There is a restaurant close to the Kualoa ranch, called the Tropicaina Bar and Grill. Their coconut shrimp were fantastic. The banana pancakes at the Huki Lau restaurant in Laie were so good, That place is a definite stop to eat. Ask for directions. The owners were great! They do have nice beach towels, I wish I had known to save room in my suitcase.

Mark was a very gracious host who made sure we felt welcome (almost like locals)--he epitomizes the Aloha spirit. New Years Fireworks in Waimanalo were off the hook! The private-feeling (though public) beach was way closer than it seemed from the description and it's an incredibly relaxing oasis. The best restaurants I found to be the Chef's Table in Hawaii Kai (808) 394-2433 & Los Garcias in Kailua (808) 261-0306. Mark's guest book was comprehensive & full of tips on where to go & what to do. Waimanallo is THE perfect location to jump off from & explore Oahu. Bottom line: Beautiful Waimanalo exceeded every expectation--Maximum Mahalo, Mark!

We enjoyed our stay at this rental, especially since it was located so close to the beach and town itself. It was very relaxing and quiet in the evenings and night as to allow restful sleep. Mahalo

Although this rental was clean and nicely decorated with Hawaiian touches, I don't recommend this property if you're looking for a quiet retreat because there is a baby that lives upstairs from the unit and he/she cried for long periods of time during the nights and in the early morning hours. The crying could be heard loudly from the rental unit which is part of the main house. After 2 nights we decided to move to a hotel for the remainder of our trip. Upon check in to the rental, the owners disclosed that a baby lives upstairs and to use a "noice box" to drown out the crying. There was no disclosure about the baby at the time of booking which would have been the right thing to do. Beware of this property if you're looking for a restful vacation rental.

What I liked best about the house was the layout, that it was well equipped for living, easy access to the beach and decorated in a pleasing family way. The customer service we received felt very personal and was sooo timely. We never had to wait..negotiate or manoeuver about anything...so refreshing. This exceeded my expectations...you people have so much to do and you make it look easy! The best part of my trip was being with my family and not havin to worry about living arrangements. The best restaurant...in terms of easy access and good food was Buzz's...The best pictures (other than wedding photos) were on the beach or playing games in the house. I can't wait to tell my friends what a magic time we had. There were NO hitches. My advice to someone else staying at this unit would be to trust the Wahinis implicitly and relax and stay at least 2 days longer than you planned to. I would definitely recommend to others is to be in nature...hike and explore around Lanikai and stay at the house too because it's so easy to be present there. The best insider tip was take pictures of sunset and sunrise..kayak to the Mokulua Islands...shop at Ala Moana Mall and in Kailua too. Next time I come i'll do more hiking and exploring the neighbourhood. I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK.THANK YOU!!!

The unit was as advertised, Clean and well appointed. The only downside was the busy street but we were all grown enough to avoid cars when crossing the street.

If I am ever on Oahu again I would definitely try to stay at the same property.

Also, electric beach is a well hidden snorkel place that was the best.

I really enjoyed our unit 404 at Royal Hale. However, with two bedrooms you would assume that atleast 4 people will be staying there. In fact, the description says sleeps up to 8. Why would there be so little seating for 4 people. The couch and chair fit 3 comfortably and the bar area has 3 barstools. We were never able to sit together to dine unless we went outside to the patio tables. One of the main reasons we choose this type of accomodation is because we cook alot. Other than that, it was a beautifully appointed flat. thanks P.s. I loved the quaint and quiet town!

Unit 111W at Kuiilima was beautiful. Accomodated our family very well with an easy 7 minute walk to the beach. Our 4 kids ages 16 thru 21 enjoyed the surf lessons arranged through the Turtle Bay Resort (instructor Bobby was great!) LeiLeis restaurant at the Golf Club House was fantastic. Busy as a result so get there early. The shrimp scampi pasta dish fabulous. Also recommend Jamiesons Sea Food Restaraunt in nearby Hali'ewa. Best meal we experienced as a family, Take time to explore the quaint beaches and surf towns of the North Shore. The surfing is well worth watching at Sunset and Pipeline. The renos in 111 are outstanding and we felt very indulged. Kudos to the owners!!!! Insider tip- Costco worth a quick run and easy to find. Also enjoyed the swap meet at Aloha Stadium( Wed. Sat. Sun) Great for souvenirs and quaint buys. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the lack of sun. Gives us a reason to return as sun or not the weather was warm and you don't need to shovel rain! We ran out of time but would have loved a day at Waimea Beach with a walk to see the falls!! Next time! When staying at the Turtle Bay condos please allot time to return keys and parking passes to the Sugar Mill up island upon check out. It's a bit of a nuisance when having to double back to get to Honolulu for the airport. My only recommendation would be to have a kiosk a little more comvenient for check out purposes but that's minor. Again, we enjoyed a wonderful family holiday and look forward to visiting again. Mahalo and Aloha

the sliding door was stuck and very hard to open, along with the front screen door, and the blinds were off track. Other than that, it was nice, except the balcony wall cutting off the view since it is all concrete. We did lots of driving and exploring the island.
