I had purchased a self guided CD tour of Oahu and we split our drive around the island into a couple days so it wasn't tiring. Dole plantation, Pearl Harbor, Waikiki, Blowhole, Hanaumu Bay, Chinaman's Hat, a Luau @ Paradise Cove and the North Shore Shave Ice. We saw them all but at our own pace and not on a travel bus. We could cut the day short and go back and relax. Kailua Beach Park and Lanikai Beach were alot of fun and amazingly not very crowded. We did need to watch out for jellyfish but they were dark blue so easy enough to spot.
One issue with the house was a loud wailing sound during the night at either one of the 2 back bedrooms. We had a couple sleepless nights but when my son-in-law came over on the weekend he found it was some kind of seabirds that would walk under the window and make all kinds of noise. Never saw them during the day but if you hear a very loud howling it is just a bird under the window. Pool and Lawn people were very friendly and the Pool maintenance man shared alot of information about the area.
Would like to get to the Polynesian Cultural Center next time and maybe take some paddling lessons.
