Description

An ideal vacation home for the group looking to enjoy Hawaii as its meant to be. By the Sea is steps from the vanilla powder sands of Lanikai Beach and a short drive from all the major attractions Oahu has to offer. Located in arguably the most exclusive neighborhood on Oahu, come here to relax and recharge. Enjoy Ocean views from the deck, living room and kitchen or take a dip into the pool surrounded by colorful plants and the sounds of native birds.

The home consists of-
Upstairs has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, dining room, living room, access to the pool.
Downstairs is the 3rd bedroom which is ideal for elderly guests as it is on the ground level of the home and has its own separate entrance opening out onto the patio and pool area. The downstairs unit also has it's own living room and large kitchenette.

The home has 3 very comfortable queen beds, and 2 queen futons with spring supported cushions. In this current configuration the home can sleep up to 10 people. Keep in mind that this is a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom home and the futons are in the living rooms.

For the safety of younger children, a pool fence is available upon request. For outdoor activities we provide beach chairs, coolers, beach and recreation guides, Oahu maps, and a thorough guide to restaurants in Kailua. Isn't it time you indulged?

Starting from $500.00 per night. 30% down to hold a reservation. Balance due 60 days before check-in $500.00 security deposit. $300.00 cleaning fee. 4% processing fee. Holiday and peak season rates and required length of stay may be different than quoted above. Credit cards, cash, checks and wire transfers accepted. Minimum night stay varies amongst the various rental units. Many rentals have 30-night minimums.

This was a great house for our group (6 adults and 4 small children)! The proximity to the beach and the pool at the house were fabulous. The house had all the amenities we needed. We would definitelyrecommended this to anyone wanting a place to stay that is close to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!

We rented the whole house.. upstairs and downstairs. The space was large enough for 10 people comfortably. It was close to the beach and close to town. The only problem was that the downstairs kitchen only had a 2 burners for a stove and very little area to prep food... since we had the whole house we used the upstairs kitchen more.

This rental was not in good condition. It was very dirty in the kitchen and had an abundance of bugs including roaches, fleas, and rice beetles in old food stored in the cupboards. The property was advertised as including wi-fi and local phone, but this was not available when we arrived. We contacted the owner on day 3 of our 7 day stay and he showed up immediately to rectify the situation. He seemed like a reasonable owner and was apologetic, however, the condition of the property needs signficant attention.

Comment by Owner/Manager:

As a Vacation Rental owner in Hawaii we are faced with mainlanders that have never seen bugs nor do they know what a Hawaiian style home built in the 50's looks like. This kitchen and home has been kept the same way it has been for years. I'm not one to tell a vacationer that they are lying or wrong but I will go out of my way to look for the discrepancy and fix it. I found zero bugs and I looked everywhere. Granted this is Hawaii, I have no doubt that there were "night" bugs that are attracted to light and whatever bugs roam the earth are present in the exterior and yes, sometimes they do come in but that's what we have extensive pest control in place for. We can, have, and presently minimize bugs in the home but you cannot fully control the situation in Hawaii, it's just not realistic. This is an older home built in the 50's. It's not going to be built like a Chicago Condo but it will have old Hawaiian charm. The complaints were made and rectified as soon as we could possibly do so. In the end, this is the same home that has received 5 stars numerous times before. It's a matter of perspective and appreciation for an older home which happens to be steps away from the most beautiful beach in the world. Future tenants should consider the fact that this is an older home... It's not a cookie cutter home and it's in a lush, green, and tropical environment... aka paradise. And yes, bugs live in Hawaii.
