the bang for the buck wasn't great with this unit. I probbably wouldn't recommend this unit to a friend.

Thank you,
Michael Blomgren

The unit was very clean and roomy. It was light and airy and private.
The managers of the unit were very friendly and accomodating. They gave us
tips on places to go snorkeling...Three Tables and Sharks Cove were the best.

We also enjoyed the show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. If you are debating
whether to go or not, I would say GO! It was great! Don't wait to start doing things.

We thought Teds bakery was good for lunch. Turtle Bay buffet for breakfast, and Turtle
Bay on Saturday night for prime rib and crab.

Nice beaches, no crowds, great sunsets everywhere. We loved watching the surfers.

The glider airplane ride was exciting with very nice people.

All of us recommend staying at the North Shore end of the island. It was good for
all ages.

I would specificly recommend Kuilima Estates 56 East. Reasonable price for great quality.

My wife and I absolutely loved this place. The kitchen allowed us to cook, the living room had a beautiful view, and the loft was great. It is on the North Shore, where it was slow and quiet. Thanks

The condo was misrepresented in many ways. The manager was uncooperative and short when ask questions or for help. There was 4 lists (containing 25 catagories) of "do nots" posted in the room and charges for them. The worst was a loft bedroom that was very hot and we could not run the AC when we were out of the room. Needless to say when we returned from a hot day in the sun we had to wait 2 hours to use the bedroom. We were part of a family wedding party that spent a week there. I could not have my children or grandchildren come to the room to visit or there would be extra charges. We left a day early and payed for a hotel room just to have some comfort.
