to find the perfect Oahu vacation.
Apartment by Kailua Beach - Nice Owner, Good neighborhood, feel safe.
January was a bit cool but this unit gets nice wind in Summer time.
250 Ohua - We loved the unit for its convenient location, size and appointments
The customer service was fine and the resident manager was very pleasant
the best part of the trip was being with our children, first family holiday in 12 years
the Best restaurant was the Gyu Kyu on Kapiolani between Piikoi and Pensacola
We have already told friends about the unit
If you are into shopping for clothes go to Waikelle factory outlet and always checkout the bargains at Sears and Macys at Ala Moana
The Best insider tip is, ask a local, checkout the restaurants not in the main tourist areas and try the Shrimps from the roadside trucks on the north shore
Velzyland Beach House Sunset Beach - We truly enjoyed our stay. The rental was clean, close to the beach, had everything we needed and is on the beautiful North Shore. The owners of the unit are absolutely wonderful and we will certainly stay there again the next time we visit. Highly recommended!
Kokokahi - Great location for what we needed (access to diving). House was great - clean, comfy and gorgeous view. Didn't have enough sun to take full advantage of the pool. No cable TV as billed, but DVD player was plenty. Internet access would really add to the convenience - had to pay at the local Starbucks. Easy trip to the grocery and such, great meals at Formaggio in Kailua and at Haleawa Joe's down the road from the mall on Kamehameha. We would definitely stay there again!
Lanikai Sunrise Apartment - We felt the place was comfortable and clean, a beautifully remodeled studio.
Coconut Bungalow - We can't wait to tell our friends about the Coconut Bungalow. The place is in a super location and is very comfortable and well appointed. The folks are friendly and very helpful. Our favorite thing was the early morning beach walks. We shall return.
Kuilima Estates 56 East - What I liked best about the unit was it didn't feel like we were staying at a hotel, I was very much at home because of the nicely decorated and warm feeling our place presented. I am a private person and I enjoyed the non-hassle of checking in and walking directly to our place. The best part of my trip was opening an oyster at the polynesian cultural center for a pink pearl. The best restaurant was quite a drive, it takes an hour to get to waikiki, but it was more than worth it. We reserved a table at the oceanarium at the Pacific beach hotel right next to the aquarium. The food was a buffet with prime rib and king crab all you can eat. We paid about 25 dollars more at a separate restaraunt for just two entrees, this was much better. The best picture I took was of the giant cockroach who visited us on the island. I can't wait to tell my friends about the helicopter ride we took at the Turtle Bay resort two minutes away from the condo's. My trip was during Januray and I would reccomend going during the summer months, it rained the entire time we were there, however we wanted to go whale watching and they're only available during the winter months. The weather is still good, but don't look forward to a tan!
Peacock - Our family of five really enjoyed our stay at Peacock. The name was certainly appropriate as we were treated to the sites of peacocks strolling through the backyard almost daily. The home was nice and clean and set in a very residential, quiet location not far from the beach and local shopping. There was ample room for everyone. We enjoyed breakfast at Moki's in Kailua. One of the downsides to our rental was the absence of things such as beach mats, boogie boards, etc. It would have been nice to see things for use such as coolers, snorkle gear, etc. Unfortunately we had the bad luck to be in Oahu during a rather cloudy, rainy period but we still enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service we received from Hawaiian Beach Rentals was wonderful and we would not hesitate to use them again.
Lanikai Sunrise Apartment - The location in Lanikai was very nice. It was nice to get up in the morning and take a jog around the neighborhood and see all the other runners and walkers. The hill behind the house was a fun hike too. We really enjoyed the soft sands and swimming in the warm waters of the beaches at Lanikai and Kailua. Next time we would like to kayak to the "Moke's" and do some snorkeling there. Haunamau bay was packed on Monday (holiday) and closed on Tuesday, so we missed our chance. Maybe next time. We had a great time watching the playoff games at the "Shack". We also enjoyed driving up the North coast and watching the surfing competition. The Breakfast at the Big City Diner was pretty tasty too! The owners paid attention to the details, like plenty of towels and TP. The flowers on the bathroon sink were a nice touch too. We would rent here again...
Turtle Bay Ocean Villa 108 - Hi,
The Turtle Bay Villas are terrific. We would return in a heartbeat. The unit was clean, fresh, well appointed, with good views and access. The best restaurant is Ola right on the beach. The North Shore is great, and we thoroughly enjoyed the big surf along it, particularly the Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach. As tourist attractions, we did not care for either the Polynesian Center or Dole Plantation -- pretty touristy and overpriced. While Turtle Bay is pricey, we thought it was good value. We're not golfers, but the two courses looked to be well laid out and maintained. The people were very courteous and helpful.
