Hale Moonrise was perfect for our family of seven people. The home was clean and well appointed except for outdoor furniture - only one chaise longue and several plastic chairs. We learned that this home was built for the Royal Family in 1929! So their spirits served us well. The layout gave everyone his or her own space while providing wonderful areas to be together. Of course, the view of the Mokalua Islands was outstanding! Julie provided great service on the day we moved in. We were able to snorkle out in the reef and swim with Honu (turtles) as well as rent kayaks and paddle to the island. rnHonestly, there is one major problem with the location of this property. Unfortunately, it is situated next to a public beach access.("Management Notes": all beaches in Hawaii are public and there are many access points provided by the state, where this might create more traffic it is a wonderful opportunity to meet local families and experience our Aloha.") Regarding furniture, it is planned to be updated in Summer 2008." Our best insider tip would be to snorkel at "Shark's Cove" on the North Shore - OUTSTANDING! Also, go to Chai's Island Bistro in the Aloha Tower (Waikiki side) to have a yummy dinner and listen to the best local Hawaiian music. rnAloha! rn

First, there is no way to adequately describe the beautiful view from Hale Moonrise. Your vista is the ocean and two mountaintops rising in the turquoise water. I could have spent the entire week watching the sea. Next, there was no problem with pests or rodents. I had been worried about that since older comments from guests had mentioned pests and rodents. That was not a problem and everything was clean. rnThe house is ideal for family gathering. We lived in the kitchen/den room surrounded by windows & ocean views on three sides. I don't think we ever sat in the living room which has a grand view too. The updated kitchen was easy to work in and well equipped.
The Hale Moonrise was an excellent property for our vacation. We shared the house with another family and with four adults and four children, there was plenty of private space in the house if needed. The children were totally entertained by the activities available, from Bachi ball, snorkeling, kayaking to the "Mokes", and the Ping Pong table was always in use. We would certainly rent this house again as the perfect location for the family vacation. Besides the house, Lanikai is the best and being so far to the end of the neighborhood was so peaceful and quiet. The management people you use, Two Wahines on the Beach, are excellent. Julie was timely, efficient, friendly, and very informative. Mahalo for helping us have one of the most memorable vacations in years.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hale Moonrise. The only problem was that we never wanted to leave the house. What a view!
We enjoyed the location of the house & the small beach next to it for street access. limited outdoor furniture, only 1 chaise, the kitchen was updated and very nice.
The beach and view are to die for. House is very comfortable, very spacious. This is a great beachhouse for a family.
I would like to thank all of you for a great vacation that we had. The Hale Moonrise was an absolute beautiful place to spend our time. The morning sun rise was beautiful, as the evening breeze was very comforting. The sad part of such a great experience, was we had to return home. We all want to say thanks for letting us enjoy your beautiful Island. We promise, we WILL return, as we didnt get to do all we wanted.We also hope we will be allowed to stay at Hale Moonrise again, as it made for many many great memorey"s.Again thanks for making a great vacation for all of us.So until we may meet again, Aloha

We had a great vacation. Lots of laughs, sand and sun. Your is the perfect beach house for families with children. We could have asked for a better spot. Would be helpful if small labels indicated switches for various lights. Because we have family with a place on Mokalua, we knew about garbage pickup for Friday and Tuesday but you may want to include that in your welcome book. Overall we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more.
A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION ONLY A USBINTERNET CONNECTION WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT IDEA. ("Managers Note" the property now has high speed internet.") ALSO I WOULD HAVE ENJOYED AIR CONDITIONING. I WOULD RECOMMEND HAWAIAN BEACH RENTALS TO ALL

Our guests who used this facility were pleased with their stay. We appreciated the newly renovated bathrooms and kitchen. The two twin bedrooms could use larger pedestal-type fans. Air circulation was poor in those rooms. ("Managers Notes": fans are available for guest use.") Guests should be advised that there is adequate parking by the side of the road adjacent to the property.
The location of the Hale Moonrise is spectacular. I particularly enjoyed working with your company and I would happily rent from you again.
