great location, close walk to the beach
shops in the hotel were also convenient
Suite 611 had a nice set up and we used the kitchen frequently; however it could use more kitchen towels for doing dishes (there was only one!)
The main bed was fine, but the sofa bed matress was not comfortable at all, and the sheets were old and thin (needs replacement)
The lanai was nice, but the big sliding doors were difficult to open (a little WD-40 might help)
Best part of my trip was using a car to get out of the busy Waikiki area and explore the beautiful beaches on the East end of the island and watch the big surf on the North shore
Thanks for the opportunity to comment. I would like to thank Jody Lyon for being so helpful and attentive with coordinating my visit back home to Hawaii. Although spending time with friends and family was so spiritually refreshing and recharging. The accommodations and the management team while at the IIikai were disappointing. No answer on any of the management contact numbers when we arrived at the airport Could not gain access to the condo without access code Family waited in the IIikai lobby for over an hour waiting for rental management to return voice massage requesting help. No pool access, passes not issued and waiting at the room No instruction sheet highlighting amenities available at the complex (how to get pool passes, do laundry, etc). TV remotes worn out Kitchen extremely dated Noise from the traffic was deafening! Smell of car exhaust was also unpleasant. By Wednesday..I was ready to pack up. It was my family that insisted that I let it go and focus on friends and family.. So I did, however over all, I was not pleased.
Location was great and so was the sundeck even though we thought that it was a private deck which we quickly found that it was not!
Me and my husband stayed in a studio room we had no maid service even had to buy own toliet paper and it smelled. When we first checked in 2 of the lights didn't work and the t.v remote didn't work the whole time. The shower curtain was moldy. First time to Hawaii and It was the cheapest rental property we could find. If you decide to stay there go threw the hotel not the rental agents. We were told there was a kitchen and there was not. You have only one sink for everything and small. Staff at the hotel though real nice.
Everything is perfect except that controlling the room temp was a bit difficult at night. A/C on, it gets too cold, and A/C off, it gets really warm.. Other than this, we both enjoyed staying at this condo very much. If we have a chance to visit Hawaii next time, this would definitely be the most likely candidate for us. Thank you for having us. We loved the place and Oahu!!!
Conditions inside the unit were so poor we did not stay. The couch, chairs and ottoman were threadbare. The vertical blinds were rusty at the bottom. Vacation Rentals told us to go ahead and leave and they would give us a full refund. We are still waiting for that to happen 16 days later! We took pictures of this unit and would not recommend either the unit or Vacation Rentals as the responses to our refund inquiries have not been answered in a timely fashion.
Absolutely wonderful unit...comfy queen-sized bed and great to have Apple Mac set up with internet access in the room...thanks! Amazing location...last highrise on Diamond Head-end of Waikiki Beach, 1 back from beachfront with Zoo across the road, and unobstructed views to Diamond Head and beach. Quiet! In the morning, we were awoken to the noises from the birds and animals at the zoo. Huge rooftop patio right outside door (as if our own) with great tables, chairs and sunlounges. Room nicely appointed - glassware, crockery, cutlery and cooking vessels and utensils all more than adequate. Small fridge with most basic of icebox...really only to make icecubes as opposed to storing frozen food. Our stay was only 3 nights (this time!!) so really only had breakfasts 'in' but simple cooking and, of course, reheating, would be easily accomplished. The only reason we have dropped one star in the ratings is because, when anything does go wrong with the unit, there isn't really any way of finding someone to remedy it....the battery on the safe was flat so we were unable to utilize this very thoughtful addition to the unit.....the showerhead needs some maintenance and we were worried that the whole thing was going to come off it's attachment...no one to mention this to....the TV decided not to work after the first night, and no paperwork to show how to fix it, or who to call....perhaps all these things could be rectified easily with a short 'How to operate my unit'booklet... Having said that, we find ourselves back on the farm in New Zealand a mere 24 hours since closing the door on Unit 1005, and can still hear the surf roaring, the birds and monkeys chattering down at the zoo, and smell the fragrant waft of frangipani tree blossoms. We want to turn around and rush right back! Aloha....Aroha....Mahalo xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxx
Great location for those who want to be off the main drag yet walking distance to Waikiki. Nice and quiet at night with a beautiful view of the harbour and Ilikai courtyard. The lanai is great for watching the sunset. Kitchen was well stocked. Overall cleanliness was about a 5 out of 10. New sheets and a fresh douvet cover for the bed would have been good. Ours was an all boys trip so it wasn't a major issue, but still would have been appreciated. A few more towels and a make-over in the shower would be good additions. The shower stall is a bit grouty looking. Inclusion of snorkel gear is a nice touch.
The best thing about the unit was the location. The customer service was good (thank you). The best part about our trip was exploring the island.
The holiday was great and certainly worthwhile to come back to Hawaii. The rental property was ok but quite outdated. The whole building is due for a renovation. Nto sure if the value for money was appropriate.
The upsides are the location of the rental, it was in proximity to Waikiki and the Aloa Moana Park. The apartment was great views of the mountains and partial views of the ocean. It has very good breeze and we didn't have to start the AC. The building was old and some of the tenants from the building seem to be a little shady. The bathroom could use some cleaning and a change of shower curtains, and it has ant problems in the kitchen. If you rent a car, the garage has a very low clearance, so you may not want to rent a SUV or a jeep. With that said, the price of the rental was very reasonable given the location.
The best part of our rental unit was it's location as it was in close proximity to the beach as well as many activities that we wanted to get access to while in Wakiki. The unit was well furnished and the customer service that we received when we arrived at the airport was efficient and much appreciated. Thanks for helping make our first trip to Hawaii so memorable - it won't be our last!!
the amount of space! fantastic the beach Meditteraneo was at Pali Lookout take advantage to the proximity to the mall I have a refund coming to me
First....The Best location. Everything was very close; Waikiki Beach, Shopping, groceries stores. Etc...The place is a little small, but for what we nee it, was good. All the things the we need was there. Kitchen, beach stuff, ect. The girl the help us to get the location was super, ( sorry, I forgot her name...) let us a goodie basket with thing from Hawaii. She was very patience with us in the phone for directions. What I did not like was the people next door have a grocery cart in the hallway, like homeless person. The hallway was dark, and dirty. The bed was a little to old. But other then that everything was good for us.
