We had a fabulous stay at the Aloha Beach House!! The property is cutely adorned, and very comfortable. It is decorated so well, and really makes you feel the aloha spirit from the minute you pull in the driveway. The kitchen was stocked very well for a beach rental. It's not often you find all clad pans and every possible kitchen utensil you can think of. We enjoyed the lanai off the bedroom for our morning coffee and a dinner or two. The place really is wonderful. The only downside is the road noise, as the house is right on the Kam highway; but after a night or two it was hardly noticeable. The property manager Mark was wonderful, and very helpful to us. It was difficult to leave, but I hope to return sometime in the future.
Elizabeth J., Norfolk, VA, 1.28.12
We really enjoyed our stay, the pool area was nice and sunny and the full kitchen was awesome. The only suggestion I would make is to include a detailed map of the condo development in the entry instructions. We arrived very late at night and had to park outside the gate while I walked around trying to find our unit to access the keys in the lock box. Hard to find the right unit number in the dark !! Other then that, our visit was wonderful. Would recommend other guests try the burgers at the Kahuku Grill and check out the market in the old Wailalua sugar mill.
Thanks !
Colleen P., Edmonton, AB, 1.18.12
What I liked best about the unit I rented was The location The customer service I received was Better than average. Agent was very helpful helping me find a place The best part of my trip was the food! The best restaurant I found was Too many to list, but the burger at Haleiwa Joes's was amazing The best picture I took was of myself (us) at North Shore, about 5:00pm with the huge waves crashing in behind us I can't wait to tell all my friends that We all need to plan a trip and go back together My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be Go to the grocery store after you leave the airport, headed to the unit The part of my trip I would definitely recommend to others is The best "insider tip" I received while on my trip was I didn't have time this trip, but next trip I'm looking forward to
Mahsa F., Sacramento, CA, 1.9.12
The Bamboo Hale II is superb. Ray was super friendly and helpful! This was our second trip to the TikiMoonVillas, and it was better than the first. Highly recommended.
Stephen S., Lakewood, OH, 1.2.12
What I liked best about the unit I rented was the privacy our family enjoyed. We loved the North Shore area, it's laid back and casual. We were able to drive to many spots on the island and return to peacefulness every night. The beach equipment provided (snorkel gear, beach towels, and beach chairs) was really great to have at our disposal. Thanks Papaya Hale II !
Patricia G., Longview, TX, 12.24.11
The rental unit was not as nice as I expected. There were some problems that need repair. The view of the ocean was beautiful. It made for some very nice pictures. The unit had ants and roaches which I think are common in tropical areas but the ants were so bad I bought ant traps to kill them. The unit was stocked very well with beach towels and snorkeling equipment and surf and boogie boards too. There was a kitchen chair that was broken. The screen to the lanai was off the track. The mattress was not good and we woke up every day with back aches. One of the towel bars fell down when I was hanging up a towel on it. The kitchen faucet was broken. The refrigerator had some problem where it was leaking water on the first shelf and the meat holder. The television had some problem when it warmed up it turned black around the edges. One day it was so bad you couldn't see anything except for the very middle of the screen. There were movies to choose from, books to read and it was nicely decorated. However I think a little bit of money needs to be spend to replace the mattresses, screen door, faucet, and refrigerator. With a little bit of money put into the unit it could be much better. I would not recommend this unit to a friend in its current condition.
Betty C., Beavercreek, OH, 12.18.11
We loved the location, peaceful atmosphere and all the amentities that came with the place. It was just like it was described and was a great place to see the surf. The only problem was the TV didn't work with DVD players. We would love to come back and stay again next year!!!
Katherine H., Honolulu, HI, 12.11.11
What I liked best was the beach was right out the back door! The owners were great, kind and helpful I chose this location because I thought it was a single house, however the owners live upstairs and my husband does not like to hear people walking and making noise over his head. Also didnt realize there were roosters next door that would wake us up at 5 am Enjoyed Pearl Harbor, Waimia botanical garden, Turtle Bay was very nice. The North Shore is the place to be if you don't like the hustle and bustle of the city Overall had a good week

Jeri P., Herriman, UT, 12.1.11
Too windy and rainy fo us. We went and stayed in Makaha area with friends. Left two days early. had friends come over from the Big Island and the hide-a-bed was terrible. We actually liked the unit itself for 2people. Gail and Mark.
Gail R., Tualatin, OR, 11.21.11
The thing I liked best about this rental was Mark's attentiveness, and customer service. He was great. Especially where we made our decision to come at the last minute, Mark's help was very much appreciated. (Just one recommendation regarding communicating the location of Pat's place. As we came in at night, and addresses were not easily seen by car light, it would have been very helpful to have a more detailed description of the complex and what to look for. I seem to recall that I had to ask several times for directions as to where Pat's place was located. For example, in your communication you could have just said, that it was 4 miles south of the Polynesian Cultural Center and that it is the only 8 story condo complex at this location on the east shore. Just that simple added input, would have made it so much simpler to find.) The unit itself, was just okay. I had problems with the DVD player and the TV as well, which was frustrating. I couldn't really get the DVD player to work properly. The drapes in the living room were dangling from the rod, missing some rod hooks, which made it look tacky. The screen door on the same window would regularly come off the track and I had to reposition it often. You were right that when we opened the slider and side windows and then left the front door ajar, we got a regular breeze through the unit at night, which was great. It would have been helpful to know that the unit had snorkeling equipment there for use, as I went out and bought my own, and it would have been so much easier to have just been able to know that some was there, and available. The window in the bedroom looks out on the landing where there is a light burning 24 hours a day, and so it made that bedroom very light at night, which was disturbing. We had to rig up some sort of black out shade there to be able to sleep. Having a black out sheet(just a piece of black cloth, that could be hung up at night would be helpful, or installing a mini blind that could be closed at night, even better.) would have been very much appreciated. I had problems with the fan speed in the living room. It seemed to only have one speed(slow) and off. We loved being on the beach, and I used that access almost every day. The snorkeling was okay, not spectacular. With the rainy weather that we had last week, I'm sure that contributed to the quality of the water experience, as the ocean was choppy and a little murky. I found the need to use the keyfob to access the unit and elevator at every turn somewhat frustrating, but I know that is something you have no control over. We enjoyed our stay, and would consider returning again, if the price was right. Thanks for helping us enjoy our vacation.
Lynn A. Z., Arvada, CO, 11.7.11
Location was great, shower handle was broken, from blinds were broken, no barbeque that was suppose to be there and not one comfortable place to sit in the entire house.
Kimberly J., Corona, CA, 11.3.11
We found the accommodation absolutely beautiful, it was very close to a beautiful bay. We found the accommodation very homely easy to settle in. The best restaurant we found was in Waikiki the Tiki Bar in one word Awesome.....
One of the downfalls and it was more in planning on our part is it is an hours drive to/from Waikiki/ Honolulu. . the space was fantastic for the 4 adults and two children but with little children i would recommend a security gate for the stairs. absolutely would stay there again. Very easy, service was excellent.
Tobia M., Ormeau, , 10.28.11
Right on the beach and views were amazing! It was quite and relaxing! Customer service was good. Best part of our trip was visiting a Hawaii ranch. The Crouching Lion Restaurant was amazing food and great prices! BEST pictures was of us newlyweds down at the beach in front of the condo. I will definitely recommend this rental to other newlyweds in the future!!!! Next trip we would like to go snorkling and to a waterfall on the island and the culture center. Loved the stay!!!
Kaci N., Burwell, NB, 10.15.11
My stay was great. The view from the balcony is amazing, and the beach is easily accessible. The condo was clean and very comfortable to live in. The area was very quiet compared to the Waikiki area where most of the tourists stay. Thank you!
Jason C., San Jose, CA, 9.28.11
It is centrally located from practically all the beautiful beaches on the eastern side of Oahu. Forget about Waikiki, it is too crowded and commercialized, and hard to find a parking spot.
Since this cottage was just across the Polynesian Cultural Center, you can have as much as 20% savings each person when you buy your ticket in the morning and tell the agent that you would just walk over about an hour before the LUAU and show package later that day.
The owner of the place is so nice and friendly.
Lou P., Des Plaines, IL, 9.26.11
The unit was clean. We loved going to sleep to the sound of the ocean and waking with the sunrise. Boots and Kimos for breakfast in Kailua. Kahuku Grill for lunch or dinner...fantastic!!!! Surfin Tacos in Hauula!!! Thanks for providing the boogie boards.... very fun! We loved our stay!
Linda E., Norwell, MA, 9.13.11
The location is great, right on the beach. It was easy to book and the price was right. A good restaurant is Lei Lei @ Turtle Beach Golf Club. The food was awesome. This is a quiet location beautiful location, where the locals live. Met quite a few friendly people. The bedroom is quite noisy due to being on the road and parking lot, sleep on the futon in the living room.
Jacque C., Henderson, NV, 9.12.11
What I liked best about the unit I rented was the space for our extended family, especially the two bathrooms. Critical with two teenage girls.
The best part of my trip was the daily memories that we made as a family. The fireworks cruise on the Makani and kissing and dancing with dolphins at Sea Life Park were just two of the awsome activities.
My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be to believe what you hear about traffic into the southern areas of the island. It is going to take some time if you travel in the morning.
We ate in most meals but did make it to shaved ice at Masamoto's (spelling?) three times. Big hit with all of us.
Giovanni's shrimp was also incredible.
Janet K., Milwaukie, OR, 8.31.11
excellent location. property is fine, but is showing its age. really loved the North Shore. mahalo Brumby family
Steven B., Santa Fe, NM, 8.14.11
All the reviews and descriptions written for this condo are honest and accurate. What a relief! The pictures of the sandy beach, coral reef, beautiful sunrises are all what you will see. Even the stories of the turtles drifting by are true! The balcony offers an amazing panoramic view of the sea. Read as many of the reviews as possible and you will get the full story. This condo really is a jewel. The kitchen is wonderfully outfitted. The appliances are new and perfect. The bedding and towels are very nice. The bathroom is also as described and nicely appointed. Everything in this condo functions very well. The best word to describe the condition of this unit was "SPOTLESS!!!" I am pretty picky and I was satisfied. The condo comes furnished with everything advertised. Beach towels, chairs, coolers, snorkel and fins, boogie boards, etc. You are set up for a great time. The North Shore has the most beautiful beaches on Oahu. We enjoyed all the local restaurants from the simple Shrimp truck at Chings Market up to a couple of upscale fancy ones at the Turtle Bay Resort. The Fish Taco place next to Tamara's market was also a favorite for some take out. Tamara's is a small friendly market that has most everything you will need, including adult beverages! Foodland is a little further north and is a little more "Urban". Before you read list last paragraph about the "so-so" characteristics of this condo, I would definitely recommend this place to friends as well as stay here again. There are only three things that kept me from giving a full 5 stars. The building looks a little shabby from the highway. I was a bit unsure of my choice as we parked the car and headed to the secure elevators. You feel better as soon as you get to the 7th floor and totally relieved once you enter the "Jewel". You also get a slight whiff of septic gas or something while in the parking lot. There is some kind of transfer pump station between the front of the building and highway. It's not horrible, but it is noticeable when you walk to your car. You in NO WAY sense anything in the condo. The last thing to complain about is road noise from the highway while in the bedroom. There is a wonderful breeze blowing all the time so you will want the window open, but you will also hear every vehicle passing up and down the highway. You will be better off sleeping in the living room so you can enjoy the breezes as well as the sunrise!
Alan E., Washington Twp, Michigan, 8.11.11
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations and the view at the Blue Water Lagoon. The nearby beach was also very much enjoyed by many of us. We would and hope to do it all again. I would especially like to thank Denise in your office as she provided excellent and much appreciated customer service at the last moment. Thanks again.
DuAnne S., Lynnwood, WA, 7.27.11
Nice unit with everything, but the location is the real star here. The North Shore is a real paradise, and not only for surfers. The condo is ok, but the building could use a makeover, hence the missing star.
Karina V., Sherbrooke, Qubec,Canada, 7.26.11
My Family of 8 ranging in age from 6 months to 54 found this property, which has MUCH 'Aloha Karma' resonating throughout, to WAY EXCEED our EXPECTATIONS for comfort and usability. The ONLINE photos tend to 'downplay' the size of the more than comfortable house and yard areas....everyone in my party said "When I come back to Hawaii; I'm staying right HERE!" We were on Oahu for a Family wedding and while several other families had very nice beach houses on the NORTH SHORE, everyone was envious of our spot and particularly the 'natural beach amenities' as the house is particularly situated to enjoy one of the better beachfronts with a natural reef in front of it that provides extra good snorkeling, surfing, and calmer wading areas for the little ones. Beach toys included! The well equipped kitchen (in a week's worth of cooking we couldn't come up with one gadget and/or appliance that WASN'T right there for us !) and incredibly diverse and plentiful selection of books,DVDs,& VCR tapes made our indoor time easy and entertaining. Personally, I hated to leave the house!!.....but IF you need to, my 'pick' below....... Plenty to do on the North Shore or around the island. Took my 2 year old Grandson and my Daughter-in-Law to Sea Life Park on the Southeast side of Honolulu which is a beautiful drive to get there, children friendly, and such a beautiful setting it brought tears to my Daughter-In-Laws eyes and spontaneous clapping from the two year old. Having been to Hawaii 2 other times previously, I was not prepared to be WOWED a 3rd time....but I was wrong :)
Linda C., Venice, FL, 7.25.11
Best things about Lani Loa 3 included the panoramic view and proximity of the ocean, the size of the kitchen/dining/living areas, all the lanai space and hot tub. We especially enjoyed swimming and boogie boarding at the beach on the far north end of Malaekahana Bay State Park which was a 4 minute drive from the house.
Barbara C., Lafayette, IN, 7.16.11
1. close to the beach. 2.good 3. walks along the beach 4. Buzz's restaurant etc
Alexander N., Sydney, , 6.24.11
The best part was the beautiful views of the bay, close local shopping and access to the Laie Vistors Center and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Also I broke the back of a plastic chair which I set against the back wall. Please take the cost out of the deposit. Also we contributed a new boogie board to the collection. It was a wondeful no hassle vacation. Thanks for everything, Rick
Rick C., Ogden, Utah, 6.23.11
We had a great time in our Ocean Breeze beachfront unit. It was the bottom air conditioned remodeled unit in the back house. The layout was a little weird, where the vanities were in the bedroom to the left of the bed and the toilet was right next to the shower with no door to divide the space. However, overall, we would have to say that for the price we paid for such a prime beachfront location, it was worth it. The Polynesian Cultural Center is literally right across the street, but because we visited the center on our last visit, we didn't visit it this time around. We had an exciting trip where we spent the entire day out each day around the island and visited waikiki each night. You can't beat topping off each night with a beer on the patio right in front of the ocean! Here are a few attractions we suggest: Makapuu Lookout (overlooks Waimanalo Bay) Makapuu Point (a paved hiking path next to Makapuu lookout with a lighthouse at the end) Manoa Falls (hike the rainforest in Honolulu-behind Univ of Hawaii) Kualoa Ranch (go on a 1or2 hour ATV tour!) Snorkeling at Shark's Cove in the North Shore Visit sea turtles at Haleiwa beach...trek east along the volcanic rock beach for .5-1 mile. Couples' oceanside massage at Turtle Bay Resort Pali Lookout Paradise Cove Luau Basking in the sun on Sandy Beach near Waimanalo Bay Good eats: Papa Ole (delicious mac salad and spicy fried chicken) Hukilau (on Man vs. Food!) and best of all it's just down the street. Super affordable breakfast, but cash only! Helena's (it was on Travel Channel and possible other food channels. Located in Honolulu) Super affordable, but cash only! Giovannis' or Romy's shrimp truck. Boots N' Kimos (awesome mac nut pancakes in Kailua)...Cash only... Waiolas Shaved Ice (in Honolulu). I didn't make it to Matsumotos, but everyone says it's a MUST. Side Street Inn (good late night food in Waikiki...pork chops!) Puka Dog (yummy garlic sauce over hot dogs in Waikiki) North Shore Markets: Foodland and Tamara
Amy C., Los Angeles, CA, 5.28.11
This is a great little place to stay. Not really big enough for 4 people, although there would be enough room to sleep, it is quite small and is a good size for two. The place was super clean, and provides beach towels, snorkels, and even a picnic cooler and ice packs which came in very handy. The best grocery shopping is up near sunset beach. Not much in the way of restaurants near this condo, so we bought some fish and fresh vegies and enjoyed some quiet dinners at home. The beach is fantastic; perfectly quiet and the water is great! Beach is almost non-existent at high tide, but the property is wide enough behind the beach, to still be able to lounge and enjoy the view of the ocean.
Elise B., Baie d'urfe, Quebec, 5.24.11
The staff was outstanding and very accommodating! VERY peaceful location with all the amenities you could wish for.
RHONDA F., FALLBROOK, CA, 5.24.11
What I liked best about the unit we rented was that you felt like you were at home. Lots of room not cramped in. The bathroom was small that was the only disappointment because it was listed as a full size bathroom and it was 3/4. Yes the roosters did take some getting used to. We would highly recommend this to all our families and friends. We plan on coming back and renting it again.... Den and Lealon
Lealon A., Golconda, NV, 5.23.11
Lovely clean home, felt at ease and very comfortable! Great kitchen with all the tools supplied. The main road is quite busy so loud at night. Loved the morning visitor... a seal rock bathing every day!
Verity N., Melbourne, Victoria, 5.14.11
The view was awesome, loved being right on the beach. Customer service fine. The bedroom in our unit was extremely small and the traffic noise from the highway was annoying since we didn't have a fan to mask it. The rest of the condo was cozy.
Jeff and Maryeve L., Chehalis, WA, 5.11.11
The view was great, it was the best part of the condo. Customer service was fine. Ted's Bakery was wonderful, breakfast and dinner. We spent all of our time at Waiema bay, swimming. North Shore's FoodLand was the best for food, La'ie no beer or wine at that FoodLand. My advice for someone staying at the condo is it's not the Ritz Carlton but it's comfortable clean and quiet. We slept on the futon because the morning view and nightly sounds of the ocean were breathtaking. Best tip for the island....2 cooler min.
Delaney E., Tualatin, OR, 5.1.11
I liked the area and the way the rental was set up. i think it should be updated in the tv area, i was In Hawaii for surgery and it wasnt ideal for recovery but im sure that others would agree that the TV needed to be be updated and the pull out couch that I slept on was thin and didnt feel all that great on my back. other than those two minor things this was a great deal and i would definatly stay at the condo again!!! it was perfect location, and sat right in a nice quiet neighborhood, i absolutly loved it over staying at a hotel!!
James O., Solomon, Kansas, 4.25.11
We recently stayed at the Bamboo Hale II for two nights. Even in this short stay, we were very happy with the arrangements. The unit and the surroundings were quite beautiful. The landscaping is very pretty, and the beach is really close and nice. When we first got there, we were concerned that the beach would be too rough for us to swim in because it seemed pretty choppy, but we happened across one of the neighbors, and she informed us that it was just high tide. We waited a few hours, and sure enough, the swimming was great. However, the bottom is very rocky, and pretty much requires you to wear shoes. The rockiness inspired us to try snorkeling there, and we got to see lots of little fish and pretty coral. Not the prettiest snorkeling ever, but perfectly good for those of the group that were first timers. The biggest disappointment we had, though, was with the wireless internet. I'm not sure if something was wrong with the router, or what, but while we were able to log in to the network, we got very poor signal strength, and in some parts of the unit (like in the bedrooms) couldn't reliably connect at all. As our stay was only for two nights, we didn't worry about it too much, but if we had stayed longer we would have contacted someone to see if it could be fixed. The biggest benefit, on the other hand, was the closeness to the Polynesian Cultural Center. We spent one day there, and the unit was close enough that we just walked over. It saved us parking costs and made it a lot easier to get home at the end of the day. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely consider a similar rental if we return to Hawaii again.
Sarah H., Carthage, MO, 4.22.11
The view was AMAZING!!! THe house was very comfortable formy whole family 7-70. We really loved having the great kitchen to make family meals with nine of us hard to eat out every day. The grocery store was so close and very nice. The resturant in north shore were great a little bit of a drive. Turtle mountain was very convient and not bad food. The gentleman who took careof the house was very nice and helpful The only negative was the house was not super clean. It looked like the did not have time to deep clean beofre we arrived. All the beds had clean linen and towels. Over all a wonderful time for our whole family plenty of room and the pool was a god sent for the kids.
April V., Corrales, New Mexico, 4.5.11
We felt very safe with the secure elevator access. The customer service I received was very helpful. We enjoyed driving around the island of Oahu and seeing all the little communities. The best restaurant we found was in Manoa -Paesano Ristorante, more upscale; great lasagna and eggplant parm. The unit we stayed in had a very small bedroom and had highway traffic noise all the time; after the first night we slept on the futon couch in the living room so we got fresh air and the sounds of the ocean. We liked the washer/dryer in the condo. Insider tip for visitors to Poly. Cult. Ctr.-the cost is 51.00 for a gen. adm. ticket-go later in the afternoon so you can take adv. of more activities. Dole Plant. has pineapple ice cream!
Elizabeth I., Hilliard, Ohio, 3.30.11
Next time I travel to Hawaii, I'll definitely be booking my accommodation with your agent. The service I've received from the moment I made my first inquiry has been brilliant.
Tina H., Lansvale, NSW, 3.13.11
1. Good Location. 2. Needs lights and several minor repairs. 3. Needs AC in upper bedrooms. 4. Needs the old cars removed for more parking. 5. Needs proper code set for front door.
Roland W., Highland, Utah, 3.8.11
What I liked best was surf out the front, ponds and water features, koi and frogs out the back, the sounds were amazing (except the chickens next door but we got used to them and it added vibe). Customer service was great, Ray - Thankyou! and Mark, Janet you were both amazing help and really grateful for everything. Best restaurant was Lei Lei's at Turtle Bay for price and service. Overall, an amazing place, we will most definately be back. Feel very lucky to have found it and enjoyed our stay (only wish it were longer). Thanks again and looking forward to next year. Chris
Chris B., Waterfall, NSW, 3.6.11
I appreciated the wonderful view and the condo was very nice. We made many trips using this as our base and enjoyed coming home each night. It was very helpful to have a kitchen to cook most of our meals. We would stay here again if we were on this island. Bob
Robert B., Beaverton, OR, 1.22.11
I really liked that this unit was secluded and quiet. It is about a 15 minute walk to the beach and a 2 minute walk to the pool.
James K A., Honolulu, HI, 1.19.11
we enjoyed the ocean breeze suite ..it was private right on the ocean very comfy.. Ray is a wonderful person was very respectful of our privacy but and all the info you needed...we watged the sufers in the regular places but went to the beach on the south part of the island sandy beach...we enjoyed getting fresh ahi salas at the foodmart at the north shore cheap and fresh..thank for everything Ray you will see us again..Marie and Billy
William and Marie V., Anchorage, Alaska, 1.13.11
We really enjoyed and appreciated our recent stay in unit 314. The unit was very clean and well kept. We liked the proximity to the ocean/beach and the snorkling right from the beach! The customer service was fine. On landing at the airport we made the call to advise him of our imminent arrival. Even on Christmas Eve he was on call and ensured we would have no problem finding the condo's and gaining access. We were not in Hawaii for excitement - we were looking for a relaxed holiday away from crowds. This is sure the place for that! It is removed from the 'action' - and that's what we wanted. There aren't too many places to eat in the area, however, we really enjoyed the shrimp trucks, bbq'd chicken truck and Domino's! We could have tried some of the restaurants, but chose not too. Several days we went 'beach hopping', just to check out the other beaches. We were quite happy that we had a beach right out our door! Many visitors staying in other types of accomodations around Oahu had to use the public beaches or even PAY for snorkeling! We didn't. Also, our beach was alot calmer than most of the other beaches on the north shore due to the reef quite a ways from the beach breaking the waves. We were very close to Giovanni's Shrimp truck, BYU, Polynesian Centre, shave ice, and driving was quick and easy to Windward Mall and even Waikiki when we chose to make the drive. We drove the entire perimeter of the island (as much as we could!) and the central part of the island. The best insider tip I can give is rent 314 for a nice, relaxed vacation - with good clean accomodations, wonderful wi-fi connections, a view of the ocean (and the sound!), snorkel from the beach (they have fins and masks if you forget yours). We did contribute to the 'stash' in the unit by leaving a couple beach mats, replenishing the olive oil, paper towels, tissues, dish washer soap etc. That makes it even better for the next folks coming in! We appreciated what was left behind for us, that's for sure! It would be good to note that there is a hair dryer in the unit! I brought mine, but could have left the extra weight at home! Another insider tip is, the local grocery store - Tamura's - was open on Christmas Day (closed New Years Day) - they had good prices, and were close to the apartment. Alot of locals shop there, and that's usually a good sign! We did organize our own overnight trip to the Big Island to see Hawaii. We went with Hawaiian, and got a car and hotel for a good package price. Next time, we will explore Maui with an overnight trip! Thank you for making our stay comfortable and hassle free. We truly enjoyed it. Next time we may go at another time of year - the end of Dec/beginning of Jan this year was overly wet! But you can't control the weather! John and Denise
Denise P., Cambridge, Ontario, 1.10.11
We liked the fact that it was low key, old style , and non-glitzy. Beach access and the beach was great. It could use some maintrenenance - windows and screens opening and closing.
Ralph H., , , 1.10.11
Very nice to find a few condiments in the fridge, coffee, sugar etc. The location is very convenient for east and north shore beaches. The only drawback is the noise from the highway with all the doors and windows open. But we got used to it and would return again.
Andera H., Eastsound, Washington, 1.8.11
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT THE BEST RESTAURANT WAS OLA AT TURTLE BAY A FEW THINGS MAYBE TO INCLUDE TO GUESTS, I HAD ANTICIPATED FULLY STOCKED WHICH OVERALL WAS VERY GOOD BUT LITTLE THINGS LIKE A HAIR DRYER HAD I KNOWN WOULD HAVE BROUGHT ONE BUT ENDED UP HAVING TO BUY ONE. THERE WERE PLENTY OF TOWELS FOR BATHROOM AS WELL AS BEACH WHICH WAS VERY NICE OVERALL OUR TRIP AND OUR EXPERIENCE WAS FANTASTIC AND WE LOVED EVERY MINUTE! THANK YOU
Christine M., Redding, CA, 12.11.10
This was a great unit, although small for more than 2 people. The bedroom is very snug!! Wonderful view of the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked with spices etc, and there was lots of beach "stuff" for people to use if they wanted. We loved the Huuala Loop trail, and also Laie Falls trail, both offered wonderful views. If you want to eat out much there's nothing within walking distance, we went to Crouching Lion one night but mostly cooked at home.
Tessa M., Palo Alto, CA, 11.27.10
It was nice You might check video feed on dvd and leave instructions for next geust, how towork the ting aloha, Mahalo

Best Snorkel beaches: Makaha Beach, Electric Beach (Kahe Beach), Sharks Cove. Best Bakery: Ted's Bakery, North Shore Best Picture: sunrise at Blue Hawaii condo, and rainbow over Honolulu and Ilikai Marina Thanks again, Brian
Brian T., Miamisburg, OH, 11.1.10
The unit was well equipped for myself and my three young children, just like a home away from home.Chris ,the property manager , was very informative and helpful. We enjoyed the proximity to Sharks Cove , Waimea Bay ,and surrounding north shore .The grocery store had everthing we needed and was within walking distance, which was conveinent.Small town atmosphere was a world away from honolulu's hustle bustle and bright lights.Explored the whole north shore and this is definitly the spot to be at to enjoy the surf and snorkle. We really enjoyed the waimea falls park! So much beauty and diversity of plants . Do not forget your camera .I was on a budget and found this property not knowing what to expect.Trump coined the phrase "location, etc." and this one has it.The whole process of securing this property was done online and via my iphone so i always had the information , reservations , and contract, right at my finger tips. Thanks guys,I may upgrade to the beach front next time around

My primary purpose of this trip was to be with our son and his family from Australia - It was a wonderful visit with them and the house was certainly spacious enough to accommodate all of us. It was such a lovely time that our son and his family extended their stay - (they were supposed to leave earlier than us (Sunday) but extended and we all left on Wednesday the 29th. We found the house a little uncomfortable due to the lack of a/c but we knew that going in - your weather was unusually hot and humid during our stay. Also, we had some issues with the refrigerator/freezer not working properly but the property manager was very accomodating and did her best to rectify the situation. Hawaii is so beautiful and overall our experience was wonderful - especially all the time I got to spend with our grandsons 8, 2 and 11 months. We totally enjoyed the pool and the close proximity to the beach. Thank you.

Great location, very relaxing and perfect proximity to town (Haleiwa). However, the house needs to be maintained: (1) basisc maintaenance of sliding screen doors was required during the stay; (2) electrical system is questionable (i.e., fans and lights randomly turn on and off at all hours of the night and day); (3) Roof leaks in main entryway which resulted in slippery tile surface (i.e., it's just a matter of time until someone falls and hurts themselves); (4) AC unit in one room required replacement; (5) washing water drains onto the ground and seeps under the house foundation. Management staff did support repairs and maintenance (althought the roof leak eluded final repair). However, the grounds keeper/lawn maintenance staff needs to show a bit more interenst in the overall condition of the grounds (i.e., we implemented sprinkler repair and moved sprinklers in order to keep the lawns alive!) All that said, I would stay at this residence again. Dave 'A' TLI Solutions

Amazing proximity to everything. Customer service was really good. Best part was surfing with Sunset Suzie :) Best restaurant was probably the hot dog joint just opposite the supermarket. Chilled out! Definitely stay at Waimea cottage, it's got everything u need and the outdoor shower was tres romantique. Don't forget to check out at 10am otherwise you'll be watching 90210 with a hangover when the maid arrives. Next time we will go horse riding at Happy Trails :) Aloha!
Sofia M., Auckland, New Zealand, 8.31.10
The bedrooms were fine and we really enjoyed the daybed in the living room. The bathrooms could use some updating. We visited in July and didn't use the a/c because the breeze through the unit is very nice.
Kathy F., Kailua, HI, 7.21.10
Awesome location! Very relaxing, we definitely enjoyed our stay.
John D., Miami beach, FL, 7.17.10
I loved the sound of the ocean at night and the cool breezes, as well as the beautiful, fragrant flowers in the garden and yard. The best treat was the acai bowl at the Coffee Gallery in Haleiwa--local honey, homemade granola, acai frozen yogurt and fresh mango and papaya--worth getting up early for! We had a great trip.
Krista D., South Bend, IN, 6.4.10
This was a trip of a lifetime for my husband and me. We had a wonderful time, the beach was beautiful and private. There were several great places to eat - The Crouching Lion, Jameson's by the Sea - just to name a few. The condo was quiet, secluded and had a killer view for sunrises. Real close to several other great beaches to watch amazing sunsets. If you are looking for a place to truly get away for some much needed R&R, we highly recommend this condo.
Judy F., Marion, IN, 6.1.10
The condo was very comfortable and well-furnished. We made good use of the home theatre system. We found the location to be somewhat remote and very relaxing, away from all the crowds. It was nice being right on the beach. We were within an hour's drive of everything we wanted to do: Hanauma Bay, Waikiki, Sunset Beach, Waimea Valley and Beach, the Dole Plantation, etc. The Polynesian Culture Center is a mere 10 min. drive up the road. Restaurant recommendations: Papa Ole's in the shopping center near Tamura's has very good teriyaki beef and ribs. Our favorite was down the road at Sunset Beach, Ted's Bakery. The garlic shrimp is to die for. Further down in Haleiwa, Matsumoto's shaved ice is fantastic. Other than relax on the beach, there's not much to do near Punaluu, so we did a fair amount of driving to get to other destinations, but even relatively laid back Sunset Beach, Waimea Beach and Haleiwa were crowded compared to Punaluu and Hauula, so it was really nice to return to the peace and quiet each evening.
David J., Portland, OR, 4.13.10
This was a great house for our mini family reunion. There was plenty of space for 11 people to move around comfortably, spend time with each other and yet still have some time alone. The kids really enjoyed the pool when the weather at the beach was too rough. We had great customer service and were given some great advice on places to go.
Laurie B., Taipei, Shilin District, 4.10.10
Great condo! Very clean and relaxing!
Ashley B., Wahiwa, Hi, 4.7.10
What I liked best about the unit was the updated furnishings, ad the BEAUTIFUL view! Costumer service was very good. The best part of my trip, although a bit of a drive, was swimming with the turtles at Paradise Cove!!! Snorkeling there as well was a great experience! The best restaurant we found was The Crouching Lion.........right down the street from the unit with a beautiful lagoon view! The best picture we took of ourselves was with the turtles!! I can't wait to tell my friends what a beautiful, natural environment that we enjoyed every day! My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be to be aware that you will be a god 45 to 60 minutes from many of the attractions, but it is worth it to enjoy going back to your comfortable unit with it's magnificent views and falling asleep to the sounds of the waves breaking. It was always windy here, so bring clothes for that, but the other side of the island is much less windy. I didn't have time on this trip, but next trip I will take the helicopter tour of the island and perhaps the sunset booze cruise out of Waikiki! The PCC was a good day, ending with a Luau and a fabulous performance held in the Amphitheater. It's a beautiful Island and the Royal Hawaiian Beach Front unit made our stay very comfortable!
Susan L., Mendon, MA, 4.5.10
What I liked best about the unit I rented was the location. I loved staying at the North Shore and the condo community was well kept. This unit fit our family well, sleeping seven of us! If the owner were to do any routine upkeep, I would suggest updating the bathrooms. I would stay here again.
Darrin D., South Jordan, UT, 4.1.10
Our rental was beautiful! We liked that it has a fully stocked kitchen (dishes and such). The only thing we had to get was food. I liked the large patio with the beautiful view. We ate breakfast out there every morning. There was a great little shoppette a 5 minute walk away. They had just about everything you would need. The security was great! I felt very comfortable there. Our kids loved swimming in the ocean. It was calm enough so that I didn't worry about larger waves coming in and overtaking inexperienced ocean swimmers. My husband and I tried to take a walk on the beach one evening, but the tide had come in and there wasn't much beach left to walk on. But we just went out earlier the next night and had a great walk. Reef shoes are a must for those who are going in the water. There are small to large pieces of coral all over just past the surf. In all, our stay was quiet, enjoyable and if we ever return to the island, we will definitely be staying again!
Gretchen W., Avondale, AZ, 3.26.10
The best part of this unit was the layout and room. When visiting you definately have to go to Ted's and have the coffee and pie. The only downfall of this unit was that we could not get any of the bikes to work, the compressor didn't work.
Melissa P., Moses Lake, WA, 3.13.10
We had a wonderful stay. Our unit was beautiful. We had everything we needed. From Beach chairs, coolers and all new appliances. The view was stunning. We saw whales right from our balcony. The beach was beautiful. I swam with a sea turtle and saw lots of fish while snorkeling. The water was calm and warm. I could walk for ever on the beach. I can't wait to come back. Sunrises were amazing. We hiked the Loop which was a nice hike and a good workout. The best part of my stay was the quiet, peacful area and beach. We love Hawelia Joes restaurant. Food and service was great. If you like relaxing, peace and quite then this is the place to stay! Pack lightly as the unit had a washer and dryer and all you really needed was swim suits, shorts, sweater and 1 dressy outfit. Thank you for everything. Margaret
Margaret F., Scotland, Ontario, 2.28.10
The unit has a beautiful view of the ocean and a very nice protected beach. We loved the quiet and low key nature of the windward side of Oahu. The mountain views were stunning. Surfing watching, whale watching, sailing and shopping were very nice on the North Shore. The crab cakes at the Crouching Lion restaurant were great.
Howard B., Shaker Heights, OH, 2.25.10
The location was great, it was central to many good surf spots. The rental agents made it very easy for us. I would stay here again if i came back
Grady F., Melbourne, Victoria, 2.10.10
This place was the definitely the nicest rental condo I have stayed in! It was clean, quiet and had a very warm feel! My family was very comfortable and we had a wonderful time. The view is amazing and the beach was perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There are not too many restaurants available in the immediate area, but it is not too far from Haleiwa to drive to have a nice dinner. There are two grocery stores in the area as well that have everything you need to eat in at the condo. I would recommend this to anyone who does not want to stay in Honolulu and would like to have a nice quiet vacation.
Catherine M., Eagle River, Ak, 2.10.10
This unit accommodated the five of us nicely. I love staying on the North Shore. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoy the walking paths. We love the beaches and the small towns nearby. We love stopping at the local fruit stands and being able to have our meals in the condo. Had a wonderful time on Ocean Joy Cruises and at Germain's Luau. We had outstanding service at both.
Melba B., Boise, ID, 2.10.10
Location! Right across from the Polynesian Cultural Center, but also on a private beach (you can almost hear the waves from the bungalow). The owner lives next door and is incredibly friendly and helpful. He personally installed the 2-person shower which is the highlight of the room. The room is slightly awkwardly designed furniture-wise- a pullout bed is pretty useless for a couple and there is a big empty space in the middle of the floor. The biggest down side for the place is the rooster next door that wakes you up at 5:30am.
Shefa G., Washington, DC, 2.9.10
We found this property to be a great place to stay. We would wake up early and walk the 1/2 block to the edge of the point and watch the sun come up. We even spotted whales!! We loved being in Laie with the more relaxed atmosphere. It was a short walk to the grocery store and close to the beach and the Polynesian Cultural Center. I would recommend that a mirror be put into each bedroom so that the bathrooms could be freed up quickly. Other than that...it was perfect for us. The manager was so accomodating and friendly. We arrived very late at night and everything was easy and ready for our arrival.
Jolene P., Raymond, Alberta, 2.8.10
The Ocean Breeze Suit really lives up to its name. The property is in a beautiful location and is a great place just to relax and soak everything in. The Suite itself is very nicely decorated and we really enjoyed the outside shower. Drinking our morning coffee on the patio while watching people surfing and humpback whales off in the distance was just breathtaking. The sunrising right in front of the suite was gorgeous and watching a full moon rise was just spectacular. Being animal folk, we really enjoyed Jake's company whenever he would come over just to lay on the floor and watch us or join us for a walk on the beach. Ray was a more than gracious host, and was always egar to answer any of our questions about the area. Shopping at the local Foodland is great and make sure to get one of their store cards for good discounts. A great place for breakfast is the Hulilau Cafe just up the road from the Foodland. We had such a great time, I don't know if it is possible to improve on anything we did or saw. Staying at the Ocean Breeze Suite was the best idea ever, and I can't imagine our vacation being so perfect if we had not found it. I would definitely stay there again, without question.
Dawn E., Fort Collins, Co, 2.6.10
My stay was amazing! The pictures matched the posting perfectly, and the customer service was top notch. I have stayed in other condos in Kuilima before and so far this is my favorite one, (and the nicest.) I would recommend this unit to anyone.
Shannon D., Montecito, CA, 1.27.10
This property was an average home in Hawaii. The property is situated on a lot with another home. The other home backs to the ocean while this home is closest to the street. The view from the home is still great and you can certainly see the ocean from the home but it does not back directly to the ocean. The house is a bit run down. In fact the toilet seat was broken when we arrived. After notifying the property manager they did get this taken care of but it did take a few days. The best part of this property was the cost to house many people. There was plenty of space (although we did not use the separate living area). The separate living area is accessed through a separate entrance and is located right next to the street at the back of the carport area (from the pictures it looks like it is on the same level as the house with the same deck - this separate area is below the house, under the deck area). When we checked it out the unit was musty. We even saw a lizard on the wall which immediately ran up the wall to the roof and outside as soon as we turned on the lights. As you can imagine, the kids were not thrilled to stay in this area. There were boogie boards and other ocean toys there for use. We enjoyed using these during our stay. If you are looking for beach access, this house is not exactly "close" to a beach. You can walk about 1/2 mile or so to a sand beach. Luckily we had other relatives who had rented another house which was situated on the beach so we were able to use that area. If we did not have the other house on the beach we would have had to go to the Hukilau Beach park which is probably about .5 - 1 mile away. Overall the house was ok. It met our needs of a place to stay in Hawaii, although it would not be a consideration for the next time we go. We would want something on the beach and not as run down.
Scott W., Brighton, CO, 1.27.10
My husband and I had a great time at the Blue Hawaii, I lived in HI 23 years ago and didn't care to return to Waikiki so we decided on staying at Pat's at Punalu'u, it was a great decision as the Blue Hawaii was so clean and well equipped, it even came with snorkel equipment and a surfboard..surfing it's much harder than those guys make it look. The sunrises were amazing and we had the beach pretty much to ourselves every afternoon. I would suggest to anyone staying on this side of the island to rent a car, we drove all over the island from Halaiwa to Kailua and everywhere in between. Dining out options on this side of the island are limited so we shopped in Laie at Foodland and cooked in breakfast and dinner and usually ate out for lunch when we were on one of our many road trips. Our condo had all the necessary items to cook a meal, which saved a lot of money and who wants to eat out every meal. My husband and I loved kayaking in Kaliua, swimming with the turtles at Hanauma Bay, doing the hike up Diamond Head and visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center. Always travel with a back up camera or at least replacement batteries, you don't want to miss a thing. I would like to comment on the customer service but we never had any issues so we didn't need to call Mark..I guess that means the service was great. Thanks for a great stay!
Kellan B., Poulsbo, Washington, 1.12.10
We liked the location of the bungalow the most, we shared the beach only with a monk seal!!! We could go swimming at our beach every morning even if the North Shore Waves had been huge a couple miles further north. The bungalow is equipped with a full kitchen, but for lunch we would recommend the shrimps up the street. They are so yummie!!
Manuela J., Heidelberg, Germany, 1.10.10
This is a great house in a great location if you want a vacation that is tourist free. It is with in walking distance of Turtle Bay which has great restaurants. The sea food buffet on Saturday is well worth the walk and the cost. There are lots of beaches close by. I would suggest getting a car if you plan to shop in Honolulu or if you want to go to the other parts of the island.
Tanya M., El Sobrante, CA, 1.7.10
Beautiful location, nicely decorated.
Patricia N., San Diego, CA, 12.26.09
What we liked best about the unit was the excellant view of the ocean from the patio. The customer service from Mark, was outstanding. The very best part of our trip was my wife and renewing our marrige vows,we where married At Pearl Harbor 50 Years ago. We drove to all points of the Island, some several times. The very best was the area around from diamond head and also the north shore. We have countless pictures and video. My advice to share with others staying in this unit is to really appreciate all the beautiful photos hanging throuout the unit. Also keep in mind this building is not one of the newer condos on the Island, with the exception of a few minor repairs needed the unit was very nice. Again I will say that Mark, was my contact person and I would recommend him any day. Thank You ! William Olson.
William O., Vancouver, WA, 11.22.09
My advice to people staying at this property is to not be fooled by the location of the ocean relative to the house. The ocean is about 15 feet away from the back lania. The ocean is against a ridge on the property that is about 10-15 feet high and is constructed of extremely sharp and jagged edges of volcanic rock. It is absolutely beatiful, but not useable in any way whatsoever. It would also be a good idea if you are not a fan of air conditioning. There are several fans throughout the house to make the heat bearable. The price is right for the size of the property.
Jason W., CALGARY, ALBERTA, 11.5.09
After reading the description and viewing the photos of this condo, I was really looking forward to actually staying there. Having completed the trip now, I cannot express how exceptional my stay was. The condo has all of the upscale amenities listed (HD home theater system, stainless steel appliances, etc) but it also has conveniences that add to the luxury. A remote control operated AC system and ceiling fans and lights with adjustable level switches help keep the temperature comfortable. A fully stocked kitchen (blender, toaster, serving dishes, BBQ grill utensils, etc) make it easy to save money on dining out. The bathroom vanity and shower each have a glass shelf to make room for multiple guest's toiletries. The main bedroom has a memory foam mattress topper and was free of any sinking spots -- I have a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed at home, and I didn't even notice the difference between the two. There were several books to choose from as well as about 20 DVDs with popular movie titles and each television has a DVD player. I did not utilize the DVD collection as the view from the lanai and the beach front access were breath taking. The continental shelf breaks about 300 yards from the beach so the change in the color of the water is gorgeous. It also breaks the waves, so the beach is safe for children and is relaxing and easy when floating on a raft. The front door has a privacy deadbolt that locks automatically so that provides added security -- something I appreciated as a single 23 year old female vacationing alone (but be aware that if you leave the condo without your keys to take a look at the weather or grab something from the car...the deadbolt will lock itself automatically after about 30-60 seconds). The parking spot is right across from the elevator so it makes trips with luggage much easier. The elevator is accessed with a FOB, so that provides added security. The high speed internet access was very convenient, but mildly sketchy (video conferencing on Skype was only successful for about 30 seconds before it timed out -- regular internet browsing was more than capable though). The washer and dryer in the unit are excellent, high-efficiency machines (the dryer takes a while though, 2+ hours for a load of towels, so time it accordingly). I considered the location to be very convenient -- 45 minutes from Honolulu and about 45 minutes to Haleiwa on the North Shore. I went to the west shore just to see what it was about, it took an hour and it was a wasted trip -- the beach is full of tent and tarp communities and the beach is lined with large rocks, making the breaks and surf mildly dangerous for kids or inexperienced swimmers. Its also about 12 minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center - something you definitely want to check out (I was there right before Halloween and they had a haunted lagoon exhibit, so I would imagine they rotate it out to include new exhibits regularly). I would also recommend driving past Haleiwa to the Kaena Point State Park -- I had rented a Jeep and there's a little route to offroad into the park. It takes you right along the beach and has little tangents that lead to packed sand hills that make great parking spots with great views and great sun. Since the condo is located on the windward side of the island, shortly after 12 noon the clouds come over the mountain and block the sun. The state park has a huge beach as well as the offroad sand hills that are always sunny and windy to keep sunbathers cool. The condo was an excellent place to come back to every day and it made it that more enjoyable. Book your stay in this condo now, because I will definitely be coming back and I might steal your dates! Enjoy!
Kelsey Z., Lakeville, Minnesota, 10.20.09
we loved it there and everyone was so accommodating and super nice your on site manager was the greatest. thank you all
Theodore W., Everson, WA, 10.19.09
It was awesome! No bugs! Great Ocean breeze right in your door. Beautiful sun rises and the beach just outside the door was wonderful. Our unit was warm and cozy, perfect for two people. We had everything including an out door shower just outside our bedroom door. Perfect for when you get out of the ocean. Maria and Raymond were gracious host. We hope to come back sometime with the whole family! Back home in KC!
Eileen T., Kansas City, Missouri, 10.5.09
Good unit close to beach with friendly neighbors. Good surf nearby but what out for the occasional unreasonable, unpleasant, and irrational local in the water, who knows you are a haole, and wants you to know it too, no matter how respectful you try to be. Great to be in a well equipped and maintained house far from resort style places
Matthew Z., Newcastle, NSW, 9.29.09
The customer service left something to be desired. We arrived late in the evening on Sunday. The parking pass was not inside our unit as it was supposed to be. We called our rep and he said "don't worry about it tonight and tomorrow you can get it from the property manager". It was NOT easy getting a hold of the property manager. We wandered around the complex 4 times throughout the day looking for this man. We would find a random employee who would tell us to come back in a few hours when he might be around. There was no office or simple way to get a hold of him. Also our gas stove didn't work and he was kind enough to fix it even though he told us it wasn't his job to fix it. The rep from HomeAway said the property manager was supposed to do it.
Hope B., Denver, CO, 9.22.09
WE LIKED THE OPENNESS AND THE POSITION ON THE POINT THE VIEW IS STUNNING SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT SOME WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE ON THE BATHROOM OVERLOOKING THE SEA & YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO BE SHY ABOUT TAKING A SHOWER THERE!! EASY WALK TO 2 GREAT BEACHES AND SUPPLIES. THE HOUSE WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND APPLIANCES GREAT. NICE TO HAVE SOMEWHERE TO SIT & EAT
Lorene R., Red Hill South, Victoria, Australia, 9.18.09
THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE COTTAGE HAD NO WHERE FOR 4 ADULTS TO SIT AND NO TABLE TO EAT AT NO CHAIRS ON LANAI AND COCONUTS KEPT FALLING ON THE LANAI NO SEPARATE BEDROOMS MOUSE POO IN THE DRAWERS COTTAGE IS LOCATED IN A CONVENIENT SPOT
Lorene R., Red Hill South, Victoria, Australia, 9.18.09
The unit living room/kitchen area was nicely furnished, very clean, and comfortable. The beach was literally steps away and the water easily accessible.
Jan S., Seattle, WA, 9.14.09
This suite is absolutely beautiful inside and out. You are literally steps away from the ocean. The property also offers a beautiful little garden to sit in. Little touches around the property and in the suite are superb. Would definately visit/stay here again, in fact we plan on returning next year. Location is great, nice and quiet.
Kelly W., Surrey, BC, 9.13.09
The place was nice, and really easy to find. It was very accessible to the Turtle Bay Beach - which is by far one of the best beaches! The construction was very annoying though, because it ruined a beautiful view down Kuilima Rd. Also, the trees were definitely in the way of the view - it was NOT the image I expected after seeing the pictures.
Kengie L., Richmond, British Columbia, 9.2.09
The unit was great and convenient to the north shore. It took us about an hour to drive to Waikiki for our activities there. The Dole plantation was 30 minutes away, the Polynesian Cult. Center took us about 15 minutes. The access to Turtle Bay Resort was fantastic. We enjoyed eating at the road side shrimp stands located nearby. The unit was well kept and it so nice to have the amenities of home while on vacation. There were two bedrooms with A/C and the rest of the house has fans. You could open the doors and get the breeze in.
Tanja R., Gilbert, Az, 8.6.09
The location of the rental house was fantastic. The local manager was friendly and attentive. The best part of our vacation to Hawaii was snorkeling and communing with nature. The best restaurant was The Cheesecake Factory in downtown Wikiki...yummy. The best picture I got of our adventures was at Sea Life Park. I recommend climbing Diamond Head. It is a difficult hike but you will be proud of yourself when you get to the top. Attention Property Owner: I just wanted to point out that although the property was beautiful and the house was well stocked and comfortable, on our first night there we had some rain that poured in through the framework of the downstairs bedroom window with the door to the backyard. The window behind the bed leaked and when I pulled the bed away from the wall I noticed there was a protruding electrical box under that window and decorative curtains in front of that. I found this to be frightening and being a fire hazard I searched for the nearest fire alarm and I found none. I moved myself and my young child from the room and we slept upstairs to be both away from the outlet and near a door with ventilation. We had no other significant rain while we were there and the problem was resolved once the rain stopped. It just may be something you need to look into for maintainance and safety reasons. Thank you.
Bobby R., FPO, AP, 8.3.09
The Sunset Big House was perfect for large family gathering. There was a ping pong table also surf boards and bike's to ride to the beach. Lots of nice beaches, but lhave to drive to beaches also the traffic is very busy.
Frances H., El Paso, Tx, 7.16.09
Good kitchen; showers and bedding Great spot
David B., Hawthorn, VICTORIA, 7.13.09
I thought that Ray (the owner) was great. The property was great I had only one concern and that was the parking so close to the road, however that was not a problem as we later found out. It was great to be so close to the Polynesian Cultural Center. There was no problem staying in Lai'e because there were all sorts of services available in town. The only problem that our family had was all of the places we wanted to visit were about an hour away in travel time so we did a lot of driving. Most of the tourist attractions closed at 5:00 pm so it was important to get up early in the morning.
Mark B., North Ogden, Utah, 7.13.09
The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect. We had our own private beach. It flet much more like the "real" Hawaiian expereince as oppsoed to staying in a hgh rise hotel in Waikiki. We would definitely stay there again.
Andrea H., Yucaipa, California, 7.6.09
Bamboo Hale II was beautiful - we loved that the beach was right there outside the door. Raymond was awesome and was there for everything we needed.
Allyn P. G., Waukegan, IL, 7.6.09
The unit was the right size for just two adults, and having access to our own private beach (and breaks for the shade) was great. Snorkeling was good down the beach to the left. If you are staying in this unit: take advantage of Foodland grocery store just up the road, but do not forget there is another Foodland up near Pupukea, and there is another grocery store just south of La'ie, this one open Sundays. You can choose to dine at the Turtle Bay Resort even if you are not staying there. There are a couple of restaurants. We chose Lola's on the beach, fine dining at a table on the sand and watching the sunset. Free parking with restaurant validation. Also: if you want to spend the day at the beach at the resort, they have limited guest parking available for this specific purpose (come early in the a.m.), and there is also public beach access if you go on foot, but you need locals to give you some direction where to access if you do not plan to park at the resort. Best part of the trip: Snorkeling at Shark's Cove; visiting the turtles at Turtle Beach in the late afternoon; Giovanni's white shrimp truck! If you like hiking, Ray can give you some tips on nearby good hikes. We did not take advantage of this on this visit, but hope to in the future. Best insider tip: bring your own snorkeling gear (or purchase in Haleiwa)--you can pop into the water the minute you drive past a beach that is inviting you! Next time, if it's not so windy we hope to do some kayaking!
