The proximity to the beach is the best part of this home. Open the gate in the back yard, turn left, see the ocean, and walk 85 steps and you're there. The view from the upstairs deck was even more than expected...see the ocean, hear and smell it too. Trade winds every evening. It is a lovely home. The home's floor plan worked nicely for us and our 2 sets of adult children.

Gift shopping in Kailua was great fun, lots of little shops and friendly service. Try Italian at ZIA's. Get a one of a kind T-Shirt from Aaron's Dive Shop ( 15 bucks). Pass on Starbucks and go Morning Brew at 600 Kailua Rd No 119.

My advice to someone else staying here would be to grocery shop before arriving, be sure to include toilet paper and paper towels.. Do not expect the freezer to keep your ice cream and popsicles frozen...only ice.

We think improvements would be that someone be there to show you the ropes on arrival. We had difficulty figuring out the front door and alarm system. A piece of paper in the kitchen instructed us to go next door for important information, but the neighbor told us that must be old paperwork as they don't have anything to do with this rental home any longer.

The home could use another cutting board in the kitchen, a pair of binoculars; and a BBQ should be placed on the upstairs balcony. The one in the yard out front is falling apart and too much work to go up and down the stairs and around the house to use.

Ted's Bakery rocks, and has great food.. far beyond bakery goods. The security and privacy of Under the Mango Tree was great! I felt like we had a private compound. Great. The best beach for swimming and sunning and spending time was the one a block from the house..no need to look for a better beach. Private, sunny, and beautiful sunsets. This will be a highlight of our family memories together. Thanks!

The rental beach house had everything that you would want....home from home (beach towels/bathroom towels and beautifully comfortable beds!) The customer service was superior to any customer service I have received before. The best part.... being on your island and in Hawaii :-) We frequesnted Pinky's when we were not BBQ'ing at the house (great BBQ) Relax, enjoy and feel special in this amazing house! Next time I come back I am going to the Polynesian Center..... Mahalo for everything :-)

-the house was big enough for all three families, yet intimate enough for us all to feel like a family.
-buzz's steakhouse and pinky's pupu platters.
-at lanikai, of course.
-stay in the windward side, not waikiki
-park at the honolulu zoo for 25cents per hour for up to 4 hrs, close enough to kalakua ave for everything you need.
-going to kaneohe bay

The accommodations were very nice lots of towels and beach equipment available. Every morning we walked to Turtle Cove and watched the turtles swim around. Also, it was nice to sit on the beach drink our coffee and watch the sun rise. We really enjoyed staying on this windward side of the island and all of the peace and quiet. It was definately a wonderful peaceful vacation and Kailua beach is so beautiful.

The garden aloha rental was immaculate and professionally decorated. The upstairs master suite was a dream. I don't think I'll ever stay in a hotel again after staying in this lovely condo.

the unit was surprisingly spacious and very clean and fit our family comfortably. it was equipped with most everything we would need on vacation so that was a plus. free access to a washer and dryer was also a bonus. we loved that the beach was within walking distance, right across the street. it was definitely a great place to get together with family. we had lots of fun and we'd recommend it to anyone visiting hawaii!

The whole family felt right at home. The apartment was clean, breezy, air conditioned and in a quiet neighborhood. This all added to the feeling of Ohana and being part of Kailua not just a visitor. The kids loved the lanai's and everything about the trip.

They especially liked the birds waking them every morning and we enjoyed the quiet evenings and nights.
