Apartment by Kailua Beach - We enjoyed our stay at the Apartment by Kailua Beach. The unit was clean an had many amenities. I was born and raised in Hawaii and now live on the mainland. I have stayed at various places and by far this was one of the best. When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised by such a wonderful array of Island goodies, which was ono (yummy). Ocean Villas at Turtle Bay 314 - The condo unit was absolutely awesome! It was very comfortable, and so close to the beach/pool. The unit was very well equiped, all we had to get was a few groceries and that was it. One thing we would have saved time not doing was getting groceries in Honolulu when we arrived. The traffic is very conjested around Honolulu and Waikiki, instead there was a Foodland just between Waimea and Turtle Bay that has everything you may need and it's only a short drive to the condo this way. We really loved being up at the NorthShore for there were many beaches to visite, especially liked Waimea Bay Beach Park. It was more laided back up at the NorthShore, and if you wanted to go out of the resort it was only a short drive elsewhere. We had a great dinner at LeiLei's Restaurant at the Golf course at Turtle Bay. Before we went to Oahu we bought a book called "Oahu Revealed" 2nd Edition, Andrew Doughty. The book was very helpful with maps of the whole island, and lots of information on activities, things to do and see in the area you are staying, etc. This is definately a place we would like to return too, just maybe a bit longer next time!!

Kalaka Beach Side - The house and yard was beautiful. Main area opening to the pool was grand and very functional. The House had a great breezeways through out to keep it cool. The king sized beds were great! Very quiet area with a spectacular beach. I would go again if I had the opportunity.

Ka Wiliwiliwai - This house is beautiful and very spacious, enough for our big family.
The quick access to the beach, great view of the ocean, and a nice size back yard to play and easy to use kitchen were some of my favorite.
We woke up early in the morning a few times during the stay to look at the stars, and it was gorgeous!
We also see many fish, enjoyed snorkeling. Just be careful for high tide and big waves.

I'll recommend this place for someone who would like to have a relaxed vacation to spend some time with your family.

The shopping was a little inconvenient. Tamura Supermarket was the closest, but you might feel a little uncomfortable to shop there. Just be careful, and don't go there after dark. Kapolei was the best one to sop, just about 20 minutes away.

I'll love to come back to this house again. ( I didn't want to leave!)

Makanani O Ke Kai - The house and the views from the house were amazing. The kids especially enjoyed the pool. The one drawback was that the third room was accessible from the upstairs porch, so none of the kids wanted to stay in there, and the room was unused. Other than that, the house was great. We had a wonderful time at Makanani O Ke Kai.

Baby Honu - Great location and real nice on-site manager. Only problem was first 2 days with noisy upstairs tenants, but all was fine after they left.

Beach Front Shores 202 - directions and assistance in finding the unit were excellent. ocean view and walking on the beach were highlights

Kailua Kai - 1) the proximity to the beach was extradinary especially with the beautiful lawn.
2) Customer service excellent
3) #1 above
4) Buzz's restaurant can;'t be beat
5) forget the picture
6) the house was fabulous
7)etc etc etc

Obviously we had a great time

Several comments:

1) The laundry room has faulty lights. They only come on after leaving the switch on for an hour. And... that is a dark nook.
2) Also the bathroom off of the laundryroom has a very leaky toilet which constantly refills itself every 5 minutes
3) None of the remotes for the TV area work because the batteries are all dead
4) The umbrella on the terrace was broken and we had to tie it up with it's own dangling cords
5) The cover on the floor of the master shower drain is not screwed in and almost ended up in a serious fall.

Please know that we would love to rent this house again and most likely will. Our comments are for your benefit and the owners. Unless you stay in a house, you typicallly have no idea of it's shortcomings. IT IS A MARVEROUL SPOT. THANK YOU.
5) Sorry to mention the above... As someone who rents out her house to others I just think you need to know these things.

Honolulu Oceanfront Villa - I liked everything about the house we rented. It was well kept and well equipped. Anything you needed was right there.

Beachfront Hideaway - The best part was the view from the front lawn and the washer and dryer.

Customer service was fine. Herb was great and very helpful.

It was nice to have the beach chairs and mats handy.

The only bad parts was that there was no stove and no place to eat in the unit. We finally used one of the luggage racks and a shelf from the closet for a table for our evening meals. Breakfast and lunch we ate outside on the front lawn which was fine. Maybe we are the only ones whoc actually ate at the unit.

Assaggio was good food and service.

I would have to reconsider the windward side of the island in the future. Maybe March is the wrong time to go because the wind made it a little uncomfortable for us. We will do a little for research on the trade winds in the future.
