Aloha...this was the best trip ever. I took my 73 year mother over for a vacation. The condo is awesome, the owner is a very nice man that was more than accomodating. It was clean and comfortable and has a awesome view. Everyone I met there was nice. The building is secure and I really liked that there was a security guard there at night. I can't wait to go back. This part of the island is more layed back and relaxing than the hustle bustle of the cities and that was what I was looking for. But its close enough that you can get to the bigger towns in a hour or so. The beach is great for swimming or just taking a long walk. I will recommend this condo to ALL my friends and family wanting to go there. Thank you Hendrick for a awesome visit to your beautiful condo.

We loved being ten steps from the ocean and swam every morning as soon as we got up. It's a very benign swimming venue - not too rocky and no crashing surf. Our landlady Tish was very charming and gave us great suggestions on what to do and where to shop and eat - renters should be sure to take advantage of her local knowledge. The "suite" is very basic but/and comfortable. The cooking facilities are a 2 burner hotplate, a microwave and a bbq, all that we really needed. With wireless and a nice TV we were all set. The location is very pleasant - away from the urban part of Oahu - peaceful. There are good grocery stores 5 minutes away. This is a great place to "get away from it all". One day we just stayed at home and read, enjoying the sound of the surf and the intimate view of the ocean just outside.

What We liked best about the unit was the view. Beautiful!
Mary B., Apple Valley, MN, 12.12.11
I was very happy staying in this unit. I would suggest they put a table next to the couch area and put a lamp on the one corner of the living room which would give more light to that area. Look forward to returning again to the same unit perhaps next year.
Pamela H., Comptche, CA, 10.7.11
What I liked best about the unit we rented was that it was beautifully decorated. The unit was remodeled using the best materials and appliances. We also enjoyed the large lanai. Everything you could need to make your stay feel like home away from home is in this unit. We only had to purchase groceries to fill the refrigerator and the detergent and softener for the washer and dryer, which I LOVE. All my laundry is clean before I leave so less work to do when I get home! The convenience of having the beachfront is AWESOME! And traveling with a 3 year old makes it all the more convenient not having to drive or walk far to the beach. The swimming pool is well maintained and we spent many hours in it.:) Beach chairs, umbrella, towels and sand toys are available in the unit as well. Easy peasy. We would gladly recommend this unit and property to our family and friends as well as anyone wanting a great deal.
Melissa G., Wasilla, Alaska, 9.16.11
I loved the view. The customer service was great. The best part of my trip was seeing the sea turtles on the north shore and swimming in the ocean in front of the condo. One night, a turtle visited the beach in front of us. Best restaurant was Kuhuku Grill! The best picture of me was taken on the lanai with the ocean in the background. My advice to someone staying in this unit is use the futon in the living room as it was too warm sleeping in the bed as the window does not open. and there is no air conditioning. Drive to the south east coast to see some of the awesome views. Stop by Ola at Turtle Beach and watch the surf while enjoying a few sliders. Best insider tip was where to find the sea turtles. Love the fact that volunteers watch over them. Very laid back, rural area - a nice change from Waikiki! The parking lot smells of sewage. Difficult to manage while you are there but does not affect the unit.
Bonnie B., Calgary, AB, 7.18.11
What I liked best about this rental was the private beach and the washer and dryer inside the condo. It was great to be able to wash wet swimsuits and towels at the end of the day. The location was nice since we weren't really into the crowds at Waikiki. The condo felt safe due to the fact that you couldn't even go up the elevator or stairs without a key. However, we had 8 people and only 2 keys. This was a bit annoying and inconvenient. And the condo was really only set up for 6 people as far as beach towels, dishes, etc. We ended up having to buy paper bowls, plates, etc. in order to eat together. The condo was fairly clean and we didn't have problems with bugs. It was wonderful to wake up to the sunrise over the ocean.
Marilee C., Louisville, CO, 6.10.11
Great place to relax! It is so close to the ocean, the sound of the waves are mesmerizing. The owner is super nice and extremely helpful.
Jeremy R., Phoenix, Az, 6.1.11
I liked the location the best at this rental. It was far enough from Waikiki that you get great beaches and great solitude, but also close enough to the north shore and other places that you aren't driving eons to get everyplace. The beach at Pats is amazing and I loved going on and sitting on the beach. Early in the morning crabs that bury themselves in the sand come out to go back to the water, might give you the heebie jeebies watching them scurry across the sand. We didn't find any restaurant we LOVED, but there were a bunch on the North Shore that we enjoyed. The one thing to be aware of when renting this unit is that the building has an extremely pungent smell of raw sewage when you pull up into the parking lot. It is like that all the time, and it is awful! The bedrooms of the units face the parking lot/highway side, so be prepared to smell is a bit in the bedroom, because there is no air conditioning, so you keep the windows open all the time. The sound of the highway (2 lane, back-road highway) didn't bother me, but I like a bit of white noise when I sleep. The couple of negative things about this unit in particular is that there is a cockroach problem, we saw one scurry across the floor the first night we were there and it freaked me out a bit...Then we saw a few more in the coming days and other various little bugs. Also, there is a family who seems to be living year round in the condo above Unit 310 and they have a very noisy bird that they keep on the back porch/patio. They do not cover the bird at all and the bird makes a lot of noise. Squawking loudly at the break of dawn and waking anyone within hearing distance. So much for sleeping in on my vacation. I would not rent this condo again. I plan on coming back to Oahu at some point, and we will stay somewhere more near the North Shore, the beaches there are just as amazing at Pats.
Libby O., Canton, MI, 4.30.11
What we liked best about the unit we rented was that it was very clean and comfortable. It was a plus to have the washer and dryer unit also. The customer service was very good. We highly recommended.
Elas P., Chula Vista, Ca, 4.25.11
The best feature about this unit was the proximity to the beach! The views are awesome! The water beautiful. Just steps from our room. Snorkeling was great - there are beautiful fish and turtles to be seen. The mountain views were lush and tropical. The beach is almost private, only having to share with a few couples and families. We met some really nice people from all over. The dinner and show at the Polynesian Center was just 10 minutes away and amazing! Haleiwa Joe's resturant served great food and Lucy's in Kailua had an early bird special that was also exceptional. We've already told most of our friends. Staying at Punalu'u is a great location, easy to drive around the island, down the road from Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach where the big waves come in for surfing. We also visited Pearl Harbour and Waikiki Beach. We bought groceries at the local market, Tamara's and the outside farmer's markets. The prices was very reasonable and the local residents were always friendly and helpful. We went on a budget, but lived like kings! It was great to have all the amenities we needed. Some of the best pictures we took were right from the balcony of our room and down on the beach. Thank you this was truely a tropical paradise...we'll definately be back!
Barry B., West Sacramento, CA, 1.24.11
The unit itself was terrific. The building is very much in need of repair. We smelled the sewers all week, many outdoor areas were in disrepair. The ability to understand check-in and check out procedures was difficult. An instruction sheet should be in the condo. There were no curtains in the unit and the common area lighting made sleep very difficult. The unit should have better lanai furniture, there were only 2 old chairs and a small table. We called customer service in the middle of the stay with questions, and didn't get answers that were useful. We will probably not stay there again.
Dennis M., Glendale, AZ, 1.24.11
This is a spacious beach front condo and well maintained and artistically decorated. The location is perfect with ocean right outside of the door. You hear the waves in the living room but not in your bedroom. The condo has exactly what we needed plus very nice washer and dryer. Imagine you wake up in the morning and just dip into the ocean right away. We really enjoyed our staying. Everything is so perfect We arrived late on Christmas Day and worried that we would have trouble to find the place. However, the host was waiting for us with warm welcome. We settled in for the night and hit the beaches surfing the next days. We checked out on New Year's Day. The host was also there to say goodbye to us. I highly recommend this condo. You won't find anything comparable to it at the price!!!
Peiling W., Knoxville, TN, 1.11.11
We really loved having the beach right in front of the condo. The customer service we received was excellent! Mark was wonderful to work with. The area where the condo was located wasn't really close to many restaurants. A lot of the local restaurants closed at 9:00 so if we wanted to have a late dinner we had to go into Wakiki which was a 45 minute drive. The only restaurant we ate at locally was Papa Ole's and I would highly recommend it, good food and good value. The way the condo was set up with having two floors was nice....the furnishings were fair. The toaster didn't work, there wasn't a spatula and the box springs were broken on one of the full beds in the first floor bedroom. We also found roaches in the condo.
Amy A., LOUISVILLE, KY, 11.29.10
What we liked best about this unit we rented was the fantastic ocean view from our own private back yard. Being from Colorado, it surpassed our ocean-fix need!
Sheila A., Louisville, CO, 11.29.10
The condo was is great condition and location. I would stay there again.
Gay M., NORMAN, OK, 11.7.10
The location of the unit was very nice, the proximity to the beach was great! We wished the pool was heated. Customer service was very good. Mark returned calls promptly. We loved Kailua Beach Park. Advice to someone staying in unit: North Shore is quiet, and away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. If what you are looking for is a modern updated unit, this is not it. But it was clean, comfortable and we loved the location. Kitchen could have a better selection of utensils, glasses, bowls, etc.
Ryan B., Toledo, Ohio, 11.1.10
We had a enjoyable stay at Pat's Punaluu. The beach was fantastic, great for snorkeling as there are many sea turtles to swim with in the bay. The windward side is relaxing and has a country atmosphere. Goivanni's shrimp truck is the best of many in the area. Stores with most of your needs are just up the street. As far as the unit goes it was very nice. On the positive side it had been completely remolded however the appliances were very complicated to operate. (No we are not 90 years old!) The T.V. no one could figure out.(not that you need T.V.) Would we stay again? YES Naturally we hope that next time these minor issues have been resolved. All in all, this is a good deal. Aloha..............G.S.G.
Gene G., Belfair, Washington, 10.26.10
Our stay in this unit was absolutely amazing and one that won't be forgotten for a very long time. The front door couldn't be any closer to the water's edge without having high tide end up in the living area with the best views in either direction. Sunrise was the best time of the day for us early risers because the sun literally rose outside our front door. Coffee drinkers stop by the Tropical Farms just south of here for some fresh roasted Macadamia flavored Kona coffee to brew for sunrise viewing. The experience on the whole couldn't have been better spent anywhere else on the island. The owners were very accommodating and full of information about where to go and what to do... sometimes what not to do which turned out to be very helpful as well. The North Shore offers a variety of beaches and various activities from some of the best snorkeling to surfing and its all only a short drive from the unit; if you don't like the weather where you are on any given day simply drive north until you get what you want. We ate at several of the shrimp shacks, which are an absolute must while on this side of the island, but Tony's Shrimp Shack about a mile north was by far the best for the money and convenient enough that we ate there several times. We'll definitely come back next time we're on Oahu and will recommend this rental to our friends.
Troy M., Palm Sprngs, CA, 6.28.10
what i liked best about the unit i rented was the location. what i did not like about Pats at Punaluu was the sewage smell coming from in front of the building( pretty gross when you know what you're smelling). Unit 413's dryer vent was vented into the unit so when you used the dryer the whole unit was like a home for lint.Womens nylons over end of dryer vent hose do not make good lint filters. Bedroom window on hiway side of building would not close completly so traffic sounds like you're sleeping on the road!( traffic starts about 4:30). Bedroom window blind was screwed on to the window. Like it was bust at some point and instead of getting a new one they just screwed the blind part of it to the window. I think Unit# 413 needs some work before it gets to far gone . The outside common areas where very clean and well maintain. staff where very nice and helpfull. The #1 thing I would Strongly recommend people to do would plan to see the Polynesian Cultural Center.See the stage show. 10 out of10. See it on your last day. You'll leave Hawaii with a smile on your face thinking highlite of the trip and we spent 2 weeks in Hawaii.(just a 10 minute drive north of the Pats).
John J., Comox, B.C., 1.28.10
The rental unit was perfect, out of the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. Tish and Lance were excellent hosts, made us feel at home. Would recommend to anyone and will return.
James S., Oro Valley, AZ, 12.7.09
It was so close to the ocean! What a beautiful view! The beach front was sandy and excellent for snorkeling. The house was very clean and tidy and very comfortable, as well as, having everything necessary for living. I loved having the washer and dryer. It was everything and more than we expected! I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a stunning oceanfront view!
Ray G., Chattaroy, WA, 11.26.09
We enjoyed renting this unit but more so it was the atmosphere and the people we rented from. The owners are very nice and careing people..They welcomed us with the utmost kindness:) We had an entire week of fun in the sun and lots of privacy. The place was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We didnt really go out to a restaurant because we were provided with all the kitchenware and utentils we needed and a grill to cook our own. We had lots of fun doing that and it gave us more alone time which is what we needed. The ocean and mountain veiw was spectacular and Jesse and I got up the last night there at 5:00am and saw the most awsome shooting star!! Then by 6:00 We witnessed the most beautiful Sunrise ever:) It was my first time in Hawaii and staying here in this rental made ALL the difference in the World...I would highly reccomend the ocean suite to anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic yet fun vacation stay:) Many, Many Thanks! Brenda nJesse

This was the perfect spot for my honeymoon!! The Owners are very nice and helpful. beautiful ocean front view, able to wake up to the sunrise practically every morning (except we were unfortunate to be there when it started flooding in Hawaii!) we did have several sunfilled gorgeous days prior to the storm. very quiet, peaceful place, away from the bustle of the city. had all basic amenities you need in the bungalow to do some decent cooking if you felt the urge. We usually had breakfast there, and then left to explore the island. best restaurants: jameson's and joe's in the northshore -very delish. Was not very impressed with buffet at Turtle bay resort. All the shrimp shacks in the northshore have excellent food! we also bought live shrimp and did a boil at the bungalow - very good! not very impresed with the Crouching lion restaurant though. If you go to honolulu, try Genkie's sushi - my fiance and I went back twice cause we liked it so much, they have the conveyor-belt sushi style, very fresh, and lots of choices. We were scheduled for a luau on Friday, but it was raining pretty hard and was cancelled. :( will have to do this next time. If you stay here though, expect to drive 35-45 mins minimum to town, etc since it is in a remotish area. We loved it though, and especially enjoyed to drive into town since the scenery was soooo beautiful. So sad that we had to leave though, it felt like paradise.
Dawn V., Albany, Ny, 12.15.08
The stunning Oceanfront Suite was fantastic. My wife and I did not know what to expect and were a little nervous before arriving since we had never stayed in a vacation rental before but shortly after arriving we were sure we made the right choice. The owners made sure we had everything needed during our stay and were very friendly. The view from the back is gorgeous and nothing beats waking up to the sound of the ocean. I would recommend this rental to anyone who does not want to stay in The Big City and is interested in experiencing Oahu outside of Waikiki. Conveniently located between the North Shore and Waikiki makes day trips for different activities convenient no matter where they are located. We would definitely stay at this location if we were to visit Oahu again and would recommend to family and friends. Thanks for a great vacation!
Nick L., Grayslake, IL, 11.19.08
Wonderfull private and quiet place away from the bussy waikiki area. we enjoyed staying there very much and hope to come back some day.
Jens K., Copenhagen, Denmark, 9.21.08
really enjoyed the place, i will be getting in touch with you to work something out. in the near future, i plan on spending about two weeks out of the month there. thanks again, Leroy
Leroy W., Oxnard, California, 8.7.08
I liked best about the unit was the distance to the water. The best restaurant was at the Turtle Bay Resort. The best picture I took was at Turtle Bay Resort. I can't wait to tell my friends about the gorgeous foliage of Hawaii.
Daphne H., Suwanee, GA, 7.25.08
We were married on Oahu during our stay at the "Stunning Oceanfront Suite"...it was a perfect honeymoon get-a-way! The unit was extremely clean and well kept as well as the property grounds. The beach is only a few steps away from the front door which included a breathetaking opportunity for a stroll on the beach. We were able to watch the sunrise every morning...spectacular!...and every night leave the door open to listen to the calming sounds of the ocean. The owners were very gracious and accommodating with all of our needs. I highly recommend this unit for the couple who needs to "run away" from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we did!! Aloha!
Michele M., Mission Viejo, CA, 5.4.08
This is a fantastic find. The view is breathtaking and sunrises amazing. The owners are friendly and welcoming. I love the area, the lack crowds but easily accessable to the city. We ate at the local places and love Giovanni's a little van on the side of the road. I love the north shore. We Loved our stay here....Justin and Kim
Kimberly R., Dillingham, AK, 8.12.07
We normally stay with family and friends, but wanted something a little different this time. Definitely a place to stay again. Not for anyone who actually WANTS to be in Town (Waikiki) very often during their trip. Beautiful drive down to Kailua. The unit was very clean (yeah!) and open. We spent most of our time sitting on the little deck watching the sunrise and enjoying the view. We LOVED that we had some wonderful dogs on either side of the property to help us with missing our own pups. We also appreciated the washer/dryer. Bring your snorkel and swim out for some nice snorkeling in shallow water because there are lotsa cool little ocean critters swimmin or crawling around. The owners are wonderful people with much aloha to share. No noise from the street or the unit above. Thank you so much for a wonderful place to stay!
Renate W., Burbank, CA, 7.30.07
Clean, convenient and oceanfront! The owners were very pleasant and helpful (great customer service). We loved the North Shore. Jameson's is the restaurant for a romantic sunset dinner. We will return!
Mary Ellen O., Rancho Cucamonga, California, 7.5.07
This unit is wonderful and on the most beautiful spot in Punaluu! We had such a fantastic stay and the property owners are the best! We wish we didn't have to leave!
Allison S., Boston, MA, 5.9.07
WOW!!! Great view. Watched the sunrise every morning. Very peaceful location. Super nice owners! Good snorkeling right off the back steps. Very clean and well kept. Wash/dryer were a big help! Great place to get away from the concrete jungle of Waikiki. Keep the country country!
Carl D., Pearl, MS, 4.25.07
We had an excellent time and the owners were very helpful in getting us setup with any needs we may have needed.
