The Pua Iki was a perfect location for several people. The proximity of the beautiful beach was a definite plus. The property was extremely clean and well kept, The only thing that we would like to comment on is that there is no place to sit at the beach front during high tide. A small place near the pathway to accommodate several chairs would be ideal. A lattice screen with landscaping could separate it from the front lawn of the large house. ('Managers Note: Pua Iki is part of a larger estate and is privately situated from the main house and there is a pathway provided for beach access. Beach chairs are provided and can be taken to the near by (less than one block away) beautiful sandy Lanikai beach.")
within a block from the beach, fully equip for any outing towels , mats , coolers and ect. good cooking fac. and washer and dryer on premises. will vist again when in the islands
This was a great place to stay. We had everything we needed plus we were just a block from one of the best beaches on the Island. Will stay here again next time were in Hawaii. Mahalo!
This house exceeded all of our expectations. Every single detail was so well-planned and perfect...we had absolutely everything we needed. Every suite (including the precious cottage) was just lovely - comfortable, elegant and truly hawaiian feeling. The great room was ideal for our family gathering, and the open-air feeling of the entire house made spending time indoors so pleasant. Now we just need to find another occassion to return! Thank you so much.
Our stay was fantastic, even better than what we expected. The house is wonderful, the beach in front is perfect for our 4 year olds for swimming and a walk, and the pool is beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing. Look forward to returning.
We loved our stay at Pua O Lanikai, extending another 3 days whilst there to enjoy it further. It definitely has the best location on Lanikai beach front that provides a good amount of sand and privacy (the majority of the tourists staying in other areas who visit Lanikai beach stop a few houses short of Pua O Lanikai). Pool is great, sunrise views incredible and the house is well set out. Very relaxing to sit out any time of the day to watch the views. Highly recommend you go to Roys Restaurant (about 20 mins drive on the 72 towards Honululu) - fantastic food, views & service & Lucy's in Lanikai. Hawaiian Beach Rentals are also very good to deal with. Hope you enjoy
Right on the water...very well equipped. Perfect little hideway to get quiet time in a beaufitful spot.
Great apartment. Nicely furnished. Location couldn't be better! If you really like to cook, look into the "by the sea home" which is upstairs and has a better kitchen. Otherwise, the apartment is perfect.

Well equiped and comfortable home. Unbeatable view. Very comfortable bedding. Enclosed yard is excellent for kids. Two refridgerators! Direct ocean access is only possible during low-tide and then it is still a bit rocky. We did not mind the short walk to a sandy portion of beach when the tide was high. Gas grill was very nice. Enclosed garage was also a plus. Upon arrival, we read the property literature and discovered some great options/ammenities that could have been arranged ahead of time. We wish these options were made know to us during the booking. (Private Chef, Cable Modem, etc.)Over-all a very pleasant stay.

A lovely family gathering place. Very comfortable, with everything that we needed.
I thought the house was lacking in general upkeep. The railing on the lanai had several rotted posts. Our 2 yr old grandson found them all. He was not injured, thankfully. The plastic sheeting on the beds was awful. Just rolling over in bed became a very loud event, quite disturbing. I did like the ease of renting thru Hawaiian Beach Rentals, but we will NOT be returning to this particular house. Have rented much better homes for $75/night cheaper. Janine
The house is fabulous and has a breathtaking view. A big plus was having 5 bedrooms with baths in all of the rooms. Each bedroom has a TV and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped and the house was well stocked with extra towels. A few more lounge chairs by the pool would have been nice. I would also recommend stocking the house with some beach toys for kids since a beach is within walking distance.
This little house was perfect for our needs. The view is spectacular, and the house accommodated us with lots of privacy for every one. We came to celebrate our daughter's wedding, most family members stayed in Waikiki, but we wanted a home away from home and so we found this little home, which was just perfect for us to hide out for some very needed R & R among the hustle and bustle of a wedding. The house was absolutely wonderful. Simple (yet elegant) Hawaiian decor and stunning view. Loved that the pool was heated... couldn't have been more ideal for our young family with three active boys. The stove top is electric, and we found it very difficult not to burn most things we cooked. If it weren't for these two things, I would definitely rate this house a 5. ("Manager Note: this home has a well equipped kitchen and a gas BBQ is available if cooking with eclectic is not favorable.")
Property was beautiful!!!! I would also like to send a special thank you to Peg Carey. We tried Lucy's per Peg's recommendation and we loved it. In fact my husband and I are still commenting on how good it was. Thanks a bunch Hawaiian Beach Rentals.
Overall - very good. maintenance items include: 1. fluro. light above kitchen sink needs new bulb. 2. clothes iron(s) need to be replaced. 3. dishwashing machine needs to be replaced. 4. control switches in master bedroom don't appear to acivate anything. 5. kitchen floor needs a thorough scrubbing. 6. toilet tank in first floor half-bath needs new plumbing, water runs continuously. 7. 2nd floor, 2nd bedroom needs ceiling fan.8. 2nd floor bathroom needs a larger exhaust fan (heat and moisture removal). We enjoyed the pool and spa and the ample furniture for the living room and deck.
Our guests who used this facility were pleased with their stay. We appreciated the newly renovated bathrooms and kitchen. The two twin bedrooms could use larger pedestal-type fans. Air circulation was poor in those rooms. ("Managers Notes": fans are available for guest use.") Guests should be advised that there is adequate parking by the side of the road adjacent to the property.

The hosts were wonderful and gracious. The decor and location was excellent. The rating would have been 5 stars if the unit had been better equipped. E.g., it needs at least some type of oven, more cooking/serving pieces, and ideally a small dishwasher.
The location of the Hale Moonrise is spectacular. I particularly enjoyed working with your company and I would happily rent from you again.
Hi, We really enjoyed our time in Lanikai, and an added bonus to be next door to our friends, owners of By the Sea. Here's a few suggestions about the apartment - think these items should be taken into consideration at the price point you are renting: (1) please stock with toilet paper, there was 1.5 rolls so we bought a 6-pack. (2) check the light bulbs or leave extras as we bought one for a bedside lamp. (3) check the alarm clock if it's working, we bought a battery for it because it was empty, so leave extras. (4) we borrowed a fan and a hair dryer from next door, as well as two cereal bowls - better to have those in place already. (5) kitchen needs one larger skillet and a second cooking knife (there was one serated only) - in general, kitchen needs a once-over for supplies - pretty meager). (6) could not find a broom and/or dust bin - that would be useful to sweep sand and sweep the lanai, which needed it from the beginning. (7) found kitchen items not to be very clean upon arriva

We really enjoyed our stay at By The Sea View. It was our 5th trip to Hawaii, but the stay at Lanikai was by far the best!! We particularly enjoyed dinner at Lanai under hundreds of stars and with gentle breeze from the sea. We will definitely come back in the near future and our destination will be Lanikai!! 1. My husband's name is Joseph -- not David -- McLaughlin. 2. The plate glass windows in dining room & back bedroom on the main floor should be partially replaced with louvers or screens to allow for air circulation, the back bedroom was very hot. 3. The back bathroom needs to have more opaque curtains for privacy. 4. There should be more bathmats -- we could find only one. 5. The top of the front door screen upstairs does not fit the door frame fully, which attracted insects and moths when the porch light was turned on. 6. There should be a ceiling fan in the upstairs living room as well as in the back bedroom, since there is no central air conditioning. 7. The mattresses must have been covered with plastic sheeting, because they were very hot to lie on. Without air conditioning, this made sleeping very uncomfortable. By and large, this was a comfortable rental unit. The above criticisms are not in any order of importance, and did not detract from our enjoyment. T
Hi Peg, I think Happy Hale is in a great location, but the house had a rental feeling about it. The upstairs bathroom was somewhat moldy and didnt smell great. One of the kids slept in the single bed and she said it smelled moldy. The floors in the kitchen got so dirty, we did not have a broom so I did not want to walk around bare footed. I think with a house that gets that much traffic, maybe you should have a light cleaning of the bathrooms and floors midweek, since we paid so much for the cleaning. We ran out of paper towels and there was not enough kitchen towels. I don't know if Bob told you that we had a leak in the kitchen during the rain. Rozelyn Naliboff
The most beautiful sunrises i have ever seen! It is so wonderful to be able to enjoy the warm ocean by day and the pool by night. Our family made some great memories at Pua O Lanikai.

We can't say enough good things about this rental. The house is very nice...but the location is unbeatable. The landscape had been cut back some ocean-side and it really opened up the view.
