Kuilima Estates 62W - The unit was smaller than expected, but worked out good for our small size family. We enjoyed the location and peacefullness it had to offer.

Wahinani Makai - The Wahinani Makai is a beautiful property that was perfect for my family vacation. It's in a quiet residential neighborhood right on the beach and I must say that waimanalo beach is probably the most beautiful on the island. My family spent our first sunrise in Hawaii on the beach in front of this house and I will never forget how amazing it was to see the mountains all around appear in the morning sun. The mountains were lush green and towered so highed they literally touched the clouds above. We just stood there on the beach awe struck. To top things off, the house was only a 30 minute drive to Waikiki and the drive alone will provide great photo opportunities. Just stop along the scenic stops and snap away.

Papaya Hale' - This was an ideal place for our family. The location was wonderful. It is just a very short walk (through a small backyard) to a great beach. The owner was very helpful but not intrusive ( he lives in the house behind the unit- actually on the beach).

It was very comfortable, although I wouldn't classify it as luxurious due to some minor quibbles (no dishwasher or garbage disposal) and only one bathroom. It is also next to a road that is fairly busy but if it bothers you you can always turn on the AC and shut the windows. We chose not to as we love the Hawaiian air.

The beach was very nice (and huge). Many of the beaches on Oahu are crowded, but not this one. I suspect it is because public access is a bit difficult, which makes this location all the better. It has a huge reef that makes swimming and goofing in the water quite safe.

The PCC was also across the street, which is a great place. The nearby college campus and the Mormon temple are both beautiful and it is well worth spending some time at the visitors center at the temple. I am not a huge fan of Oahu in general (as opposed to the other Hawaiian islands), but I love the North Shore.

As far as other tips staying there- if you are trying to save some bucks you can always cook at this unit. There is a Foodland just down the street (make sure and get a Makai card- it will save you big bucks). McDonalds is across the street. For breakfast you have to go to the Hukilau cafe (the short stack of blueberry or banana pancakes is plenty to fill you up). The PCC has a good luau and the Ambassador restaurant is very good. The college also has a decent place for food called the Seasider- try the stir fry. There are also some places fairly close where you can get the veritable "plate lunch".

By the Sea Apartment - Having the place to myself, being able to experience the smells, clouds, beach, birds and mountains was the best.
Sandy was my customer service. Love her!
Experiencing the house by myself. i could sneak up to take a peak at the water and the hills behind me otherwise, I had the pool to myself. It was so private--never felt so free.
My best insider tip was if you're staying with not other renters, swim naked as much as you can. Such privacy is rare and with the most perfect weather in the world, it is truly spectacular!

Thank you for the most wonderful memories ever,
Kelly

Tropical Studio - At the moment I can't reply in full to this request since we've been home for a few hours only and we're a little overwhelmed with the amount of snow we have here, the mail and sad news about old friends.

Our stay was wonderful and everything perfect for our needs. God willing we shall return one day.
Sincerely, Pat and Dave

Kailua OF Hideaway Mountain Side Unit - We loved our stay in Hawaii, it was beautiful, perfectly warm, low humidity, and very few bugs, (except for the tiny ants all over the counter, they were not bad at all). I thought the condo was well stocked, and they had many items probably from previous guests that came in handy, like sunscreen, and bug spray, and ziplock baggies. The beach umbrella was a life saver. The boogie boards were fun, totally used the snorkal gear, and beach towells. I never met the owners but they left a small binder with advice, also very helpful.

One morning we had to leave at 4:15 am to make an inter island flight, and we accidentally woke up someone, it may have been the owner, were sorry about that.
I loved how well it was stocked, and that the two bedrooms were seperate from each other so we couldnt "hear" each other. The a/c in every room was appreciated.

The only down fall was it was very very plain, no pictures or anything in the bedrooms, little artwork, plain white walls, and i really would have loved having a wall mirror, or any mirror in the room. We were sharing with another couple. And with only 1 bathroom, i would have liked to have a mirror in the room. The only thing i would change would be to paint the walls a pretty comforting color, heck any color. And to put up some nice framed mirrors, one in each bedroom.

I would pack differently next time i went to Hawaii, i would pack just a couple swimsuits, a few skirts (cause i am a girl), a couple shirts, Tevas and flipflops. Although we did do hiking, most people just had on "reef shoes" or tevas. They were the perfect shoes, cause we were constantly wet, then dry, then hiking, then walking on very sharp rocks. And definatly buy flowers for your hair, cause only in Hawaii can you walk around with flowers in your hair and its completly normal.

definatly don't forget a Backpack!!!

My husband, a few swimshorts, tevas, and a couple tshirts would have done the job.

Waikiki, defintaly not all that great, the north shore and kailua, much prettier, not as crowded. way easier parking. My favorite place to eat, was the coldstone in Kailua, I know boring, but somehow it was soooo good.

Buy whatever food you can at Costco, it was significantly cheaper than safeway. a carton of 18 eggs at safeway was $6.99 and a gallon of milk was $5. Costco had normal mainland prices.

I can't wait to come back!

Thank you

Mala Pua Hale Guest House - What a great spot. The location is central for the Windward side, the North Shore and Honolulu, nice and quiet. The suite was very clean and cozy with your own private back yard. How wonderul! I would certainly book this guest house again.

Garden Lanai - This was the perfect place to relax and really be on vacation...The unit was so clean and welcoming that it was like it became home and we had a hard time leaving. Lanikai beach really lived up to all it's amazing reviews and I can't wait to come back and bring friends and family.

By The Sea Home - The house was great and the rooms were really seperate. You could hear everything that was going on throughout the house, but that was WAY offset by the fact that the house was perfect in every way. Close to the beach, nice pool area and many outside eating areas. Sandy was so plesant to work with. We also loved the fact that it wasn't touristy at all. Far from all the hub-ub of the big hotels, but still convient enough to get to when needed.
