Location! Right across from the Polynesian Cultural Center, but also on a private beach (you can almost hear the waves from the bungalow). The owner lives next door and is incredibly friendly and helpful. He personally installed the 2-person shower which is the highlight of the room. The room is slightly awkwardly designed furniture-wise- a pullout bed is pretty useless for a couple and there is a big empty space in the middle of the floor. The biggest down side for the place is the rooster next door that wakes you up at 5:30am.

Thanks for your thoughts on the floor design. The floor space is designed to be flexible to allow the dining table to be moved to the middle of the floor for guest up to 4. Our cultural surroundings in Oahu can be appreciated and annoying to some. The Coco's powerful a/c unit can overcome the morning crows which only last about 30 minutes.
We liked the location of the bungalow the most, we shared the beach only with a monk seal!!! We could go swimming at our beach every morning even if the North Shore Waves had been huge a couple miles further north. The bungalow is equipped with a full kitchen, but for lunch we would recommend the shrimps up the street. They are so yummie!!

Thanks for sharing your dining adventure and monk seal sunbathing on our own beach. They are on the endangered species list. Fun fact: called monk seals due to being loners most of the time.
The unit was very neet, and clean. Nicer than I expected...Raymond was patient and helpful on phone when we arrived. I would love to return, we wish we had booked more of our days there. The only disapointment was that by unit discription I thought unit was on Ocean, by statement "Facing Ocean" , it does but there is a 2 story house in front of it: however, the shutters on door could be opened to veiw ocean from bed, but you can not see ocean from any other windows. There are a bunch of chickens next property over, very noisey for 2 hours before and at sunrise.

The 3 story house is to the left side of the property still leaving Coco guests with the a great view of the ocean from the studio and lanai.
The unit was decorated nicely and was cozy. We liked the proximity to the beach. The only issues we had were there wasn't enough counter space in the bathroom. The bathroom needed a door. A door serves quite a few purposes, especially when the kitchen and table are set up directly outside the door. I was also disappointed in the kitchenware. Several times I needed a large bowl and there wasn't one. We were asked to turn off the A/C when we left which resulted in extremely warm room when we got back. There weren't any back windows so it was hard to get a good cross breeze to vent the place. I was glad to find an iron and blow dryer, unfortunately when I called to see if they were there I was told they weren't so I ended up packing them and hadn't needed to. As I told Laurel, we weren't given many towels and only two washcloths and although I could have asked for more I was not comfortable doing so. Perhaps I expect too much as I am also a condo owner and am expected to furnish every little thing to our renters. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but probably would not stay there again.

A door to the bathroom has been added for more privacy. The A/C is very powerful and able to cool down the unit upon return. We are also trying to be green and not waste electricity.
The only reason for 4, not 5 stars was that you need to bring your own shampoo/lotion/coffee... :) Everything was beautiful!!

We now have shampoos and soap made here in Hawaii for our guests
OK, We agree with most of the previous comments, nice walk on the beach at sunrise, walk to the Polynesian Cultural Center and save $5 parking, well appointed except there was no place to put clothes so you live out of your suitcase. How come no one mentioned the 100+ chickens and roosters next door. Yes they are quiet for a few hours in the evening but they start in at 3:00 in the morning. The first night we had everything open and the breeze was great, but when the chickens started in at 3:00 in the morning, we had to close everything up and turn on the A/C. So much for listening to the ocean sounds. I'm sorry, but the chicken farm is a deal breaker for us. I will not recommend this place until the chicken farm is gone. Jim & Connie Rockford, IL

We can't wait to tell our friends about the Coconut Bungalow. The place is in a super location and is very comfortable and well appointed. The folks are friendly and very helpful. Our favorite thing was the early morning beach walks. We shall return.

I loved the fact that I could walk out every morning and watch the sun rise. Raymond was great even though I didnt see him too much cause we were so busy. The best part of my trip was the whole thing. The best pictures we got were at the Paradise Cove at the luau. It was amazing. The best advise I can give is to plan all your activites you want to do ahead of time so you dont miss a thing. Thanks guys!!

It was very nice inside. Its like 100 feet from the ocean front. The owner Ray was Awesome though good guy, He will help you with anything. Its a good place to just stay and chill and look at the view. There is a lot of rock right there on the beach. Right across from Polanesian Center. That was good. 10 minutes from turtle bay resort. Thanks. Stegen Phillips, Paul, Idaho

This was a perfect location to visit the Polynesian Cultural Center and to get away from the city life in Waikiki. We love staying on this side of the island. The studio was clean and up to date. We really enjoyed the gardens and being right on the beach. It was beautiful.

Our hosts, Maria and Raymond were amazing and went out of their way to help us have a great time in Hawaii. The studio was equipped with everything you could possibly need to be comfortable. We look forward to visiting again!

The studio and facilities were absolutely fine and as expected for that kind of budget. The house owners on sight were really friendly and helpful. My only moan is that the pictures on the website do not reflect exactly where the studio is located .. the website implied that the studio was right on the beach (which is why we chose this studio rather than other vacation homes) however it is at the back of the owners house and you do not have a private outside area. Apart from that it was lovely.

There is now a private patio facing the ocean.
Hi Jade,rnFirstly the owners were great, I really think the studio is not yet ready for rental, the kitchen was incomplete, the hot water cylinder is very old and just warming the water, the refrigerator is noisy, there needs to be a locking screen door for breeze at night, and an awning over door to allow door to be left open at night in wet weather as there is no breeze from any other direction. Also a clothes line is needed. we mentioned most of this to the owners as they want make it right

There is a locking screen door and the unit has been meticulously remodeled.
